@turtleguy923 Fun Fact: Shark's always circle their prey before they attack. Sharks don't  "play". It circled them because it was trying to size up it's prey, I guess it had never seen kayakers before. Luckily these guys managed to stay perfectly still long enough for it to lose interest.

At first the shark doesn't know what the birds are it "plays" with them, then after a while it decides it's going to up the game to include it's teeth or as the scientists like to call it test bite, however the birds are a little to clever for that and avoid the bite, then after a day the shark has figured out a foolproof tactic to kill and eat the birds.

They cannot pump water past their gills like other fish somust constantly swim. If a Shark wanted to eat you then you would not know it was there until it attacked you. That's why Great whites have the dark coloration on top of their bodies and the light coloration underneath. It allows them to remain well camouflaged.
