depends what kind of effect you want> lomos give a very old skool analog effect and you have to buy film and get it developed. the lca is way mor compact than a dslr. the nikon d3000 is good if you want to take loads of photos and have more creative control over your photos. I'd advise to get the d3000 first and then later buy a cheap lca off ebay
