  • This is currently a very popular 'sport' on SXM, at the time of this film, I had never seen it done before, hey call ne crazy, being a commercial pilot and all... Ever see "Pushing Tin"?

  • why didnt u see that comming

  • Is this St.Maartin? The mountains kinda give it away at the beginning.

  • How were you going to get the 5-0 effect with an airplane taking off? Just wondering..

  • @scaremenga I had already filmed several aircraft landing, got some good shots as well. this was just a bonus.. lol

  • Wow! Now imagine a 8 stone, young, long haired boy... I'd be blown away completely... even if I hung onto that fence. I don't like the wind anyway so this would scare me to death.

  • "Hawaii 5-0" ??

    Those were the days...

  • LoL are you crazy?

  • get behind an A380 i will bet you will go flyin lol

  • I bet that was hot as hell too

  • Hawaii5-0 was an old TV show that had this shot in the open titles. this was shot in SXM, st maarten, NA

  • I love ALM!

    I miss it too.

  • haha

  • lol try that same thing when you get an A340-600 with those massive trent 800s.

  • No A340-600's are powered by Trent 500's.

  • gotta love the MD-88;s haahahah

  • yea the thrust from those planes can be up to 300mph at takeoff thrust

  • talk about a severe amount of jet blast

  • ha nice one!

  • might take my kyte there sometime

  • i think i was there if its st.martin doing the same thing they call it "FLY THE WIRE" you hold on tight to the wire without a camera and when the plan revs up to takeoff, your like a flag flying off the wire some people get blown off but you try to hold on its cool

  • IS THIS IN ST,MARTIN CARIBBEAN

  • its a fence, small lawn, road, then beach. you cant help but be close ey.

  • mate, a 747's engines are so bloody far apart. a DC9's are pointed straight back with some 600,000lbs of thrust combined. Try it with a '9' sometime.

  • HAHA nice video ( and trunks! XD). I heard a story about that airport... A 747 was taking off and some guy flung his dog up and the dog got pushhed into the ocean from the force of the engines. The dog was never seen again.

  • ashuhsuuhs is a genius this man

  • Haha, what a shame no one filmed you !

  • hahah lol i think he did that on purpose hahah :D

  • I dont think the engine would appear silent, just the camera mic was overwhelmed.

and yeah thats not smart, standing behind a jet taking off :P

    You're damn lucky that wasn't a 747 or A340 LMAO :P

  • actually mate, the DC9's engines point straight where I was. a 747 or a340's would have been off to the side. there are heaps of videos of idiots (like me) doing this on "747 Thursday", where at leaset 4 b747s take off in one day ey. cheers!!!

  • damn uncle raymond is that really you lol imagine how far i'd fly

  • yeah, you're a lightweight ey.... funny shit eh..

  • did that barbed wire you grab feel good?

  • it was all a shock ey...

  • the cameras mic must have been overwhelmed by the wind I reckon...

  • MOST AIRPORTS W/ JETS HAVE BLAST FENCES. i HEARD WINDNOISE, BUT NOT COMBUSTION NOISE FROM THE JET ENGINE. FOR SOME REASON, BOTH JETS & PROPS SEEM SILENT WHEN YOU'RE IN THEIR WASH.

  • It is from the wind nosie you hear, it has decibles lowder than the jets engines and your ears can't focus on the jet engine at all, wierd, but sucks if you live under a traffic pattern, cool if you live next to it!

  • was it just me?

it looked like u had ur hand on barbed wire =S

  • its chain link, w barb wire on top. cheers

  • it's cool no ?

  • LOL DUDE THAT PLANE EFFED YOU UP!! God damn I hope you're ok.. that looked like it smarted... that has to be illegal or something putting a airport that close to a beach.

  • actually, I think they put the beach that close to the airport... lol. My camera survived without a scratch.

  • LOL!! You are my idol!

  • are all these vids at the same beach?

  • looks like it, its one of the few places in the world where you can photo planes that close. One time, an Air France 747 actually hit the top of the fence, so better off standing to one side eh....

  • it was hard to see so i thought u blew over the fence

  • smart one..

  • considering the occupation I was in at the time, pretty f@&^n stupid. LOL

  • Way to go man!

  • did u fly over that fence?

  • got blown backwards... shoulda known better eh....

  • SHIT,Dude where you ok?

  • Bloody lucked out that day eh....

  • heh
