  • 2:15 another succesfull Jagger-Richard interaction

  • WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT. THE GUY WITH BIG LIPS NEEDS SINGING AND DANCING LESSONS.....where is pat boone?

  • For me, this and the original studio version are the best. It's a fav Stones song of mine, Wood has at times ruined this song for me by over doing it with Brian Jone's fade out riff playing it as many as 15 times throughout the song I've counted and hey that's over doing it, I can't count on this song being all it could/should be with Wood there, but I love Wood otherwise. To his defense he doesn't kill this song every time just sometimes. sorry

  • THESE were the days.

  • "Welcome to the Breakfast Show." Mick Jagger is the greatest...one for the ages.

  • Best rockumentary ever.

  • This isn't the best version of the song from 1969, but nobody ever did it better sounding than the Stones in '69. The Rolling Stones couldn't even play it as good later with the horn section. Johnny Winter over does it. Leon Russell does alright.

  • charlie looks so funny with that outfit. my fav drummer ever and such a humble nice guy

  • cornerstone of rock music

  • I saw the Stones a few times in my 55 yrs. this version of Flash is the best and the album Get yer ya yas out probably there best live one..Oh those were the days

  • 420 likes yup yup

  • i just came

  • I like it.

  • who disliked this and what for?

  • What I can't stand is that they never did backing vocals onthe"but it's alright in fact in a gas"like on the record....Keith Richards can make great harmonies but..no....he decided not to sing

  • It simply does not get any better than this. The Stones live version here is the best EVER.

  • Glee is doing a mashup of this song! :D

  • @umana2005 fuck glee.

  • @Rogginroll yea agreed glee is super gay and lame unlike the stones there awesome

  • hes awesome, but my mom thinks hes retarted

  • Best live clip of "Jumpin Jack Flash" I've ever heard. Thanks for posting!

  • @LarryRickenbacker cannot agree more how smooth the stones were this was 196fuckin8 when a legend was born AKA me :P hahha

  • He's got them moves like Jagger

  • 1969 - The year Keith Richards discovered open G tuning and Heroin

  • @niggaT42000 wrong they are great live performers. watch ladies and gentleman but everyone has an off day everyone once and a while

  • @niggaT42000 jagger thought lots of wrong things ;)

  • I was drowned ,I was washed up and left for dead

I fell down to my feet and I saw they bled

And I frowned at the crumbs of a crust of bread

I was crowned with a spike right through my head

But it's all right yeah,it's all right

In fact it's a gas, but it's all right

    I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash ......... <3

  • This sounds so bad. I love the stones, but this performance is awful. It drags, the guitar is reallly sloppy and boring. Don't give me any of that "raw" jazz. It is just horrible. I'd rather do taxes.

  • This is when they were a band and not just frontmen for a show. Awesome.

  • Perfection......

  • TOTALLLLY CRAZY ..."MAD"&SON SQUARE Grd. just <3 it !!

  • 1974-1976 we had grain parties outside on the lawn and cranked this albumn and it showed people what rock n' roll was all about. Richards and Taylor were an unblievable combo.

  • Matephone - you are analytical to the whole of this song but you failed to mention the visual impact Mick Jagger has on the viewer and that was a mistake but don't worry about it.

  • I WAS THERE

last night when I stuck on the DVD

  • @Lordcahoona - taylor didn't play 'solo' there, it was that 'ancient form of weaving' at its best during the richards/taylor period, which means you can hear them both playing various improvised notes mixing together beautifully. such things are impossible to copy and this example is surely one of the finest - i always get the goosebumps whenever i hear it. thumbs up for 'the ancient form of weaving' :)

  • Comment removed

  • @cameltooth1 If "Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters' guitarists were doing that way back in the 50s and before," then how can you say the Yardbirds did it first? Also, since Keith often refers to the "ancient" art of weaving, it stands to reason that he knows others were doing it long before he was, so your claim that he "thinks he is originator of everything" (sic) is weaker than Larry King's urine stream.

  • @Keepsu I said the Yardbirds did it WELL first although so did Muddy and Wolf's guitarists. I was wrong about Keith thinking he is the originator of everything. Instead, everybody besides him thinks he is the originator of everything. Keith is overrated like every other mother fucker that plays music, except for the really talented soulful instrumentalists that deserve more recognition. Case and point: Mike Bloomfield and Mick Taylor. Also, Little Richard kicks more ass than Stones and Berry.

  • this very recording was the very first one i ever saw the stones live in motion, i was 8 years old and completely amazed! no other version of the song i've heard since could beat this one!

  • btw, wyman's bass is amazing here (some sources have bass frequencies louder - check those out), the octave solutions are incredible, much like mike rutherford of paul mccartney (when he's in the mood) but with bass cabinet as large as a house!

the chorus here is unique ("but it's alright, yeah, it's alright" instead of the usual "but, it's aaaaaal riiiiiiiiight"), i always insist to play this version in my stones cover band. the audience don't get it... yay :D

  • Moves like Jagger!

  • @realgone222

    La concha de tu madre.

  • The Stones were smokin' when Mick Taylor was in the band. Should have never quit that band Mick, seriously.

  • Alel Baldwin invited me to this party.

  • Imagine how well the Stones could have done if they had a frontman who could actually sing. I don't care how many sold out shows he fronted, Mick Jagger is easily the worst singer on the planet. Seeing him live is like watching a chicken with big lips strutting around, groaning out of key to a song they played 20 minutes previous. The Stones only have about 4 good songs anyway, the rest, including this one, are ruined by Jagger.

  • @Fr33Fisting They weren't successful enough?

  • Comment removed

  • @Fr33Fisting he sings like a cat from the ghetto of the 50's 60's...and it fits perfect

  • @Fr33Fisting You are cordially invited to go to HELL! That's where all Idiots should be. How many instruments do YOU play....by the way?

  • @Fr33Fisting You're a fucking idiot. Mick Jagger is amazing and has a great voice. If you don't like Mick or The Rolling Stones, then why the hell are you commenting on this video in the first place? Get a life.

  • @Fr33Fisting You,sir are a stupid idiot! That is your opinion about Mick so I am mine about you. You have shitty taste. 4 good songs? Are you in a mental institution? If you don't like The Stones then shut your fucking hole and DON'T LISTEN OR WATCH THEM! God help us all!

  • @Fr33Fisting Youre an idiot. Youve obviously been fisted so many times its went to your brain

  • @Fr33Fisting This is coming from someone who has Elton John in his favorited youtube videos...

  • i want a cape.

  • Alec Baldwin linked me here

  • Possibly the best concert ever by anyone.

  • Comment removed

  • Even Jesus and the devil agree...Mick kicks ass

  • out of sync. but still a hell of a lick..thanks for sharing!!

  • Does anybody know who or what he's talking about?Stones rock!......Steve

  • Mick had a moment. It's Keith's groove../

  • What a night for Rock n Roll....still to be surpassed.

  • It's like the fuckin monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey...Gateway to Rock N Roll beyond humankind's wildest dreams...fuck yeah.

  • talk about off ya guts aye lol.

  • DAAAAAAMN !!!! GOOD VIDEO!

  • how fucking legendary is this?

  • Great band, great video. Thanks stones for uploading!

  • was this the famous gig, where Jimi Hendrix was hanging out just behind Richards' amp?

  • THUMPS UP IF YOU THINK MICK TAYLOR SHOULD HAVE CONTINUE THAT SOLO FROM 2:36 TO 2:46 AND THE SOLO AT THE END WAS PERFECT

  • @Lordcahoona 0:00 => 4:15 was perfect :)

  • @Lordcahoona Thumps up if you think The Rolling Stones never became the same after Mick Taylor left.. though they are still the greatest rock and roll band in the world and Keith and Mick J wrote 10 of the best rock songs ever.

  • @Lordcahoona it isn't a solo, it's just part of the rhythm track, no different than the record. The solo starts @3:31.

  • I was at that Madison Square Garden show in 1969. Always loved The Stones. It was a wild scene. That was the second concert I went to that year, this first being Woodstock. My own band was recording and auditioning at all the major record labels then. What an exciting year that was for me and a lot of people!

  • @IAintOverYet what was your band?????

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @IAintOverYet Who cares? If you need Attention THAT bad,,,,why don't you join a Garden Club, or something....?

  • @IAintOverYet I think you guys should try a reunion....I know alot of older cats your age who do the reunion thing- its always a gas, man.....as for the drugs, yeah, I've done them all, but hey: like Keith sang: " here's another good bye to another good friend"

  • @oreokookie1000 Easier said than done. My lead guitarist and former co-songwriter died 10 years ago from lung cancer. That was the same year and about the same time of the year that George Harrison died, and from the same disease. George was one who greatly influenced his music style. And get this ... unknown to him, they had the same doctor and both were being treated at Staten Island University Hospital. George was there under an assumed name (I believe his wife's maiden name). Weird, huh?

  • INCREDIBILI!!!!

  • Taking pics for the cover of Get yer ya ya's out. First tune on that album. One of my top 5 favorite albums of all time!

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME !!!

What else is there to say !!!!

  • 00:54 -- ohh god can Mick Jagger be anymore sexy!?! It's like he knew when he pelvic thrusted every girl watching would be wanting him..jesusss.

  • Which London Station is it ?????

  • Did you know Mick Jagger went to London School of Economics? Respect!! My favourite version of the song :)

  • @antniemi

Yes, I did know. And this also is my favorite (American spelling) version of the song. I do like the studio version, but this is better. Jagger sings an entirely new melody and MIck Taylor cooks. Love a song that's in B Blues (One, Flat Three, Flat Seven, Four).

  • I'm 5 years old and I think this music is so cool. Wish I was alive back then.

  • @thompsondavisiv No your not, you have plenty of videos of yourself and your account says your 24. Did you know Abe Lincoln never told a lie? He's also better than you at that too!

  • I'm 14 and I want a time machine.

  • he look like archie 19 boy.. so sweeeet

  • is anyone else in this band besides mick or what

  • Nice to see the Stones of this period when Mick Taylor was trying to fit in.

  • There is ZERO chance this will EVER be trumped.

  • I like Ronnie Woods and I liked Brian Jones (the marimbas in Under My Thumb and the guitar in The Last Time are to die for), but this was probably the best lineup.

  • Mick J is magic here. Sheesh.

  • @jbstonesfan that's cliché, because I adore The Beatles, but I also love the stones! (:

  • 4 beatles fans.

  • as every producer and promoter in the biz used to say about jagger ; ' Here comes the most talented c*#t in the business!! '

  • I'm a third generation Italian; I've had it with this here country. Wanna host me? I'm pretty good in the English language, plus a pretty good cook. Looking for the simple life.

  • jagger rips this one up!

  • what a voice!!!!!

  • Mick combed his hair all the time x) 1:26 1:39 - 1:40 1:42 - 1:43 1:45 ( See also Mick Taylor, he seems to have fun ) 1:53 at " I was schooled" 2:04 Mick monitors if taylor does not make fun ;( but 2:07 Taylor does it anyway and 2:09 Taylor stops 2:43 3:04 3:20 3:59 ( Well, he did not restyle ) 4:08
  • One of the few times I've actually liked Mick Taylor's playing.

  • I'm been trying my whole life to get this same guitar tone that Keith Richards had here. It's all in the amp set up. I understand that KR rarely, if ever, used pedals, except later around Some Girls

  • @KUTVgroucho His open tunings play a huge part in the tone too.

  • @oncetaken Yes, that's very true indeed!

  • 4 people were rocking so hard they hit the "dislike" button accidentally

  • Mick should be a dance instructor.

  • When introducing "Live with me" at this show, Mick said: "this next numbeh, ahsks the question: do ya wanna live wiv me?" Janis Joplin shouted her answer from behind the amps: "You haven't got the b_ _lls", LOL. The 'Stones never sounded better.

  • the devil may care

  • micks on acid

  • This movie was heavily edited -- just like most movies. They would shoot every performance the Stones did and mix it. The first stop on their '69 tour was at a 3 day rock festival that took place west of Palm Beach, FL. The Stones came on at, like 3:00 AM, on an unusually cold Nov. morning and when Mick says, "Welcome to the breakfast show", that's where it took place. I know 'cause I was there with about 50,000 other people. Rock Festivals were new back then, Woodstock was 4 months ago.

  • @ELDestinova You're incorrect. The first stop on their '69 tour was Fort Collins, CO on November 7th. The West Palm Beach show was on November 30th; 6 days later they played Altamont.

  • @ELDestinova Concert films generally disappoint me, primarily if the cameras are not synchronized. I'll see a B roll shot that doesn't match what's being played at that very moment. The Hyde Park show, for example, is impossibly edited. Half the shots don't match up to what follows or what preceded them.

  • Hendrix and Janis are believed to have been dancing behind the wall of Ampegs at MSG!

  • @LarryRickenbacker In fact, they were----see the DVD released with the reissue of Get Yer Ya Ya's out. Some of that stuff in on Youtube --- Satisfaction Madison Square Garden 1969 (Youtube keyword search)

  • a couple of fuckin' NOears.

  • their best song. hot shit right here

  • Hecho en Mexico

  • Performed on Jimi Hendrix 27th and last birthday. He was there that night.

  • 2:55 lucky bastard

  • I'm 24 years old, I wasn't even planned on my father live at that time...

But everywhen I listen to the Stones Live! by the 69's, I realize there's no such amazing band in the world, there has never been and will never exist...

    They were so natural, co0l with people, creative. The way they musically performed and those others features they had, resulted  the Stones to be an orgasm!!.}

    I'm from Mexico....

  • @atoleagrioskapunk Normally I hate when people say their age, but the last line made me laugh, so your ok!

  • Keith....out of tune...again. Mick Taylor...spot on with his tuning...excellent as usual.

  • @SOLISDEUS :)

  • @robinhoodtn1 and that's why bj is still not around, he wasn't tough enough, you killed your own argument! he was an out of control egotistical asshole that beat up his women and generally treated people like shit that weren't in his bubble. musical genius he was in the early days, yes, but he couldn't keep up, musically or socially as the band evolved.

  • Who the hell could dislike this? Are you nuts?

  • @elauraburnette a beattle fan

  • @elauraburnette

Bueno. Vivo' dos anos (sorry, no tilda on my keyboard) en Distrito Federal.

Love this capture of the Stones. No artitifice. Just ruled by rock and roll.

  • This was considered the greatest show on earth at that time. 1969, nothing, no one could touch the Stones at that time, they were owesome. I was there at the Garden that night. Still is one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen, together with; Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, The Cream, Deep Purple, The Doors, those years just can't compare with today. Incredible music!!

  • @AKILEAS Yeah, I was there too. AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • Jagger motions for Richards to go to front of stage for solo and laughs when he doesn't.

  • @robertlaf I thought that was a cue for security to prevent some crazed fan from climbing onto the stage?

  • The dude looks like he is floating on air! He Can DANCE!!!

  • charlie watts was one ugly motherfucker lmao but i cant say that for mick, keith, and wyman for sure

  • i was raised by a toothless bearded hag,i was schooled with a strap right across my back, but its alright,ya its alright,in fact its a gas,but its alright im jumpin jack flash its a gas gas gas!ya hey!

  • The guitar work Mick Taylor does right after the bridge is freakin awesome. Great live version!

  • 2:38 - Mick Taylor.
