This is a correct reaction to this type of scenario. Feining fear, keeping your hands higher than your opponents, then striking with your weapon that's closest to the target. It's an unexpected, stunning blow. Short and quick. No telegraphing. Then follow with a powerful barrage of strikes. Lead with speed, follow with power.
Im not the kind of man giving a sudden attack in this kind of situation.. pretty stupid in my opinion (looks like auto-defense for girls). If you are a real man you better want a real fight instead of jumping like this... thumbs up if you agree.
It's a good tactic ((raising your hands to apologize before suddenly striking) but the strike lacks power. Not a great self-defence tactic in my opinion - as your opponent would most likely be bigger and stronger than you, thus liable to kick your ass even worse than he would have anyway. That would piss most attackers off rather than incapacitate them.
It's difficult to generate the correct amount of power from this angle. At most, you'll piss off your opponent and have a significant problem. With such a short range, you'd be better off grabbing behind the opponents head (with your left hand) and delivering an elbow smash with your right. Foot position will make or break this attack.
@smitty225 i think grabbing from behind the head would telegraph too much, better off with an elbow strke or strike under the chin with the heal of the palm after doing the defensive act shown in the video first..
no power, no follow up, no guarantee he isnt gunna just turn around after and beat your ass! kinda wot i`d expect from a dude that trains to hit people much shorter than himself, lol. pick on a bob your own size!! and learn to hit alot harder!!
To be fair, I think that this is meant to be used as a defence against an unprovoked attack, which are most likely to come from people who are bigger and stronger than their victims. In this case, a few nasty tricks, low blows, and cheap shots (more effective ones than these) may well be all that can save you from being hammered to a pulp for absolutely no reason, by some inadequate dickhead who likes to show how tough he is by beating on easy targets.
@soundbomb1 No it's never okay to fight dirty. You're a coward if you do. You can win a fight against someone who is bigger and stronger than you using regular techniques, which is essentially the entire point of fight training. If you think you're going to lose the fight then either have the courage to fight knowing you might lose or don't fight at all. There is no excuse for fighting dirty.
@zballer4lyfe I agree with you as long as you talk about a duel rather than a fight.
When life is in danger and I'm forced in a fight, it's not a matter of honor. I fight as hard as I can even using more "powerful weapons" (i.e. even a glass bottle, or a wooden pole, is effective against bare hands)
"hey hey whats the problem dude lemme buy you a drink, its allright seriously"
Bob: "-Yeah allright i guess i was wrong to...*pow* aack dirty rat" *headbutt*

But if you do it correctly.. I mean yeah the head and elbow would be more effective. but if you cant get the head then your in trouble.

lol you fight like a bitch
looking like you don't want to fight so you can blind side him?
keeping your hands open and close to his face so you can sucker punch him?
And you go on to say you don't want to get sued. If it was really self-defense you wouldn't need to worry about getting sued.
Next you're going ot go into detail on how to kick him in the nuts when he's not looking.
This is nothing more than a pussies guide on how to get through a fight like a shameless coward.
