  • Hey! Have you considered the Fat Blast Furnace (do a search on google)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my sister shed insane amounts of useless fat.

  • Hi Megan, so basically you're a fruitarian then? do you ever eat other raw veggies other than the cucumbers? love your channel :)

  • great video thank you!

  • Great video! Where I live (in Norway) the cheapest fruit to buy is bananas, but unfortunately also they are very expensive, about 3.45$ a kilo at the moment, sometimes you get "cheap" ones for 3$ flat. And you have to pay 2.76$ PER mango. Needless to say you dont buy that many! Oh well. But I love watching your videoes, you are very inspirational! Keep on makin' :D *Hugs*

  • every couple months bananas go on sale at the grocery store across my street. conventionally grown, well-traveled, but 40 cents a pound. those are nice times.

  • Hi Megan! I really enjoy your videos, but I had problems when I ate raw vegan for months. I just cannot digest all these fruits and I was under severe pain because of my bowels so I went back. However, I would really like to eat raw again.

btw I was surprised how much you spend on food. I spend 125 for four weeks!

And one more thing: I am not in the US and hence I am having trouble to watch some videos of you because of the copyrights of music...

  • Thank you for the specifics! I am sorry--I just discovered your channel today--are you 100% raw or high-raw?

  • Hi Megan. Mostly can't find organic mango'd here and the non organic are bruised, but I've been finding some pretty good frozen mango. Great with frozen banana and orange with some grated ginger for a desert. Or with a non frozen banana for a great smoothie in the morning, with or without greens.

Megan. What do you think about the frozen mangos. Yes, they are expensive, but here not any worse than fresh. Wondering about food values.

  • Is your estimate you AND Joey B? Or twice that for both of you per week?

  • I've only got 150 euro's to spend every month.

  • good stuff....im sourcing more and more place's all the time! its great! :)

  • Do you have a video discussing the nutritional break down of a raw diet?

  • Nwforager, how much is mcdonalds 3x7? Just as much for garbage

  • Do a video on how to get and ripen a good mango, all mine are horrible

  • @mikecazzx : I wouldn't buy any mango that is hard at the store. I would very gently squeeze it and if it gives slightly, then I would buy it. Same with pears. But buying rock-hard mangos or pears is not gonna go well, IMO.

  • good tips im gonna start searching for a wholesale market

  • Megan, thanks for this wonderful, practical video!

Question: does your boyfriend eat bananas as his staple food year round? If not, what other fruit does he eat when organic bananas are harder to find?

  • Comment removed

  • Great Music, Great Spirit, Great information.

  • when you talk about the amount you spend per week, is that the price for just YOU, or you AND your boyfriend?

  • Hello! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (search on google)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my father lost a ton of weight with it.

  • Im in New Zealand - Starting my raw trip - Love your info - You are too cute and enthusiastic - I'm getting emotional right now - Thanks

  • @Box52222

Hi there, nice to see another kiwi. I'm a raw foodish in Wellington :) Amanda

  • What about online wholesale fruit/veggies places that ship to your home? I live in Montana, and it's hard to find great wholesalers that even sell to the public.

  • Lovvin it :)

    <3<3

  • $100 a week is Way too much personally for organic.

  • Hi Megan, Do you know of any place in northern NJ where I can get organic produce wholesale? What is the name of the place you go to? Also, can you do a video showing how to select a mango, what they should look like when you buy them, & how to tell when they are ripe, thanks.

  • so informative!! Thank you.

  • I'm fourteen and I have been a vegetarian since I was eleven. My parents eat meat so I usually end up eating microwavable meals. How would you suggest a way for me to start eating mostly raw that is inexpensive. I am overweight, but this is mostly for the lifestyle! I try to be mostly vegan also

  • @livemusicrox the cheapest and easiest way is to start eating lots of bananas. start with breakfast first and make sure it's always fruit, lots and lots of it until you're full. and for dinner try to eat a lot of fresh greens or salad with whatever else you have to eat.

  • Your tips are Fantastic! I couldn't have found your videos at a better time. :)))

  • Awesome video, thanks! Out of curiosity is that $90-100 per person a week or each cuz that's obviously very different! Definitely looking for wholesale organic options around here... Thanks for the motivation!

  • @triballover30 It just for me per week. But I don't eat bananas as a staple food, and my bf does, so he is spending maybe $75 to $80 per week eating 1500 to 2000 more calories than me a day.

  • Thank you!

  • Hey Megan, So how did you find the place? Did you look online? How can I find a wholesale produce company that sells to the public? Thanks for the tips... I am on a budget and I get the greens organic and the fruit that has a hard skin I buy conventional...

  • @YFabu i found out through a friend who started a produce club. but you can look up all the wholesalers in your area on google probably. give them all a call and find out if they sell cases to the general public. when buying wholesale i can afford to be all organic so it's great! good luck

  • You guys are so lucky, I live in Australia, unorganic mangoes are about $3:50 each, and bananas are like $13 a kilo at the moment (we had a tornado at the start of the year that wiped out 80% of our crops)

  • Thanks Megan!

Great vid with plenty of helpful tips.

  • I hear you perfect even with the music! Love your videos!!

  • @tofumond the 80 10 10 diet by doug graham

  • Great video, although the music is a bit distracting...

  • @werbelloff (in a lot but not all cases)... which is very dangerous and quite horrifying. The chemicals (pesticides etc.) being used in conventional farming are consistently being developed and improved for safety, but those used in organic farming are not. If you say that organic farming doesn't use pesticides or chemicals, you're an idiot.

  • @Lynx2020

okay well maybe not an idiot, but just misinformed and you need to do more research. I apologize for kind of calling you an idiot.

  • @werbelloff

The funny thing is, that isn't true at all. To think that chemicals aren't used on organic foods is completely wrong. In fact, the chemicals used in organic farming are in most cases less safe than those used in conventional farming because they're outdated and underdeveloped. In addition to that, the soils and compost used in the farming of organic foods are far less safe than those used in organic farming because they contain human wastes, used feminine hygiene products anddiapers

  • Are all people on raw diets also vegans? Does sashimi count as raw food? What about mayonnaise? what about steak tar tar? Carpaccio?

P.S. Eating all organic really isn't necessary, it's just a popular trend right now. The only real difference is the price. If anything, organic could be more dangerous to consume than non-organic.

Anyway, someone please answer my above questions. I'm really curious.

  • @Lynx2020 not all raw foodists are vegans although most choose to be, and yes - raw fish, freshly made mayo is mostly raw (depends if the oil is 1st cold pressed or heat extracted), steak tartare is raw as is carpaccio - that is all raw food.... so yes, you can be a raw foodie & eat all those foods if you choose to.

organic isn't a just a trend, there is a difference in the produce - however, 'organic' isn't always organic - it's a complex subject with many factors - best is local grown organic

  • @Lynx2020 within vegan is raw vegan. This is what is commonly called a raw foodist. Within raw foodists there are also different viewpoints. Fruit, fat, etc, etc. Lots of variety even in "raw" foodists. But meat leaves the diet when you transition to veganism. So no fish!! :)

  • @Lynx2020 only the truly conscious ones are raw vegan. not sure what you meant in your comment about conventional being less dangerous. organically grown produce is the most natural way to grow something. since organic is a newer trend the methods used are modern. I am a chemically sensitive person so I can tell when something is not organic, or if they are using a lot of chemicals. I have immediate reactions to it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lynx2020 1. I think mayonnaise that you buy is not raw (I'm sure they cook ingredients, so you'd have to make homemade mayonnaise for it to be raw).

    2. Non-organic is not safer because they are foods bred to be grown FAST and BIG by chemicals, and they are grown in soil with no nutrients (no compost), and they get sprayed with pesticides to keep "pests" off.

  • I'm a new vegan and not very well organized with what, where and when to buy. I often buy too much or underbuy or pay too much because I need something and choose the next best wholefood shop...I'm more and more raw vegan but still have to learn a lot. So, thank you, you helped me. I'll try to write down what I need in a week and look for the cheapest way to get it. I even didn't decide yet what my staple food is. I try everything and make a lot of mistakes because I don't have a plan.THANKS!

  • my tip is start planting some fruit trees. Also go on line and do a search there are some sites out there that list local fruits in your area that can be foraged or people post produce they have an abundance of.

  • I'm so proud of myself. I ate completely raw today. I haven't done that in years. It has been such a strugle for me that I never thought I would make it even one day.. but I did, and it seems like now anything is possible.

  • thank you :)

  • hey megan! i LOVE your videos...keep em coming. 2 questions though- is $10.99 for a case of 14 conventional medium sized ataulfo mangos a good price??? and also at asian markets who do you ask for the bulk or "overripe" produce? thanks! :)

  • @snwbordface 10.99 is a decent price at a regular store, bc at whole foods they will charge you $2 a mango! I usually just ask any person working in the produce department.

  • I would not be eating all that (fruit) sugar! thanks for the tips though....

  • @Sourpusscandy fruit sugar does NOT fall into the same category as processed sugars - the difference being that whole fruits will not make your blood sugar spike because it contains the fibre, vitamins & minerals, enzymes, etc it needs for the body to process & assimilate it most efficiently - unnaturally combined processed, cooked, heated, pastuerised, etc foods will wreak havoc on your system... look at "sugar - the bitter truth", & dr jeff novick vids here on yt

  • I always get my bananas when they are going slightly brown, since I am going to freeze them anyway this is the way I prefer them. It's usually about a buck for three pounds that way.

Megan you also forget 'u pick it farms'. This time of the year you can load up on blueberries, raspberries, etc.....go pick cheaply and stick them in the freezer.

  • Will something bad happen to you if you dont eat organic? I started and I'm not eating all organic. :( Also, how many calories do you get per day? HOw do you know how much fruit is too much?

  • Megan, it's hard to hear you over the music.

  • Where in philly is this place?
