Doesn't necessarily mean Lebron is the better "player". He does well when it comes to individual stats, but in terms of getting your team involved there's no real equal. Larry can move without the ball and space the floor, which changes the complexity of the offense, much more multi-dimensional than Lebron's drive-ins and kick-outs. And I would reckon that Tayshaun's the best chasedown blocker of the past 10 years.

It feels so much better to make a nice pass and get others involved than just making a nice bucket selfishly. Bird had such good awareness and court vision and he was so humble with basically no ego. Most guys would just go up for a layup at 1:40 and get blocked or get fouled and not even see the guy or care about him at 1:41 for the easy 2.

It is a shame that so much of that 1980's, Lakers-Cetics Rivalry was and is seen by many fans in terms of race and that is because it distracts from both the quality of play, the brilliance of the stars and also the role players (Guys as good as Dennis Johnson and Michael Cooper were role players) and it distracts from the fact that no duet of rivals was or has been as good. Think of any other pair of teams during any other NBA season, I cannot think of a better overrall pair of squads.
