The technology needed to realistically recreate a MK game for the big screen was in its infancy and outside of cartoons the special effects of that era sucked by todays standards. It's not fair to compare today's cinema technology to those over a decade in the past. This was the 90s, a lot has changed

Funny observations...Shao Kahn is speaking english to a bunch of Shaolin Monks. He's quoting the Bible to Shaoilin Monks who probably are Budhist. Shao Khan went on a diet, he looks skinny. Shao Khan and Raiden's jump scene seems like out of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Why is Sindel speaking English with the mannerism they do in the dubbed 70's-80's Kung Fu movies? I still like the movie though.

As far as I am concerned this shithole movie never happend. The first movie was great, but this one was pathtic. I lost intrest as soon as they killed Johnny Cage...What the first 6 minutes in? But I forced myself to finish the movie hoping it might have some great redeaming quality...It didn't. Trust me, if for some reason you haven't watched this movie yet...Skip it. And just rememeber the first Movie.
