Funny thing I've noticed growing up around a ton of WWII vets {dad included}---they never liked to speak of the war.

Only through sneakery of private memoirs did I find out that my dad was credited with sinking Japanese barges in the Solomons, and that quiet Mr. S down the street went out on a phenomenal amount of submarine missions, or that the recently deceased town representive had a bronze star as a small side note in his obituary.

Know that lots of heroic action will remain untold.
