@StarkidMaddy92 well yes and no, there's only one son, Gabe. he died at 8 or 18 months (depending on what you've read/heard) but she was unable to grieve so the 18 year old Gabe is what she imagined he would be like. pritty much she thought she watched him grow up but he never really had, and with her guilt she sees him and eventually (SPOILER ALERT) Gabe tries and succeeds in convincing her to try to commit suicide resulting in the second act of the show hope this helped

according to wikipedia, Gabe died of an intestinal obstruction. I was just wondering if and when that was mentioned in the musical? i haven't seen it live yet myself so i've just been watching the videos on youtube and can't find it. can anyone provide an answer?

@thoseuveknown It's not on any of the recordings. It is said toward the end of the show though. In the middle of Maybe(Next to Normal) After Diana has gained her memory back she tells Natalie. Natalie already knew that he passed, but they never discussed with her how.
