The Police actually borrowed Civilian model M4's from a local gun shop, however SWAT took them down with assalt rifles. very true, i dont own an ak(i love my ar)but have fired a few of them, the recoil is the biggest downside, highly reliable, cheaply made, affordable. overall great gun, in this case shot by owners, not shooters..i shoot a lot..just not in this manner haha.

It's not hard to become preterite like these guys, stone cold, phenobarbitol popping, cop-killing, they weren't even well trained with their weapons beyond knowing how to fire and reload. if you saw the documentary about them on the history channel you would know that they weren't well trained at all. They basically used "spray and pray" firing, and when you have rounds that go through cars, it's not hard to hit people when you're firing like that.

You definately have to consider the different types of weapons that where being used. The Police actually borrowed Civilian model M4's from a local gun shop, however SWAT took them down with assalt rifles. I believe if the police had weapons of a similar range and power these two guys would have been down in seconds. Also the criminals where wearing armour and the officers where initially not

i think the main reason they were put in a movie, was the way it was shocking on footage. i mean if the news chopper wasnt there, we probably wouldnt even have the movie or the vision of it. there was something similar, 3 dudes with m16 or m4's in a loaded van were trying to escape and tak down cops. but if we had a footage about that, it would be the same situatuion with this shootout. but just sayin, my opinion
