for the morons who think horse power ratings equals the actual power the car puts down heres the correction factor........BHP /(divided by) 1.21= WHP so take 258bhp / 1.21 = 213 whp rougly this is prob a mustang dyno so numbers are a little low
So everyone get it straight. The ca was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno which reads 13% than the Dynojet dyno. This is why the Dyno Dynamics is called the "Heartbreaker" dyno. My car made 207whp. Which would make it around 230whp on a Dynojet. Add the 12-15% drivetrain loss and that's my horsepower at the crank for ya.
@umcool911ok What was the baseline whp before you added the exhaust and intake? And how much did they each add? I'm looking to do the same but want some feedback first.
@jabxhook I never had a baseline done, but I probably added 10-20hp at the crank from both mods in conjunction.(more from the intake) There are some tunes out now for the N52, and they can add anywhere from 15-20hp on top of that.
This one has 258HP not 266 or 268. In rototest this engine produce 225HP with automatic gearbox, probably 5-10 more with manual transmission is my guess.
It has 258 hp, BHP! Brake Horsepower - It's the horsepower at the crankshaft.
And It might has 207 WHP, what means Wheel Horsepower - It's the power that actually gets to the wheels...From BHP to WHP there is usually about 15% power loss.
@estebanzc123 As mentioned it has 258 "B"hp. The dyno will always quote in wheel horsepower. An average rear wheel drive car will have an approx 15-20% difference in power from the flywheel down to the wheels, normally due to transmission loss. So 20% of 258bhp = 51.6 (0.2 x 258). Subtract this figure (which is the "loss") from 258bhp will give you the wheel horsepower, which equals 206.4 wheel hp, so 207 in the above clip sounds about right.
@thecoveproductions69 you lose power when your hp transfers from the crank to the wheels. stock hp figures are measured at the crank, not the wheels. for instance I have an Infiniti g35 with some extras but it has 240 hp at the wheels measured on a dyno machine. Stock it would be rated at over 300hp. 200 sounds about right for 266 hp. Power is lost at the wheels, thats a fact.
This being on a Dyno Dynamics I am calculating 263-270hp at the crank. I would take it back and have it redone, but i traded her in!

So 258hp in papers is little too optimistic.

this is 200 whp on a dyno dynamics. On a standard dynometer, that would be around 230hp at the wheels

Hi mate what style number are those alloys and are they 18 or 19"?
robbiekhandotcodotuk 2 years ago
18 "

Around 200whp on a dyno dynamics which is 13% lower than most dyno jets

How can it have 200 hp if the 330i has 268hp???

Thats to the wheels im sure

@estebanzc123 i think 2006 330i had 255hp AT THE CRANK and 207whp means 207 hp at the wheels
maxcool0216 5 months ago
@estebanzc123
that's 200 wheel horsepower.. the manufacturer always gives the horsepower rating at the crankshaft, which is always more than at the wheels
GraveDiggerIII 5 months ago
@umcool911ok
yeah my 330i has a lot more than 200hp. Its stock 266hp.
