Battlefield 3 will probably out-last COD. At least on the PC. It's a true PC game, outside of a poorly designed UI. I have a blast, the community is awesome (so much better, generally older as well) and I've built my entire channel on BF3 videos and its going well. The very idea of playing MW3 (after playing Blops for 20 days and MW2 about the same) is so unappealing I can't even articulate it.
This game is designed for PC. DX11, quad core's, $400 GPU's, 64 player on ultra graphics....not shitty arse console hardware.....if you have ever played BF3 on PC then you will know that it makes MW3 in particular look like cheap badly developed childish shit... MW3 and CoD with all its sales has never been so stagnant and dead....all the while 64 player conquest has 10 times the intensity than slow head glitching corner trolling CoD gameplay...
So, by saying "these games are not westernized" you're saying BF3 requires too much awareness and intelligence to play? Face it, cod is dying quickly. Sure, its selling way more than other fps titles, but that has so much to do with boys 10-18. I play both of these games and really like them. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be BF3. To me playing BF3 requires more strategic decisions rather than just running around with duel wield FMGs in COD. I believe the reason why people don't catch on to BF3 is because they are so use to rushing and getting easy kills in COD that when they play BF3 they get rapped because they aren't use to taking it slow and think about what they are doing. I'm not saying BF3 is better, i just prefer it.

I didn't like this game at first. I thought it took forever to find people and it was slow and boring then I learned how to play. The majority of the time I spawn right in to the action unless I don't want to so it can be just as fast paced as COD. I also prefer chess over checkers so to each his own.

They don't steal CODs formula because they feel as though it is inferior, and I agree. Being a fan of both, i feel like I'm taking a step "backwards" when I play COD. BF3 IMO is the better game in terms of quality and so, DICE believing this, will never steal what they think is an "inferior" idea.
Upon retrospect I do see where fist is coming from. He played Modern Combat which was designed for console and it had that feel. Just like people who played Bad Company and 1943, those two were also designed with console in mind. BF3 is a port, that is limited by hardware unlike the 3 MC, BC and 1943 so it might not have that feel like it was made for the system.
Hopefully the new consoles will be better suited for the Frostbite engine. Might've came on as a bit of an ass in my previous posts.

That game wasn't even developed by DICE. Battlefield 3 on console was an attempted port from the PC but because of the hardware of the consoles it was limited. The Bad Company series was an experiment as admitted by DICE, basically a Frostbite Engine test.
DICE is NOT going to change the core Battlefield series into one of their spin-offs. They'll implement things but a total change isn't going to happen.
@TheGodhand79 and with the new consoles coming out, they won't be handicapped by hardware limitations as they were with the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Better hardware means more players, more fps (which was one of the complaints from console players), etc. Closer to how it's being played on PC.
The problem is not the game. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was developed to play on the Xbox and it works good there. Battlefield 3 was PC and suffers on the console because of HARDWARE.
Whenever I see or hear people bitching and complaining about which game is better, I laugh and cry. I laugh because its entertaining. I cry because it makes me realize that this is what the world has come to. What's next? Bitching and complaining about which cover art looks better? I mean seriously people. I am just playing MW3 tell GTA 5 comes out. It will own both MW3 AND Bf3 IT will make more sells and more money and be the biggest game in gaming history. I love the online in gta4 witch i am a beast at! In all game types. But I like MW3 cuz its just fun and its a good game to play along side gta4 tell the holy of all holy games come out, GTA 5!

I disagree with the majority of your points, but what I do agree with , is the fucking respawn timer and the fact you have to watch the dipshit that killed you run around. A respawn timer should only be in the hardcore mode, while in normal it should be instant. Pisses me off when I play this game.
Some people love ORIGINALITY. Do you know how many games tried to copy the COD formula and FAILED? Socom 4...Failed. Resistance 3...failed. Most hardcore gamers don't want a easy to pick up and play game. They would rather put in time and effort to actually get good. Westernizing a game like this would mean the end of BF. It is your opinion, that I can respect but its BF hardcore fan base is what keeps the game and community alive and its still growing. Most people got their money's worth

@lordsangone couldn't agree more. On console, BF3 sucks dick. IMO the servers got far worse, where as on BFBC2 they were sublime. Everytime, except for the first month. I got a fair go. Not anymore. Sure there is a server browser, but the connections fluctuate every lobby. Online is inconsistent. BF3 has a nicer controller synchonisation, that's it. The older Frostbite engine for BFBC2 was superior and smoother. Gun balance and game physics were better too. BF3 is a step backward.

I didn't like this game at first. I thought it took forever to find people and it was slow and boring then I learned how to play. The majority of the time I spawn right in to the action unless I don't want to so it can be just as fast paced as COD. I also prefer chess over checkers so to each his own.

Upon retrospect I do see where fist is coming from. He played Modern Combat which was designed for console and it had that feel. Just like people who played Bad Company and 1943, those two were also designed with console in mind. BF3 is a port, that is limited by hardware unlike the 3 MC, BC and 1943 so it might not have that feel like it was made for the system.
Hopefully the new consoles will be better suited for the Frostbite engine. Might've came on as a bit of an ass in my previous posts.

That game wasn't even developed by DICE. Battlefield 3 on console was an attempted port from the PC but because of the hardware of the consoles it was limited. The Bad Company series was an experiment as admitted by DICE, basically a Frostbite Engine test.
DICE is NOT going to change the core Battlefield series into one of their spin-offs. They'll implement things but a total change isn't going to happen.

Better hardware means more players, more fps (which was one of the complaints from console players), etc. Closer to how it's being played on PC.
The problem is not the game. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was developed to play on the Xbox and it works good there. Battlefield 3 was PC and suffers on the console because of HARDWARE.

I disagree with the majority of your points, but what I do agree with , is the fucking respawn timer and the fact you have to watch the dipshit that killed you run around. A respawn timer should only be in the hardcore mode, while in normal it should be instant. Pisses me off when I play this game.

Some people love ORIGINALITY. Do you know how many games tried to copy the COD formula and FAILED? Socom 4...Failed. Resistance 3...failed. Most hardcore gamers don't want a easy to pick up and play game. They would rather put in time and effort to actually get good. Westernizing a game like this would mean the end of BF. It is your opinion, that I can respect but its BF hardcore fan base is what keeps the game and community alive and its still growing. Most people got their money's worth

The game isnt hard at all to pick up, its just people are so used to COD fucking spoon feeding them their kills, that when they actually have to, you know, aim and take recoil and bullet spread into account, they call the game a failure. After 10 million BF3 sales, its safe to say well still be seeing Battlefield games for a long time.

i disagree. using cod ideas was the biggest mistake on dice's part. this game has lost alot of the bf feel. i mean that is why i left cod cause it got repetitive. bfbc2 was the best transition from cod. but from bfbc2 to bf3 has been kinda rough. they should of used more of bfbc2 ideas instead of cod. wat is bf without the vehicles on large maps and destruction, its called operation metro. lol. wat is up with the usas frags? it was bad enough in bfbc2 and now they add frag? wtf. updates please!!

@lordsangone couldn't agree more. On console, BF3 sucks dick. IMO the servers got far worse, where as on BFBC2 they were sublime. Everytime, except for the first month. I got a fair go. Not anymore. Sure there is a server browser, but the connections fluctuate every lobby. Online is inconsistent. BF3 has a nicer controller synchonisation, that's it. The older Frostbite engine for BFBC2 was superior and smoother. Gun balance and game physics were better too. BF3 is a step backward.
