When I was in choir as a kid, we all had to be robotic and move stupidly to the 4/4 beat that we were given. I am so very thankful you let your students be as fluid as the music allows them to. This shows their individuals souls shining through, and beautifully at that. Once again, Gregg, you rock for letting them be free!
Good lord, when I filter out the noise, this rendition just sends chills up my spine. Can you imagine having Tori Amos and the PS 22 Chorus redo this song using full orchestration in a professional studio. Now that would be a day to relive over and over.
I adore Tori Amos, and PS22...I sang in choirs all through school, from grade school to college. And I'm still creating today, in various mediums. I think the concept of having these lovely kids covering modern songs in this context is brilliant. And that it's worth being a silent audience member if you have the privledge to hear them live. Too bad this audience doesn't concur...What a shame. Otherwise a brilliant upload! Thanks so much...keep singing and rocking out!
If something that should be this moving ever becomes a moment when I could not care enough to shut up during the performance...someone snuff me, please.
These kids are absolutely amazing. You guys should take pride in knowing you're touching every single one of their lives. Great job! This is so amazing!
It sounds as if they were singing at a dinner - maybe a fundraiser? How horrible that many audience members could talk during the performance!

Beautiful harmony and wonderful arrangement. Wish adults in the background were more respectful of the talent offered them.
