I have no shame in saying that I didn't know about Kings of Leon until sex on fire, because If it weren't for Sex on Fire, I would've never discovered their earlier stuff. I just had a listen to YAYM and it's fucking great. Who cares when or how you discover a band, as long as you know they make legit music.

@Jimmmeeehhh yea they said in an interview for their new album that they could easily have just released 6 sex on fire's and 6 use somebody's and then have an album, but they wanted to prove they can still make amazing music, just like this :)

Saw Kings of Leon in their hometown of Nashville, TN last night (10/16/09)! While their music has changed a bit, they are still rockin as hard as ever and very appreciative of their success. THEY HAVE NOT SOLD OUT. just sold alot more records -- congrats

But is frustratring how they got so big with an album which doesn't represent the true essence of what Kol is, I mean the great kol is the one of the frist two records. THAT was great music, only by the night is not bad, but is unfair how they became famous for their worst album when they should have been recognised for their earlier stuff, which was much fresh and exciting. And they love fame and money so much that they are never going back to that old kol, because they know the shitty works

@ala709 yeah, it's pretty lame to discriminate against a fan because they're young :) and Trani is one of my favorites too. I saw them on Long Island this past September, and most people there had NEVER heard more than half of the set list, BUT they were still into it... so I try to look at it like okay they're coming for Sex on Fire and Use Somebody, but aren't they still fans? And what if they get into the older stuff as a result? Not all bad :)
