what song is playing at 4:59 (:? besides "i need a beat"
and i really love this mix! for someone like me who unfortunately did not get to live in the time period of old school hip hop, this is a great introduction to this awesomness (:!
Now this was the way I recall it when it was all BRAND NEW, and old skewl was actually not having hip hop at all. I am 41 years old and grew up with all of this and grandmasterflash and others... MEGAmix = at least ten tracks in ten minutes or less. :) All about the LYRICS not the Crap that we have today to bore us to death with.
I just can't find nowhere The Beginning (No Further Delay) feat. Method Man by Run-DMC that goes on from 7:58 to 8:46. Anyone has the link? Thanks in advance ;)

I remember being in Italy as a Militery brat and getting tapes back in like 82-83 from WBLS and KISS and we passed them around like they were gold this and the first one is what I fiend for even at 40 and over 50,000 records. This is nuts man good stuff here.

Looking forward to Part 3. Keep bangin' y'all, I have to go shake out my sheep skin.
@dlemma74 Yo, GrandSinister Ice has been busy lately scrubbin his Baby Blue suede Pumas with a tooth brush. He just finished ironing his fat laces to the crisp!
We appreciate the props indeed. We dedicate MegaMix One and Two to all true heads and pioneers. This is the life of Hip Hop culture. It is about the 5th element of Hip Hop: THE PEOPLE! From the streets, with the streets, for the streets, and the pulse of its people!
Funky fresh indeed boogieboxx. This is tight but I wouldn't expect anything less after that first dope mix. Keep it funky and I can't wait for the next one :)
@Murphyd0g Thank you Brotha! Part Three will be due later this year. GrandSinister Ice is taking his time as usual (because we have extensive day jobs). What I he has told the rest of OSS is that PART THREE is going to be dedicated to all B-Boys and B-Girls and Funk Styles dancers around the world. Yes it will be a Mega Mix over 122 BPM. Expect OSS to petition for user submitted BBoy footage to blend in the mix. This one will be all live clips.
Our reply to SaraScratch translated from Japanese: "We love those two kids! We wanted to honor Ryusei and Sara because they are our future potential legends. What they have already grasped is already phenomenal and inspiring to everyone. Old School Scholar are their fans for life!"
@bboyjav84 The recipe for successful classic Hip Hop is putting the FUN back in FUNK. When we first got the mix by GrandSinister Ice, neckbraces were provided in case we got whiplash from extensive head nodding.
@RealRapAndHiphp I Need a Beat by LL. It is the 12 inch remix. The bassline is actually a layer from another track which escapes me. I will have to contact GrandSinister Ice to create a track outline for this song too. We are going to be blasted for answers.
@Triton88Keyz Thank you, Triton. You may share our works with whomever you like. That is the beauty of real Hip Hop and Creative Commons together. This is all about the message to bring people into remembrance and educate the youth that Hip Hop is something you live.
Big up Scholar! I enjoyed that....especially seeing that Critical Beatdown Album cover. I really thought that Album marked the end of it all when it came out cos how could anyone top that? Kings of Pressure nearly topped it though (Tales from the dark side, mind yer business, etc). Anyway, don't stop cos what goes around......
@Globalfaction You know we had to add anything from Ultra Magnetic! They are the prototype artists for sampling beats. They are the first kids on the block to do it with Superstition and even on Bait. They were the bomb squad before The Bomb Squad in production. The most underrated Hip Hop music groups and artists of all time. Yo Kings of Pressure was dope. Tales From The Darkside was like some pre-GraveDiggers funk!
THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Rap does not hold a fucking CANDLE to hip-hop. Anyone who hasn't been brainwashed by the money-grubbing devils that run the mainstream music industry nowadays would know that. I consider myself fortunate to be a 17-year-old who has gotten exposed to the likes of REAL hip-hop emcees, such as Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, Rakim, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Kurtis Blow, Spoonie Gee, T La Rock and early LL Cool J. Thank you for making this video, and God bless.
@BigLupeRakimDee2 Bless you, Bro. We are an example of why Hip Hop is not dead because it is family like you who are hungry to eat more of it. By natural progression you got the baton in your hands to run with it. Now, go run as far as you can see with it and have FUN!
@OldSchoolScholar: Thank you very much. Your compliments are considerably meaningful, because many of the people I know who are in my age group don't share an equal or similar appreciation of the music, unfortunately, perhaps due to exposure to acts far inferior to the ones showcased in this video (rappers who can't think of anything even remotely poignant to talk about in a song, only discussing trivial things like sex, violence, rims, clubs, and money). And I definitely will.
Please forgive us for this video's tardiness. The Old School Scholar staff has each experience personal setbacks from being consistent with our content. Thanks to GrandSinister Ice we had another wonderful mix for the world to indulge. If you are an experienced DJ you would know how difficult it is to find tracks on wax with this tempo. It is not your usual 110, 120, or 98bpm mixes. Ice obviously exceeded our expectations. I hope he did for you all too!
@IllPropaganda Thank you. We could not wait to deliver new good to our good YouTube friends! You guys are the first to see and hear this. The mix will be uploaded shortly on the website. We will notify you soon.
This was not but, is still one of the memoriable true Old school Hip hop vs Rap videos of the decades...

@DJGIMS3000 So was my house. Just got the A/C replaced yesterday. Miami with no A/C is hell.
