  • IN REMEMBERENCE TO ALL THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES BY THE WORST ENEMY OF HUMANKIND...WAR.

  • I love this song! Very awesome! :D Josh turner is the man!!!

  • Confederate baby!!!!

  • There's one thing we always forget when it comes to "yankee" or "rebel". We were both blessed with his sacred word and we should remember that before we start another "civil" war. Remember, you call for a second war, you call to fight your brothers, friends, and nephews. And you can't call me a Yankee either, I was born and bred Texan, Houston to be exact.

  • WONDERFUL SONG. WELL DONE. SHOULD MAKE US ALL THINK.

  • God bless America.

  • that picture of God looking at earth and him crying make me cry every time. thank you for this song along with the pictures.

  • How bout at least pretend to respect us enough to find out why Southern culture is still very much alive centuries after our people came here. was born & raised in Va. The first incidence of legalized slavery was when a free black man petitioned the court to own another man. Before that, feudalism dictated that slavery 1st came to the colonies by way of indentured servitude. Of the descendants of the poor white serfs. Stop reducing us to racism & slavery. It makes you look ridiculous.

  • History repeats itself. This where our country is headed. Get ready!

History repeats itself. This where our country is headed. Get ready!

  • If you all want a movie that brings this moment to life Josh Turner is describing in this song. Watch the movie Gods and Generals. Amazing.

    (Long live The Republic)

  • Ok there are a lot of ppl commenting that the civil ear was about slaves and the north wanting the southern land... but lincoln brought up war because he only wanted the united states to be unified... slavery didnt matter to him at that point...

  • i would like to say you did a great job on this video it is amazing

  • Beautiful Josh. Bless you.

  • It is such a beutiful song and Josh turner sings it so well:)

  • war is human kinds creation god takes no sides just loves us all the same and hopes we make the right choices.

  • @JeffG62 same here but i don't know where he is buried to put his new Grave Stone on it so it sits in front of my grandmother's House i stand there every once in a while and salute to that stone John Twitty McCoy Fought in this war for the south

  • If you are going to have anything negative to say of this song, or bring Christianity into this, then don't bother on commenting, this is a song comment ABOUT THE SONG. We all have our different beliefs, if your not a Christian and don't believe that there is a God, there is a time and place to talk of those things. I understand the song talks about God, but common' guys, listen to the song and enjoy it or don't bother commenting.

  • Everytime I hear this song it makes me cry but I have to give Josh Turner one for singing this song becauses I just love and listin to it everyday I can!!!!!!!!!

  • The only time God would cry is when he doesn't kill anyone since that thing is devoid of any emotion other than hate.

    wwwdotExposingChristianitydotcom

  • @GahdeMalprigi1488x this comment is horrible. I'm sorry for dissing your belief, but your not 'exposing' anything on Christianity. I dont know who you think you are to trash the truth. God cries when we cry. We are his people, the church is the bride of Christ. We are loved. God hates to see us hurt, it breaks His heart when people disobey him, but he doesnt strike them down. We are human, we learn through our mistakes and God made us so he knows that. So dont go dissing the Christianity

  • in which he raised any confederate property or supporter from the northwest corner of Georgia to the southeast corner. It was not heroic, it was not glorious. It was brutal, cruel, and horrible. As is any other war that has been fought, that is why we must always remember these brutalities in hopes that some day we might find a better way. I write this from my own perspective and research. My background is born and raised in the north in the state of Maine. 2 yrs ago moved to Florida.

  • I have not now, nor at any point in history heard about a 'nice' or 'fair' war. The truth is this folks, no side is ever 100% innocent. The best I have heard it put is this, "It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation. War is hell." -Sherman and for those who do not know he probably had more blood on his hands than any one person in the union army, most known for his march through Georgia

  • My great-great-great grandfather Jeramiah Pelcha immigrated from French Canada and fought for the south.

  • When it all boils down, this war, like any other, was fough over a difference in ideals. Two clashing ways of life, both had good, both had bad.

  • it is so sad how we allow the silliest things separate us from each other as a people,as a nation. We are all human arent we? shouldnt matter what part of the globe we are from, the color of our skin, what gender or what language we speak. The pride of man is so ridiculous. Its a silly old phrase but seriously, CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? think of how much we could accomplish if we could find some sort of unity...GENESIS 11...

  • People are forgeting something very important It has been stated many times and even mentioned in the Gods and Generals dvd that it dosnt matter who was in office be it Linclon or someone else the war was coming. Abe just used the slave thing. Sure its wrong we know that now. Besides many states didnt even join the war cause of the slave issue it wqas more or so protecting their homes from invaders.

  • I am a white southerner, proud to be from the south, but most of all, proud to be an AMERICAN !!!! I saw segregation as a young boy, but my white CHRISTIAN parents, always told me it was wrong and unfair, and that GOD would changes someday, I witnessed that change, most southerners now have little prejudice and are fair an GOD fearing people, black and white!!!

  • Anybody paying any attention to the title of this song ??? Jesus died for for FORGIVNESS ... Which means everyone has to FORGIVE... the people of today didn't make slavery, and people should look at the entire story and history of slavery... BUt if all forgives there really isn't anymore conversation to be had about it right ... ????

  • I can't believe how many think the civil war was fought due to slavery between those who were for nd those against it.

  • @lherber21 People think that because thats what they are taught in school. They don't teach the whole story, just what looks good. They want people to think that the north were some big heros. They don't tell you how the north burned crops, killed the innocent, tryed to demote confederate currency and did just about everything they could to make life as miserable and hard in the south as they could. Slavery was bad but it was just an excuse.

  • WWJD?

  • @ezekialwheel Hey, if you are a Christian you wouldn't be bad-mouthing people....Now what's in the past is in the past, I mean really people, we are all U.S. citizens, let's just get along.

  • @ezekialwheel you sit their want to talk bad about southern people when yall are rude and want to say we had slaves well yall did to and you need to learn your history. dumb yankee and yes their rude people every one has them. but you get all upset when yall get backed in a corner. and I make an honst livin thank you

  • @caylor17 they just dont understand us. (Too bad for them)

  • @ezekialwheel you sit their want to talk bad about southern people when yall are rude and want to say we had slaves well yall did to and you need to learn your history. dumb yankee and yes their rude people every one has them. but you get all upset when yall get backed in a corner

  • @ezekialwheel What the fuck are you talking about? I do not believe I was talking to your broke ass !Where the fuck did you even come up with fighting the war again from what I wrote ?Oh and by the way ass wipe I have a job!You on the other hand are probably a broke ass yankee living off our welfare system! Why are you so worried about a video and who's watching it anyway !Get a life!

  • @ezekialwheel shut the hell up dude yall were just as bad yall had slaves to and if you want to start crap the union solider were low and basturds why march in to the south and rape women an burn down cities yall are just as bad if not worst so before u start talkin bad about the south put your money were your mouth is and shut the hell up

  • GOD bless josh turner!!!!!

  • wow!

  • i luv this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song !Yes I am a proud southerner(hard not to be here in S.C.)and I just wish people really knew the history of the civil war!So sad that in our country today that lesson in school is still one sided and the one side isn't even the real truth! The big shocker to most people is the yes Lincoln was a big raciest !

  • Listened still not learned by the comments in here

  • I have had this in my favorites for oh a few years now and I just want to say thank you to ALLMOSTGONE for making it and uploading it. My eyes often get misty watching it. ALSO a BIG THANK YOU to Josh Turner for allowing this to be used and left here for us. Not only this but many many of Josh's songs are here and I say to Josh: THANK YOU JOSH for leaving your work here. Only eternity will tell you what a wonderful blessing you have been to many many others with your singing and your music.

  • Good song Josh. God has cried for us many times

  • Amazing song by an amazing singer.

  • my ancestor Robert Hampton Ramsey was a union officer who fought in the civil war served loyaly an did what he had to do i am honored by all those in my family who served or serve i cant thank them enough or ask anything of them they do what some cant an they defend me an you

  • i got to visit this battle site an saw the area of the battle its hard to imagine that all those men died on that hollow ground i only hope it never happens again an wish some how it never had to happen at all god rest the souls of all soldiers killed in that war that changed this nation forever ~salutes~ god bless our army an all who serve today

  • this song gives me chills

  • Bad ass

  • But Josh does a great job

  • The poor are still slaves to the rich

  • @evetssknabue if you work for a living your a slave because you are bound by that employer to his rules and orders This is called Indentured servantship AKA Slavery

  • His voice sounds amazing♥

  • Well its clear to me that some people still cant let go of the past. Half the problems and wars today wouldn't exist if people would just LET GO

  • @ageofmatholowmew .....and some people choose to honor their people who made the ultimate sacrifice for what they believed. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

  • so true the civial war wasnt fought over freedom of the souths slaves it was fought because the north wanted the southern land. if it had been over slavery the north would not have still had slaves after they won the war. they only gave them up when it suited their time. and lincoln was a piece of shit he was never a graet president. my great great grandfather fought in the civial war for the geroiga army as a lt. and no one in our family owned slaves.

  • I'm from Alabama and there is no other place I'd like to be. The South is great place to live. The South is just a great place!

  • Wow this is one amazing song nice choice of pictures.

  • @Counrtyman2668 I agree

  • josh u r the best b/c my great grandpa fought at the bombing of pearl harbor and i miss him dearly and the song reminds me so much of him.

  • You picked amazing photos!!!

  • I'm black, born in Colorado, and I love the south. There is no place I'd rather live. It has a rich, if bloody, history, like any other place in the world. Its slow, peaceful way of life, hot muggy summers, beautiful scenery and friendly, chivalrous people make this the best place in the world to live. Some rich people owned slaves. The north didn't stop owning slaves until it was convenient for them, and they had an industrial revolution. Their shit stinks, too.

  • @Hannahdabeast I'm not trying to say your incorrect, because you are correct, but the southern colonies in colonial america were the first ones to have slaves. When they brought indentured slaves from africa to colonial america they put them in the south to work on the cash crops. so therefore, the southern colonies and plantations were the first ones to start slavery. I am and always have been against slavery so don't get the wrong idea. Peace and God bless you!

  • @Hannahdabeast Born in the north Raised in the south i respect your choice Beast the South is a beautiful place but i leave out in 4 days to the north where ill be spending the next 3 years

  • @Hannahdabeast I respect you brother because you spoke the truth not the color of your skin after all we are human and we all bleed red Peace brother

  • this song gives me chills every time i listen to it....i live in west viginia but am from virginia....i can see that there is no unity between these states....but i hope there will be one day

  • But because the south was fighting against the rising northern control they were assumed to be racist white crackers! So before you go and voice your opinion on a matter check your history first...:Your fellow Redneck and Proud Southern Josh"

  • @fifezilla: For your information and to educate you just a little on the war in the south and the period. The "North" Held slaves even after the war was over after slavery had been abolished from the south. Your history books and the media depict the south as a ruthless, uneducated tyrant which in fact, the south was a peaceful nation and colony. Which yes had slaves just as much as the rest of the country did.

  • This was a wonderful song for Josh to do. All I can say now is BEAUTIFUL!

    God Bless You All

  • Such gorgeous violin.

  • ok i hate how itunes has no civil war music like Tears of God, If the South would've won- hank williams, or The day the sun stood still. 3 Damn good songs and itunes doesn't have any of them!!!!!!!!!! WTF! Fuck you itunes!

  • the war was not about race. it was about the goverment telling the south what to do and how they have to live before someone talks shit about race and slavery they need to get there facts straight

  • So true only the rich owned a slave. Most of the south were poor. I am from western NC mountain people most did not even now any one who had slaves,The war was over rights. The poor did not want to fight butthe rich start a mess and poor people have to clean it up. That is still true. The rich now is goverment and it was back then.

  • @debdans

hell yea man nc aint everybody had slaves like you say

  • @pimpinjonesboro

amen people need to get off our backs about that

  • My first time hearing this song, and it made the tears just fall.

  • OMGosh...11 people cant have GREAT music

  • Im a full grown man and it made me cry.

  • just wont to say........ never again will the white race kill each other over the black race..............

  • @rogerdaleable you cant even spell your racist garbage open up your heart a bit man.

  • my i dont know how many greats grandfather was in this war and had a family but switched sides and left his family and got another family, which made me. i wouldnt be here without this war. actually i probably would cuz God is just amazing and can work anything any way He wants. so sad how people had to fight their own blood and countrymen.

  • I am a "damned yankee" someone who came to the south.... And STAYED! LOL

But like so many I have always been fascinated by the civil war, as a Former Marine the sounds of battle will alway live in my soul

  • This song is so cool. I just love it.

  • it's dwell together in unity...but very good point.

  • I love this song it's such a true story. God probabley did cry when our was split apart. It was bloody war and horriable time in our country. God didn't plan this when lead people to the USA. or any contry for that matter. People need to think God gave us the country. So why would you want to tear apart something that God gave you it's just not right.

  • Today was the first time I'd heard this song and I love it. The civil war is one of my favorite periods of history. This is such a good song, I wish history was more of a focus in school. WE can learn so much! Amazing song, Thanks!

  • Where can i find this song?

  • Outstanding song. The video fits beautifully. Thanks for sharing this.

  • the south will rize again

  • I wounder...did he write this song?...and why isn't it on any of his albums?...

  • its sad, people say we shouldnt learn of the civil war in school, i say we should go into detail. we need to teach our future what happened in the past, so they relize were we have been, and were we are going. they need to understand that although that civil war was a terrible part of our history, its still in fact "out history" and we need to learn of it. we need to teach our future... "Rember the revolution, the war of brothers, and the fallen towers. and let it be know we have yet to fall"

  • @AdoAdowowski I agree with you. I do think they should teach this in school. My husband and brothers reenact the civil war. Their unit is the 16th Ga Reg. Com. G but when they play the union soldiers they are the 51st Mass. Com. F. They have a lot of fun doing it and they learn tons of information on the civil war. I even dress up in period dresses and play my own little part.

  • I'm an American, and I would do anything for our great country, along with the rest of my family. However sad the Civil war was, it was necessary. Nobody likes war, neither the citizens nor the people fighting them. Ecclesiastes 3:8 says there is a time for war and a time for peace. Many things lead up to the Civil war, while it destroyed many things, it reunited us. South and North life styles differed too much. War is never a good thing, but sometimes it's necessary, for FREEDOM!

  • why did he write this song. this songs not in any of his albums

  • @Btown693 This song is on a CD called "America Will Always Stand" It has various artists doing civil war songs. I got it from Time Life Music several years ago. I love this song. It was written by Michael Curtis and Josh Turner.

  • Is the thing about the rainbow mist true? Does anyone know if there's a story online about it? I'm just curious and I was wondering.

  • Incredible song. My ancestors fought at Fredericksburg, and later in the Wheatfield at Gettysburg. They were the first members of my family to come to America. They were members of General Meagher's Irish Brigade of the Union Army. I have visited Gettysburg and Antietam, seen where they fought, and walked in their footsteps. Some day I hope to visit Fredericksburg as well.

  • i remember watching a musice video on cmt or gac cant remember what channel it was, but it josh singing it and they were showing actual clips, does anybody know where i can find it?

  • Wow, you really did an amazing job with this video. I am a follower of Christ and so this song always really hit hard, but this video really does wonders for me. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That was truer than with this. You should really consider doing something like this for a living. I don't know how you would do it, but you really have a God-given gift for this sort of thing. May the Lord bless you and if you don't know Him I pray you come to.

  • NORTH SOUTH STILL AMERICA..

I WOULD HAVE THEN EVEN TODAY IF ANOTHER CIVIL WAR STARTED BE SOUTHERN

  • they were dark times in the ua history. god bless the usa

  • its a good song

  • yep

  • What an intense video, thank you so much.

  • simply beautiful Josh has one of the best vioces i've ever heard and put a song like this with him amazing.

  • Beautiful pictures and such a powerful song. It's kind of got an eerie feel to it in Josh Turner's deep voice, but it makes it all the better.

  • one of his best i think

  • Now I think I know why God said He is the "light". When His Holy Spirit is present in my life and in my mind and heart, it feels so good it's like a blinding light in my face - so good I can hardly stand it. Indeed, I am not worthy.

  • go to show that it did not matter what side we wereon but that we are ALL GODS CHILDREN!!!!

  • this is the truth and as soon as we build jesuses chruch this will be all thats left

  • This gives me chills to hear one of the best country singer sing a wonderful song like this. I love these words. You did a great job bud!

  • If i had but one last tear to shed

it would be for the words left unsaid!!!

  • Beautiful. Thanks for the great song!

  • One day we will have a fantastic Matrix, and we will be able to have Pandora or any kind of planet we want there. That will be pretty cool.--> WATCH/MEDIA/SITE dot C O /\/\ remove /

  • LOVE IT!!

  • TRULY AWESOME !

  • Great Video for a Great Song.

  • gives me chills

  • His voice is so amazing in this song this is probly my favorite of his.

  • @cheymckenzie96 his voice in just amazing in general

  • powerful 5*****

  • War was over the tyranny of the leadership in DC, they mowed right over states rights and attempted to build a central power, not what the founding fathers wanted. After all was forgotten, and the cause white washed, twisted into a lie, they went right back and finished what they started. If you don't believe that, what would be your assumption on how the country got in the mess it's in now, does Washington work FOR the people or their own interests? Takes more than the president to get us here.

  • I'm a firm Christian and just listening to this song gives me the goose bumps all over, this song is so incredibly moving!

  • God Bless The Fallen angels but not Forgotten....And I thank the families of our fallen angels and those still over there fighting I told will soon be out there beside them got nine months till i go to basic n ait

  • Beautiful. Fits Josh Turner's voice amazingly.

  • Loved this song, no doubt Josh Tunner

    is favored by God!

  • wonderful song.

  • A great video in a horrible time in your history. I am Canadian.

  • wish you had the lyrics up...

  • It is on the CD "America will always Stand". Saw the video on GAC it used scenes from the Turner movies about the War between the States.

  • I too want to know what cd this is on i want a copy

    Love it

i want to include this in my Family tree info

  • i dont understand why people are so hateful. like seriously. i love this song and thats why i listened to it, not so i can diss on other peoples comments, spelling, religion, race. god everyone is a person. dont know them as black or white, or purple yellow, green. it doesn't matter. My name is chris. and thats who i am. thats ALL i am.

  • and it continues...

  • What a dark time in our nations history. Brother against brother and father against son. Psalm133:1 says,"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" and the civil war tore us apart and even today we are not competely united. Im a South Carolinian and will forever stand by her but it has taken a toll on our lovely home and its people

  • @celtic23bhoy NORTH SOUTH STILL AMERICA..

I WOULD HAVE THEN EVEN TODAY IF ANOTHER CIVIL WAR STARTED BE SOUTHERN

  • O my God the best I+ve ever heard that voice and this song

  • Lol Idc what's going on I just want to no were I can get this song

  • Pasting huh? WOW, i think you need to work on a little bit of grammar yourself

  • dont use the LORD's name in vein! And I'm hardcore Christian and dislike liberals as much as it is possible.

  • you know the funny thing about hardcore christians is they completely miss the point. the spelling is vain and the lords name used in context such as this is no where close to vain because the truth of the matter is that we were created in god's image and as we can cry so can he and such a horrorendous event as the civil war can make him cry because we are his children and he wants the best for us.

  • Just to clarify your point Donkeybowl01, I am sure you meant this, many hardcore christians miss the point. There are some who have it down quite well, I am blessed to be the friend of one. All in all I think Gandhi had it best though, "I like your Christ. I do not like you christians. They are so unlike your Christ."

  • well put

  • Comment removed

  • Umm... You just spelled "pasting" incorrectly. I believe you mean "passing". :)

I think that people know how to spell... they are just in a hurry or don't bother to spell meticulously. RELAX....

  • Its all a song why get all upset over what so one see's and feels himslef with his words of song comce on now..... Lets all be friends and love one another nor white black Indian what ever race one might be get a life and love one another thats all goid so wants in this life come on now... Peace Out

  • Can't anyone spell any longer? Just throw more money into the school system to raise dummies. Yep love those stupid liberals.

  • Amen tyler58855. By the way does anyone know what cd this is on.

  • ok...wow...u guys are fighting about something u cntg change...i dnt agree with wat the north did or what the south havin slavary...but the north hated blacks too...i dnt hate anyone of any color until they hate me, my damily, or my God and his word.....but i also dont think blacks shld get money for their ancesters bein slaves...no one was a slave or owned a slave since the mid eighteen hundreds...was it wrong yes...but we cant change it...so let it go for both sides...

  • For fucks sake... are we arguing about history? come on now...

  • I do not believe that violence can prove one side right and the other wrong.War is a show of might and strategy and in no way focuses on the on solutions. Jesus Christ is the answer to your troubles, Cast your cares on the Lord.

  • The good thins was that Slavery was abolished. Blacks are people too. They deserve the right to have all the same things that we have. Hating someone for the color of their skin is retarded. Slavery is wrong.

  • birddog2013the civil war was fought for black people.civil war was fought for human beings gaining freedom

  • Even the north hated blacks, it's just bullshit that they put in history books now that lie about it.

  • No one hated blacks they just thought that a race that was a different color had to be a different form of species and had to be inferior. Therefore they thought it was okay to beat on them. Like some people think its okay to beat on dogs.

Some Yankees wanted slavery too but the south also wanted to be separate from the union They believed that if the north wanted to abolish slavery ( a thing needed to keep the plantations up and running) than the south should be allowed to separate .

  • no. They were tired of being treated like shit like the colonies were during the revolutionary war. Remember "no taxation without representation"? Also, during the forced draft of the north, since they didn't have 300 dollars to opt out, there were riots which included lynching black people. It didn't have anything to do with slavery until the emancipation proclamation. Look up the Crittenden-Johnson Resolution.
