Georgia Tech first played the "Budweiser Song" as a tribute to then head football coach Bud Carson (1967 - 1971) in 1970. It has remained a tradition since.
From the Wisconsin athletics website:
"Band director Michael Leckrone said the song's popularity got started at a 1975 hockey game ... Leckrone said the song became a football tradition after a 1978 come-from-behind victory over Oregon."
So there you have it, Tech fans. Never let a Badger give you that BS ever again!
annnnd no retaliation :) checkmate, wisconsin.
