Great choice of tunes! LOL! Man, this one came out during my sophomore year in college. I think I still have it on vinyl somewhere around here. Cirith Ungol, Tank, the Rods -- just about any band that never got any airplay. Once again, great choice. Thanks for posting it.

Cirith Ungol. One of a kind. Great, great band. Glad to see that they're finally gaining the respect they have so long deserved. Too little. Too late. But good nonetheless. Ungol forever!
so good to hear this again i used to have the album got lost along with countless others i really have to get some of my collection back, ive never heard another band quite like them a real shame that they never made it bigger but there legacy as they say lives on.
@ThrashFkinFillets - The guy with the sword on EVERY official CU studio release is Elric of Melniboné, a character in books by Michael Moorcock. The pictures were painted by artist Michael Whelan, first appeared as Moorcock's bookcovers, and CU paid for their use. Another point: the Chaos symbol on this album cover between the name and the album title (8 arrows radiating outward) is from Moorcock's books. If you like Conan, check these Elric of Melniboné stories out. Cheers! Keep it HEAVY!
@Slaughterschinken Just a question: how epic is hell? I never found out, please tell me, it may be interesting :-D ...............Don't take this personal brother, my question is meant a a joke!!!
Celtic Frost gave a shout out to Cirith Ungol in the credits of an early album, I think Morbid Tales... Cirith Ungol had the ELRIC influence, consider the early Frost stuff... Circle of the Tyrants, Dethroned Emperor, the Usurper, etc... SWORD & SORCERY stuff similar to what Ungol was doing. A definite CONAN influence. I was hugely into their stuff at that time. Love it still! Not so much their later material. And I still wear my Cirith Ungol T-Shirt to every metal event I go to
Kudos to the T-Shirt, man!! I had the stickers plastered all over my skate board back around the mid eighties. I wasn't no gay ass punk skater. I was a heavy metal skater! LOL! This tune has sweet guitar in it.
@voivod206 This is certainly their most accessible album. And it's great. But nothing can compare with the masterpiece that is King of the Dead. F@*king Metal Gods.
Lol i named my band after this song ;D

A brilliant song by a brilliant band

Best CU Song ever, In my opinion, Try to re-create the guitar solos and you'll feel Jerry's passion. Similar to Tony Iommi/ Black Sabbath.

why do people say that this is the precursor of celtic frost?
witchinghour666 2 years ago
Probably because they don't know what they are talking about.
