  • This scene is a terrific microcosm of the Miranda character, who was so smart, so tough and usually right. And to whom many people *would* respond as Carrie does, because Miranda was also arrogant, aggressive and insensitive. She'd jump in her self-righteous bus and steamroll right over people, like she did with Steve. Multiple times, including in the SATC movie where she took little to no responsibility for *why* he cheated on her.

  • Has there been any female nose-blowing from any of the four girls?

  • ... thumbs up .. ^^ lool... :) sometimes friends know what is best for you sometimes they don't... true friends are the ones that will always be there for you even when you mistake, and also will be there for you to help you make the right choices... , the real ones will also tell you to follow your emotions and feelings , because they will be there If you fall or you mistake ..I am blessed with such people :) <3

  • Did Carrie ever lose an argument?

  • sorry you guys can hate what i'm about to say....!

only thing that good about Carrie is all her shoes and some of her outfits... i really hate her, she got a big ego, it is always about her, all the time.

Miranda is so truthful to Carrie right there, it needed to be said to Carrie about her whining. if her bestfriend wouldn't say it, then who can say it.

i love Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, they are the best in SATC.

I'm sorry if you don't like this sentence. But Carrie is a whining bitch.

  • @StarCraftfreakgirl AT LAST SOMEONE HATES CARRIE AS MUCH AS I DO! Seriously she is worst character in the whole series. Her whole dysfunctional relationship with Big was so god damn annoying. And she just kept going back for more like some bitch with stockholm syndrome.

  • Miranda is not judgemental this time AT ALL and this wasn't just one little sign of weakness because Carrie used to check her backbone at the door as soon as she knew that Big was around. Carrie didn't do this with other men like poor Aidan but she'd always throw away her backbone for Big! It was perplexing! Why???

  • @jrmetmoi Don't people ususally do that for the people you feel the most for? It's easy to be strong with men you don't feel as strongly about, but someone you love whose love you've wanted to desperately for so long, you keep giving more and more of yourself waiting for it to be reciprocated. It's easy to be judgmental of people, but every woman who experiences love at some point in her life has been or will be a fool for love. There is no exception to that rule.

  • @GirlieRat This is why you have to stop being the fool one day. It's about respect and it has to go hand in hand. There was no reciprocity most of the time with Big, and it was sort of disgusting after a while seeing how Carrie would just eat up all the crap from it. And by the time of the first movie, Carrie hung around for ten years for Big to marry her. Although, I guess you could say that maybe Carrie didn't care if Big married her or not as long as they lived together, I dunno...

  • @jrmetmoi I HATED Big, loved Aidan and hated what Carrie did to him. I did not want to see her with Big. I used to say "Guys don't jerk you around for 10 years and then suddenly commit faithfully". But if I recall he never cheated on her, he was just an overgrown boy, and he grew up. He got it. For all Miranda's judgments, she's the one who got cheated on, so how much did she really know and how strong was she really because she took Steve back. Was she a "fool" for doing that?

  • @GirlieRat One could argue that Miranda had more reason to want to reconcile with Steve. They had a child and were a family unit. What did Carrie and Big have? Big was always the most interested in Carrie when she was with someone else.

  • @jrmetmoi Sometimes you have to know when you have someone who is good and needs understanding and patience (like with Miranda and Steve) and when you have someone who just doesn't want to change. I saw in the second movie that Big and her actually do have an understanding of one another. When Carrie confessed to him, he said to her that he gets that she's just not used to being married. That's when I saw there is genuine genuine understanding that she never had with anyone else.

  • @jrmetmoi Outsiders would look and Miranda and call her a fool for taking Steve back because "once a cheater, always a cheater" but it's not for the rest of the world to tell you what you see in someone or what you feel. Sometimes people looking from the outside-in is a good thing. Other times, it's not. Because outsiders don't necessarily know what is between two people or why. Things aren't black and white, there is a gray area.

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS EPISODE? please :D I know is from season 3 but is the name?

  • @Kevinxxxzzz Cock-A-Doodle-Doo

  • I am a Miranda. I know I am too judgmental of people and tend to write people off very quickly and get irritated when others can't see the same flaws and take the same steps as I do. But this actually helped me to realize that I need to change that. I get both sides equally here, but, Miranda just said what needed to be said in a way that hit home for Carrie since when it came to Big, her head was always in the clouds.

  • @GirlieRat I am the same way, very critical of others and sometimes I dont even like my friends. ugh!

  • @GirlieRat Miranda was not too judgemental and usually on the show she'd always turn out to be right. If one is a lawyer just like if one is a police detective, then one should be able, sooner or later, to really read into people's behavior, their habits, and their REAL ways and patterns, and then call it as one sees it. It shouldn't be too hard after a while.

  • @jrmetmoi Well, this time she wasn't right because they wound up happily married. Miranda even apologized in this episode stating that she "has no idea what is good" for Carrie. Miranda (like me) cares so much that she tends to fault others for not being as strong-willed or quick to cut people off or for merely handling things in the way she can. Carrie had a point, not everyone is like that. Some people are more vulnerable and take longer to get things. Miranda was judgmental.

  • @GirlieRat Married after 10 odd years. Miranda doesn't cut off Carrie for her weakness just like that, right out of the gate. Miranda reveals how she really feels after a lot of hoopla when Big cheated on his SECOND wife with Carrie, and Miranda logically would just see a lot of back and forth stringing along unless Carrie put her foot down. She already sorta lost one woman her tooth (it ALMOST could have been hers!), WHEN was she ever gonna get the message? LOL It just wasn't worth it to me.

  • @jrmetmoi People who are so "attuned to people's behavior" tend to overlook emotions. Miranda did that all of the time. I hated Big. But in the end, they had something real. Whether you or I or Miranda thought it was "logical" is irrelevant. Carrie always knew what she felt, Miranda was too "practical" to see that and so judgments arose. That was the only way she knew how to look at a situation, pragmatically, not emotionally. In life, we need both. She got that by the end of the episode.

  • @GirlieRat The only real thing regarding Big, was the way he strung Carrie along, and Miranda was just being a friend. OK you're emotional and you have your emotions. But when you go right back into the same line not to pay for shoes, or be served up a slice of cake, but only to be served up a slice of crap over and over again, that alone would grate on anybody's nerves. Miranda didn't pick on weaknesses, she was just tired of seeing what always came afterward. This WASN'T Carrie's first time.

  • @jrmetmoi I can appreciate all of that, and I never said she picked on anyone's weaknesses, I said her character was one that was not really tolerant of others who didn't do as she would do, or behave as she would. Just because she'd be strong enough to give a guy the boot the minute something went awry, she felt anyone else should "get it" as fast as she did, and life doesn't work that way. I am not saying what she SAID was wrong, I said that what Carrie said was also true.

  • Truth is, I have been in Mirandas position couple of years ago, and now I feel like Carrie. Either way, it made me remember how awful it was to feel like Miranda having this friend (which would be me now) who's not even trying to get over someone. Weird but, it kinda opened my eyes.

  • strange how carrrie had steves back

  • I know this show by heart, But what episode is this???

  • I wish Miranda had just said Carrie I don't want to talk about it, it upsets me.

  • I just had the exact same fight with my friend.

  • this was good

  • miranda was just being a good friend here but i spose she cud have done it in a nicer way but thats just he character carry didnt like he truth because shes a self centred person and needed to be told the fact that she thought miranda wud have left a apology msg when she got home prooved that

  • @xxxtaneciaxxx big fucks with carrie's mind so much that miranda needed to be that harsh! carrie needed to hear that big isnt good for her cuz she cant see that herself and the mirandas the only one thats gonna tell her that!

  • @tyryryrrr i agree carry was so blind when it came to big and the thats why the truth hurt so much!

  • " Wake up Carrie how many more times are you gonna go through this,he is bad for you, Jesus everyone time you get near him you turn into this pathetic needy insecure victim, and the thing that pisses me off the post is that your more than willing to go back for more." Truer words have never been spoken. Carrie needed to hear that miranda, dont feel bad :D

  • @sesskag17 I think she should have stopped with "he is bad for you."

  • Miranda was just a really good friend. A good and true friend say in your face that you're terrible wrong!

  • Anybody knows the name of the shop here? Thanks !

  • Comment removed

  • miranda would have left an apology on my machine - thats typical carrie bradshaw there.. needy, pathetic, self involved character.

  • funny how everyone calls him big

  • When a friend sees your future , they never wait there and let you get hurt so they can be there for you. Miranda was right...

  • miranda said that because she`s a good friend and dont want to see carrie being hurt by big again.

  • is this stretched? they both look bigger then they are.

  • miranda shouldnt have been that way. a real friend is willing to be there to pick you up when your crying...

  • @tinkerbellstar18 i don't agree with you...

  • Both women have good points, and it was a fight that needed to happen b/c they are both accurate in their accusations of each other. I love when Carries says "Peo... Some of us make mistakes." Well acted.

  • @mlc2005 .. Big has a big advantage in his relationship with Carrie he can treat her like trash whenever he wants because Carrie is always willing to be back for more.

  • Carrie did not make a mistake...it was yet another bad decision. Miranda was right. Carrie was trying to justify her poor actions.

  • @mlc2005 some of us make mistakes.. but repeatedly? thats Miranda's assertation. Keep making the same mistake and she is tired being the baby sitter for Carrie when she falls apart. But again, Carrie is needy. Sometimes, its nice to have Miranda-type as a friend so there is someone checking us up.

  • @mlc2005 No, no, no. Carrie HAD no good points here at all! She could just never wake up from her stupid Big-amnesia that she had! LOL She was so lost she couldn't recognize a guy like Aidan putting her on a pedestal She went ker-razy that time! Carrie didn't wake up the foolishness from it until she finally decided to go out with Baryshnikov's character.

  • Carrie IS pathetic and needy. She needed to be told off. She's been whining about Big through the WHOLE DAMN SERIES. I'd be sick of it, too.

  • @hothotheat3000 i know right 6 years of that hearing that shit would drive me nuts as a friend especially when the outcome of dysfuntion usually happens miranda owned this scene

  • @hothotheat3000 AGREED.

  • My best friend and one of her many ex's used to be like Carrie and Big.

  • And I was Miranda (in this part)

  • put a candle in a cupcake and throw yourself a party

  • Already did ;)

  • yawn

  • I also dont think anyone can get away with a "Hang in there Baby" halter top ... ha ha ha

  • carrie doesnt get it does she? geez, mirandas right, absolutely right. Carrie can be pretty pathetic sometimes.

  • Carrie is being so selfish here, because she actually DOES expect Miranda to just let her winge about Big again while he uses Carrie as his bimbo... and how does she respond to Miranda telling it like it is? She insults her with a comment about Steve!

I hate Carrie's "I... I can't believe you would say that to me!"

    Well, it's true! I'm on Miranda's side.

  • This is also one of my favorite scenes in the entire series, and probably my favorite episode.... the acting in this scene is excellent! I always thought SJP should have submitted this epp for emmy.

  • My friend did this to me and things got ugly between us... she would always point out all the wrong shit i was doing and she always acted as if she were perfect....we dont speak anymore because i couldnt take it anymore.. i told her off... whenever i see her around she gives me dirty looks ive let it go but she hates me or something.

  • Good for you. I will not be surprised if your friend will feel incredibly guilty in a few years once she takes a good look at her behavior and how she treated you.

  • Hey thanks! I'm sure she will, i know i feel bad for the mean things i told her but i've moved on! and its funny i saw her just last week she went into my work and of course she was acting like a lil girl, giving me dirty looks i just ignored her i'm too old for that crap. lol.

  • In reality smart people like Miranda are always better off than people like Carrie.

  • Exactly you have let it go...... thats the reason why you keep writing about her here again and again..and you have let it go but you still keep noticing the ugly looks she gives you and mentioning it here and god knows where else..

  • Yes I have let it go -the drama, the insults, the negativity she would always have.. maybe you don't understand because you havent had friends from childhood like her and i were...and it sucks because at one point me and her were like sisters....AND if i want to mention it here or anywhere else its my business its not a big deal I dont lose sleep over this or anything..i was just relating to the video.

  • Well I sure have had friends but I know where to draw the line, I have also had friends who would call each other... like, we are brothers, we are soulmate.. and after few months something happens and then they dont even want to see each others faces. My girlfriend would always say her roommate is like an elder sister and she is the best, in 8 weeks that elder sister threw her out of the house. I dont know why people have to unnecessarily call someone their brother/sister/soulmate.

  • @BeRealPlease ... Oh my god.. you started again... ha ha ha ... I can believe this ...

  • I'm not sure what you're talking about.. but whatever it is YES BELIEVE IT AND GET OVER IT! :) ciao.

  • Only true friends can be that honest! And Carrie and Miranda ARE true friends, so it think it's ok that they talked like that to each other.

  • I agree. To that I'll add only true friends would make the effort to tell you some uncomfortable perspectives. It's so easier to keep quiet and not risk rocking the boat, but a real friend will take that risk

  • because the image is stretched

  • ugh this just happened recently w/ my friend!

  • Both of them are right about each other in this one. I liked this scene. It was so human.

  • "Oh I can't even believe you would say that to me!"

Boo freakin' hoo, Carrie. Like it was a huge surprise.

  • i love this fight.....it's such a realistic fight between friends....Carrie and Miranda are both totally in character

  • she completely caught miranda off guard wit that zinger at 2:44 lol..."what!!"

  • right on miranda and i dont have a problem with her tone either friends fight all the time, sometimes you get sick of your friends hellbent on train wreck relationships then come to you for guidance, that does get annoying lol

  • miranda is like soo right!!

    i dont like big anymore!!

  • I can comprehend both of their viewpoints.

  • i love this fight! and i love the big one with carrie and charlotte over money!

  • what do u mean??

    when what episode or season?

  • It was after Carrie broke up with Aidan for the final time and Aidan moved out and Carrie was financially unstable. She needed a loan to help keep her apartment and Miranda and Samantha both offered and Charlotte did not offer. Carrie got miffed and confronted her as to why she would not have offered. Charlotte told her that she was a grown woman and her financial woes were her own issue to deal with. It's in the Fourth Season and the episode is entitled "Ring a Ding Ding".

  • miranda is right

  • oh god everygirl has once in her life been in carries shoes and in mirandas when its you you just dont get it and wh nits not you you dont get how people can amke that mistake again

  • HAHA! This happened in the movie!!!

  • miranda did the same shit in the movie loved it though

  • I just had this exact same fight with my best friend about two weeks ago. It's something you really don't want to go through, it's tough.

  • I hate seeing friends fight.

  • Lol, i love Miranda's reaction when Carrie fires back with that "Steve" shot!! "WHAT"!!!

  • Miranda is dead on, it would be frustrating listening to someone rationalize like that. How is she being mean, when Carrie is being such a doormat and then gets mad at her for not saying what she wanted to hear?

  • I loved the fact that Miranda brought that up and Carrie is a door mat for Big. I think at the end she realized that and was ready to move on with the Russian

  • Do you know where I can find the episode when Carrie and Charlotte have a fight about the ring ? Thank you ;-)

  • sure, that episode is called Ring-A-Ding-Ding. u could probly find it just by typing it up

  • Thank you !!!

  • Does anyone know what thrift store they are shopping at? I would really like to know so I can go there :)

  • If you'r talking about how big Miranda looked from behind when she walked away I noticed that to, but she's not fat at all I think there was a trick mirror in the store that or the camera was doing something freaky. The point is she's not fat in any way.

  • Uh. I think that illusion is because it's "widescreen"? Duh?

  • and what are you? a size zero?

  • the joke was evident :P

  • One of my favourite scenes of the whole series. I loooooove Miranda

  • I sympathize with Miranda here. Carrie is unable to simply be frieds with Big (and vise versa). They end up having affairs or back together and she gets her heart broken, time and time again. Miranda is expresing her exasperation in how Carrie never seems to learn from this.

  • Carrie insists "I'm not starting up with Big again", but ofcourse, we all know that she does.

  • @Azzaelea Yeah I loved Carrie when the show was still going on but I hated a certain part of her in retrospect and it was the part of Carrie that let Big walk all over her time and time again and left ehr hanging for 10 years, but when Aidan came along TWICE and put her on a pedestal she just threw that all away!!

  • @Azzaelea Yeah I loved Carrie when the show was still going on but I hated a certain part of her in retrospect and it was the part of Carrie that let Big walk all over her time and time again and left her hanging for 10 years, but when Aidan came along TWICE and put her on a pedestal she just threw that all away!!

  • I like to see girls fight, but not when it looks like it hurts. Weird, huh.

  • what episode is this from? cause I have season 3 and i can't find this..if you could just give me the name of the episode, that would be great :D

  • it's the one with the rooster..therefore, i think it's "cock a doodle do" or something..though you probably have found it by now

  • This is episode 18 Season 4. Carrie and Big fall in the water, and they decide to JUST BE FRIENDS. But they have sex in Season 5 episode 6 or 7, but they dont show anything because SJP was preggers in real life so we were JIPPED! But you know Season 6 they reunite.......... Then there is the movie, and I wont spoil it for you. It was fucking awesome but I dont know if you will hate Big or understand.

  • No this is Season 3 episode 18. But funny thing S4 episode 18, Carrie tried to sleep with Big and Miranda didnt like it then either.

  • carrie made miranda cry!!

  • Awesome scene!

  • I love this scene and how Carrie sticks up for herself. Miranda always had a way of putting others down as she was offering advice, but couldn't hear the truth about herself. Her exit (the walk) is terrible, very awkward...Carrie shows how to exit or walk away from a fight in the episode Splat! ( Season 6 Carrie & Miranda part 2)

  • Poor miranda! She was only trying to protect carrie and carrie's response is only backlashe in response to miranda!! Miranda is being selfless and helpful, and Carries is just being Selfish

  • I hate Big, I just hate him, why didnt he abandone the show for gods sake?

  • yet she ended up with mr.big in the end

  • They both acted really well in that scene. I am glad Cynthia finally won her Emmy, it was long overdue.

  • Carrie is so estupid

she always do the same thing

  • Carrie's most sassy at the 2:04 head turn! LOL

  • Please upload more!!!!

  • they are both have their point but poor miranda is trying to protect carrie

  • I sympathize with Miranda. I have this one friend who always makes the most horrible decisions when it comes to men. If you're truly friends with that person, then it's very frustrating to them go down that road the second time around.

  • M is right but she did it in a mean way.

  • "it's not a huge mistake, it's lunch!

  • M is right.

  • miranda is not being very nice. blehh.

  • I love this! I was going to upload this, but I am glad you did.

  • You're welcome :-)

  • Thanks for uploading but if you can, please post the season or episode titles. This is Season 4 not 3.

  • No I forgot this is season 3 episode 18. called Cock a doodle do. It was the season finale. I get it mixed it up because Carrie/Big were getting together in the season 4 finale and Miranda DIDNT want it to happen either but she had Brady, and Carrie left Big on the carriage on there last night togther.
