@supermotardmario that's definitely not how I ride, or the kind of people I ride with. Full suits, race boots, race gloves or else you look like an idiot out here!
cool bike man, would you recommend this bike for a beginner in the sport bike world 06 cbr600rr.? or any suggestions and pointers are highly welcome. i like the way the bike looks that why.
super nice bike. I'm planing on buying a 2009 Suzuki GSXR 1000 or 2009 Honda CBR 1000. Which of the two would u recommend. The cbr 1000 is a lil smaller than other bikes of its same class right? n is it true its a lil uncomfortable for the passenger compaared 2 otha bikes? b4 i wanted 2 get the 2009 yamaha r1 i liked its design but now i like the Suzuki n Honda bikes.
@toneetones well, at least I didn't put a slash cut pipe on my bike like you did. Have fun paying that bill when you're engine blows up around 15k miles...
Thanks for the info. I love hondas but looks like it's time for a switch. Think I'm gonna go with the BMW S1000 RR. impressive! Check out my current bike, search notyourfriend123 on YouTube. It's a silver CBR 600rr.
Hey man. I like the bike. I have a question.. Do you have any oil burning problems? I am about to buy a 08+ cbr1000rr but I'm becoming scared of this problem. And I don't want any other bike. I currently have a 06 cbr600rr.
@Notyourfriend123 I've heard of Honda's having that problem. I check my oil all the time because it does get low for some reason, but can't see it burning or smoking. I had an '05 Repsol that burned oil and eventually crapped the bed. Check the Honda forums for related issues with oil burning
@Notyourfriend123 The problem is Honda's Hydraulic timing belt tensioner. Go see a dealer or a privateer mechanic that knows about performance and have them put a manual tensioner on it, problem solved..the part is 50 bucks and the labor is about 175 bucks. In addition it will save you in the long run from the timing chains swinging in the air when the hydraulic Tensioner breaks. You will also notice a much smoother engine
@Notyourfriend123 Not all these bikes are burners. I know that for 08-09 this is a huge concern, but only a relatively small percentage of these bikes actually burns oil. I check my oil every time I ride, and I've put 2500 miles on my '08 this year without burning any significant amount. If you want to avoid the possibility of getting a burner though, I believe they fixed the problem for the '10 model.
@Notyourfriend123 you must watch how some morons just start a cold bike , and rev it to the rev limmiter. or start cold , and the first straight end they open their throttle wide open, no wonder they start burning oil
and lets not forget the rev limmiter burnouts , (hate burnouts)
if you treat your bike good, ittl treat u good to. if you treat it like shit, ittl do the same to ur wallet and you
@kylafornia24 that was over 3 years ago when the video was taken. Just bout the bike, no money for gear. When the video was taken there was gear on the way. Since then I have two sets of everything. Full leathers, gloves, boots, helmets, everything. I myself have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing some serious crashes and fatalities
Up sides and down sides to this bike from your perspective??? Are there any draw backs or problems you ran into before the bike got stolen? And how many miles were you able to put on it prior to the theft?
my 929rr is ageing face, I think I'll be trading it in for this or the '08-'09 gsxr 1k. Just kind of browsing my options right now.
@Wonderboy0987 upsides: light weight, smooth, comfortable, great brakes, awesome top end and mid range hp, great ergos, awesome clutch (shifts well and fast), flickable and fun to ride.
downsides: seat is too comfortable (hard to feel the rear on the track), fairings and parts are hard to take off/work on and that's about it. I had almost 8k miles before it got stolen. Then I went out and bought an '08 with 2,500 miles in black and silver. Also awesome bike!!
@kylafornia24 Awesome! I appreciate it. Its nice to hear opinions from people who are every day people who ride them rather than read, the informational yet sometimes bias reviews posted online by big name companies and web sites.
@Wonderboy0987 Also.... I saw your video of you on the yellow 929rr. And please don't be offended, but GET SOME FRIGGIN GEAR dude!! I say that as a concerned rider who has had 2 friends die on bikes from wearing sweatshirts, tennis shoes and no jackets. You don't always need a full suit, but for the love of God get some good riding boots, alpinestars sp-2 gloves and a good leather jacket with pads inside. That is all, good day sir.
@kylafornia24 929 owner here total agreed with you sweatshirts and pushbikes are dangerous never mind a beast doing that kinda speeds !its not the speed that kills remember its the sudden stop!!
@Wonderboy0987 if i had 20 bucks for everytime i heard that a bike got stolen i'd be rich. Im thinking about getting one and when i get a bike not only is it gonna be under lock and key, it will have gps on it so right when i kno its stolen i will kno exactly where it is on laptop.

@think6087 Thanx bro, read about the engine break in from Motoman (similar to what you suggested) been riding the bike with RPM's up and down..so far so good and just fitted with slip on Leo Vince GP Pro Evo 2..wooo hoooo..thanx again bro
@krakmxer yup there are professional thieves in LA who troll for these bikes all day. can't get too attached to anything around here, because someone will just steal it.
@theJAZOSH thanx mate, got my bike, still in the 'break ins' period..read about the many ways of engine break ins and not sure which one to follow..any advise on the best engine break ins? by the way, hope you got yourself a good bike by now
@yuzrey Do not keep the bike under 5.5k RPM's for 3,000 miles. It'd probably be a good idea to keep the RPM's low for the first 600ish, but the key is to keep the bike from staying in a constant high RPM. Just go up and down in the RPM's and you'll be fine.
@MrSmellyjim thanks! Too bad this bike got stolen... I got an '08 in silver and black to replace it. Gonna get a set of white and red Pramac fairings soon, which will be better than this '09 for sure. Cheers
I am thinking about getting one, but I see you have a electric start, does that wor as good as the kick start? any recommendation on what type of bike I should look at getting?
Nice bike. I have an '08. Where did you get that rear seat cowl? The black decals are sharp. Did you contact the manufacturers for those? They all look die cut. Sweet.
@rufnusd The rear seat cowl came with the bike via the previous owner along with the tail tiddy kit. But I'm sure he bought from Honda. The black decals came from a seller on eBay who had all the Repsol stickers in all black, so I threw a couple on.
I ordered the black decals from eBay, and the rest are from my local shop Moto Club in Santa Monica. The owner just had a box of left over decals to pick through
@Beast99DE Hahaha... I don't know. The white model is kinda hard to find. Plus I have a lot of parts installed now that aren't on this video like case covers, newer grips, brake lines etc...
@Beast99DE Hahah, not even close dude. Try 11. But even if you did have that in cash, I wouldn't sell. I'm pretty attached to this bike now. Sorry man :(
