Yeah all the greats are leaving so fast seem like. Im a 80's baby and Marvin passsed when I was 5 or 6! I grew up listening to old school. I really appreciate the art of music, and performance. Michael is such a smooth operator, lol. Has no one else noticed him checking Diana Ross out on stage at least 3 times clearly? When he comes out and she says his name when they hug after they finish he looks down her dress clearly live on stage. Then when she calls Marvin Gaye's name & hugs him Michael clearly checks out her butt, then when he finishes hugging Smoky Robinson he checks out her butt again & keeps looking in her direction instead of facing forward. I will always look back with fondness at the 60's - the time of my teens - when I lived my life with background music provided by Motown. I cannot hear "The Girl's Alright with me," "My Girl," "Come and See about me," and so many more songs without thinking of that time. I dressed like the Supremes...and wore my hair that way! Just to clarify a misconception to what you said; there were some artists that were invited, but they declined to be in the show. David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, and The Vandellas WERE invited but they declined. I'm sure there were some that didn't get invited for whatever reasons, and that's sad, but to be fair, some were invited, but declined to attend. And yes, I guess Diana could have said that "many" of them came back and they could have acknowledged the ones that were dead.

Motown was a shady bunch of people. All equally did things that were wrong. Saying things like 'it doesn't matter, he/she got their money' is silly. I don't care if you became successful for scamming artists out of their money, stealing, or sleeping with the boss. At the end of the day when our life is over we answer to one person and that is God. And trust he won't care how successful you became on earth and how big of a star you are. Wrong is wrong and we are all the same in his eyes.

Yeah all the greats are leaving so fast seem like. Im a 80's baby and Marvin passsed when I was 5 or 6! I grew up listening to old school. I really appreciate the art of music, and performance. The artists are wonderful especially when they have a passion about it in their soul!!. I will forever miss marvin michael and all others.!

Many of those people were dead, including Flo Ballard. And you dont know who was not invited, some of those people could not have shown up. The same way people dont show up to award shows now. I remember Oprah had a legends ball to honor 25 black living legends. Some couldnt make it because of schedules.

He even said "That the reason why she was so successful at Motown was because she had a good team behind her and at RCA, she doesn't have that team." I will always look back with fondness at the 60's - the time of my teens - when I lived my life with background music provided by Motown. I cannot hear "The Girl's Alright with me," "My Girl," "Come and See about me," and so many more songs without thinking of that time. I dressed like the Supremes...and wore my hair that way! LOL...except mine was real, not a wig! LOL I remember all of these entertainers with gratitude for the lovely music they provided in my youth.

Just to clarify a misconception to what you said; there were some artists that were invited, but they declined to be in the show. David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, and The Vandellas WERE invited but they declined. I'm sure there were some that didn't get invited for whatever reasons, and that's sad, but to be fair, some were invited, but declined to attend. And yes, I guess Diana could have said that "many" of them came back and they could have acknowledged the ones that were dead.

Oh dont get me wrong cause I love Diana, but to say she made motown is a matter of opinion, for me no one act made motown. Mravin gay, Jackson 5, stevie wonder, smokey, supremes and so many more all contributed to a mgnificent label that was motown, Diana didnt make the whole label. She was great though! Damn, wish I grew up in the 70's!!

@kaztq . . . I don't know if Miss Ross "made" Motown, but she certainly was Motown's flag ship . . . I may be biased, but I do think the masses think of Miss Ross / The Supremes when they think of Motown . . .

I respect your opinion, you think Ross made motown, I think Jackson 5 made Motown more, but no one act, not even the greatest that was MJ, made Motown, they were all great, amazing times!!

@kaztq no you are a little clueless if you say so...I'm a huge mj fan but the jackson 5 didn't make more,they arrived later when act like the supremes and the temptations opens the door for them....motown became a real international act thanks to the supremes...diana,mary and flo breaks the barriers and the pop chart...this three lady were popular as the beatles! BTW everybody can have their opinion so I respect your

@kaztq J5 was the biggest & most successful group out Motown, diana stole her career, because she was sleeping w/ & had a child from barry, That's how she climbed the ladder over other people's body's. She even took credit for discovering the Jacksons, they set the record straight at their rock & roll hall of fame Ceremony, Ask me 2 little 2 late. Barry made her bigger than she was. Stephanie Mills should have played Dorothy in the Wiz, she sings better, but barry gave it 2 diana. Go figure.

Michael idolized Diana and wanted to be Like HER. she told him to just be himself. it was berry not barry(who is barry?) ask diana to present them because her name was large and still a member of the Supremes his biggest act. Gladys Knight and Bobby Vancovers names were NOT ass big. Stephanie Mills was Not as ATTRACTIVE and they werent going to spend money on pushing her. bas role for diana. so what shes still became a LEGEND on her own.

She took advantage & brainwash him as a kid, even his mother didn't care 4 her. & far as looks go, Stephanie had natural beauty & a voice of an Angel. not a paint up clown like diana, Dorothy in the wiz was supposed 2 B 16 yr old, not a 40 yr old mom. Stephanie was well known w/ hits, 2 this day she's still a beauty. diana not! now 4 your spelling, ass,{as} bas,

@mahoganyflame Stephanie was Beautiful on the inside and out, & big noses, lips & asses, r black women trademark. Things white people r paying 4 2 look good. She's has a Beautiful personality & never stab any1 in the back. Everything about her is natural. diana not! The only thing berry found was between diana's legs, because that was his payment 4 her success. Step didn't have 2 4 hers, & she kept her good name in check. 2 this day Step's still a Beauty, diana, looks like a old bug w/ teeth.
