  • here's hoping it'll be an exclusive track for the amazing spiderman movie

  • sounds like the guitar riff from their 06 beach clip "I Believe". I personally hope they dig up the 'All My Life' beach clip and put it on their next album because that chorus is huge.

  • that is rock music at his best!

  • ccccccccooooooooooolllllllllllll!! it's a new song? because i don't no.

  • Been bored with these guys since The Unforgettable Fire. Their last good album.

  • I actually really love this song, lets hope it's on the next album.

  • This is from one of U2's albums. I love this song! This is one of their better songs.

  • larry and adam bring ideas when they normally work together

  • Hold me thrill me ....

  • Powerful tune, everything built around Edge's awesome riff - way better than "Rise above". I don't think it will be on the new album. U2's Soundtrack Songs usually don't appear there. I think they've got loads of new material - the fantastic „Glastonbury" they didn’t even play on the festival.

  • The melody sucks

  • @MegaWallace26 it's for a musical...in this video the sound is not good ... but you definitely have a prejudice ...

  • Awesome!

  • love the hook

  • Wow. This song obviously evolved a great deal lyrically between this concert and the release of "Music From Spider-man Turn Off The Dark". It's difficult to say which version is more powerful. Thank you for reaffirming that you are first and formost poets, Boys!

  • whens the new album out

  • I'm seeing them next Saturday (June 18th) in Anaheim!! Anybody else seeing them there?

  • @ThatKrookedVulture I was the 22nd at Baltimore :/

  • @ThatKrookedVulture just checked out this video - saw them both nights in Anaheim. you saw the better of the two - both were good, but something special happened that night.

  • @greydogblues It was incredible! The only thing is that I wish they would have played Magnificent.

  • omg <3 spiderman <3

  • are these son ever gonna come out on studio recorded cd

  • @supercooldude2121

It´s believed to be included on the next album.

  • @supercooldude2121 Bono and The Edge are trying to convince their other bandmates to make a cd of the songs from the musical. The actual cast cd comes out in late June.

  • @supercooldude2121 The Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark soundtrack is out, but, it has Reeve Carney singing this instead...

  • @supercooldude2121 this song is on the Spiderman, turn off the dark musical soundtrack .

Bono doesnt sing on this track at the album

  • can anyone tell me where i can download a good quality mp3 version of this song. there's a reallt good version floating around but there's a guy saying "1,2,3" throughout the track. it's a real shame it has this as it's near perfect quality.

  • these umbrellas are like those of THE IN THE FLESH TOUR BY PINK FLOYD!!!!

  • to the haters . change your mind but u cannot change your soul

  • Well - thanks for the reply - I did come off pretty bitter. Thanks for posting the song too - I was interested in hearing it. I'm a huge U2 fan - and would never not listen to something they put out ... lately though I've been less enthused ... Achtung Baby isn't something generally included in their "older stuff." I loved that album ... and have been waiting for another one ever since. They really inovated with that one and with Joshua Tree. I'm rooting for them ...

  • Does Bono even sing anymore - or does he just half ass his everything? He sounds board of his own Bullshit. I have every U2 album - and I'm sort of sick of how they've just rested on their success over the last 3 albums - No Line was a little better - - but face it ... there will never be another Achtung Baby or Joshua Tree - no matter how much you want it.

  • @krab1110

    Huh?

HTDAAB won 8 grammys and was no1 in 33 countries. ATYCLB won 7 grammys and is one of U2's most successful albums subsequently containing some stellar hits, namely "Beautiful Day"...2 HUGE records!

This "U2's new stuff is awful, their old stuff is much better" line is SO clichéd its unreal...

and for that Bono comment...wise up...

U2 are still the band to beat, and will be for the forseeable future!

  • 9 boys fell from the sky.

  • Beautiful, beautiful video quality and sound - I so hope they play this more often live!!!

  • Put this on the next album.

  • do u2 have any bad songs out of like 400 or however many they wrote . bono is really class here

  • @90alexcatalan yes. A Man and a Woman is awful.

  • @ArtMonkforHallofFame what the fuck

  • @90alexcatalan I was talking about the song A Man and a Woman. i hate it. i think it's their worst song by a country mile.

  • Beautiful guitar work definitely the best thing since How to Dismantle

  • I Love this song

    I Love you Bono, I love U2

  • This sounds great, pity that its not from their new set of songs for their new albums...would be cool if they returned to this style of song writing, it really seems to suit them. Reminiscent of Hold Me, Thrill Me, maybe they only write these songs for superhero soundtracks lol

  • Sounds like "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me" and "Until the End of the World" mixed together in a very good way. "Achtung Baby" "Zooropa" and "Pop" are my favorite U2 albums, I hope they return to that sound sometime soon

  • @AeroSpaceBoy130 to me sound like HMTMKMKM (chorus) and walk on

  • @AeroSpaceBoy130 i think thats bollox . the song is an original no mixing anythng . that why its so good it original

  • WHAT A GREAT SONG

U2 FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!! SEE YOU IN ARGENTINA

  • Comment removed

  • Classic U2. Epic guitar by Edge.

  • this is good? i saw this in spider man on broadway and the entire show sucked bc of the crappy music. bono singing it just makes it sound even worse.

  • it does sound kind of Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me ish.

  • u2 are so overrated. Really this is a pastiche of a crap bond tune, filtered through the ridiculous 'hold me thrill me'

    where is the growth?

i think they need to go away now and do something REAL.

  • @andfi100

what do you suggest? Post shite on youtube?

  • This song has nothing to do with "Dirty Day".

Dirty Day is a gem from Zooropa, BFFTS is just a good rock song.

  • @shaisameri Dirty Day is a gem from Zooropa, correct. Wrong in saying Boy Falls from the Sky shares nothing with Dirty Day. The tonal link to Zooropa's Dirty Day is obvious and conscious; Bono even namechecks 'The Wanderer'.

As for Boy Falls from the Sky itself - try out the rehearsal version from behind closed doors at Auckland. This song is a lot of things but 'good' doesn't hack it - most honest, passionate, selfish(Edge playing things his way) and driven U2 live song in perhaps a decade.

  • @WhoDoYouWant It's your opinion and I don't agree, except with the first sentence. You can find many similarities in several U2 songs. It is normal in a band with a long way back and with dozens of songs...

  • @shaisameri, it's normal that people can listen to two songs back to back and recognise a distinct similarity in the foundation riff (notes, tempo and number of repetitions). But yes, we'll just disagree. I suspect it's merely a case of cheering for one so assuming you need to boo the other. Shame, as one band created both. And, as someone who has been with U2 from the beginning, I find it so easy to say I love both. Enjoy your music.

  • @WhoDoYouWant FUCK YOU! You are just a punk ass mother fucker who thinks that is the only one who knows all U2 songs. I'm sick of seeing jerks like you arround here!

  • @shaisameri you're sick of having to deal with people who know more about your specialised subject than you do. You don't like taking lessons, you like giving them. Maybe YouTube should ban over-35s to give you more legroom? Meanwhile, the truth is you watch old 80s/90s videos of U2 and wish you were there, I rely on fond memories of being there...all the way. What a ride it's been ;)

  • @WhoDoYouWant What part of "FUCK YOU" did you not understand asshole?

  • @shaisameri That's "Fuck OFF". "Fuck OFF" is the "Goodbye and have a nice day" line. "Fuck YOU" is the adolescent cry of anguish when you know you've been cooked. Don't bother replying, I'll preempt the "FUCK OFF". So Goodbye... and have yourself a nice day.

  • @WhoDoYouWant No! No! That's "FUCK YOU" son of a crazy bitch ahahaha

  • @WhoDoYouWant and don't forget to put your finger on your ass as you always do every night... "I'll preempt the "FUCK OFF" ahahaha and I am the adolescent?! FUCKING ASSHOLE!

  • Like it issacu. This is a great song though.

  • Dirty day is the worst song U2 has ever done. This is one of their best songs ever.

  • Really thinking it should be titled, "Boy falls off the stage without proper safety equipment and lands 30' below in orchestra pit.

  • @isaacu and you say this because, as everybody knows, the author of the music is also the responsible of the security in the production.

  • @isaacu Hilarious!

  • Dirty Day is much better and powerful

  • dirty day vs a james bond song

  • this song is awesome!

  • Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me FOREVER.

  • Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me FOREVER, this song is its the bad copy

  • Amazing!

  • this is more of a u2 song then u2 has put out in the last 10 years

  • I can't believe I'm not the only one who thinks this song sound similar to HMTMKMKM. I think this version should be used on the upcoming Spider-Man movie remake coming out in 2012.

  • I hear a little bit of "Until The End of The World" around the 1:36 mark

  • @theace18

I hear a little bit of Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me in the main riff!

  • @TheFly587

i thought tht as soon as i heard it! HMTMKMKM is my fave song of theirs by far!!!

  • @theace18 its just an harpejo at the same note, very similar actually

  • I feel the similarities in this and "hold me thrill me kiss me kill me" also. I think this song is a bit more lighter though.

  • wow i can't believe other people saw some similarity between this and HMTMKMKM also. when i first heard this song i immediately felt the similarity between the riffs. it's not the same but the feeling is the same, if that makes sense lol.

  • hmm after many listens i am liking this song more and more. Still wish the main melody in the solo didn't sound so much like Hold Me. I keep picturing batman instead of kirsten dunst lmao.

  • can't wait for spiderman!!!

  • this song is a really good song lol... they shud have put this on nloth if they were able to, the whole album shud have been like this

  • WOW HalloweenTown!... an opinionated angry Young girl in a bedroom with lots of like ...stuff and such to complain about and things like to get off her chest...like I don't know, go fuck yourselves and suck balls kinda stuff... and like with a video cam an' all????

...now That's Original! The world was waiting for you. ;)

  • Fuck great!

  • Edge still got it!

  • Yellow has become U2's rock and roll color. The stage is yellow during Glastonbury, too.

    AMAZING song, btw:D

  • Great song, check out my version on my channel

  • yes I knew IT! it not only me thinking about the batman theme...really they are so familiar, the Batman Hold me thril me is realy very the same...my guitar teeacher just like he heard it played it and almost on the same tabs like the batman, but still I like this song more then HMTMKMKM this song is way more cooler but I have a diferent taste

  • Bono getting back the fury and majesty. Wonderful biting, snarling song - and the Edge becoming recognisable again with beautiful licks and sonorous, sustained energy. A song not for those who loved the noughties but for those who still pray, possibly against hope now, for a return to the kaleidoscopic imagery and soundscapes of the nineties.

Off with the middle-aged angst.... On With The Horns ;)

  • @WhoDoYouWant Glad I im not the only one then.... I hate the last mess of an album love this and got back into them again at glastonbury when doing acthung baby (they must know as they only played two songs from the new album and lost the audience both times) which suits his voice better lower key. Heres to hoping for the next album.

  • @TheSamExaggerations

Totally agree - take some risk. The music is too happy, the band has nothing painful to sing about...

  • Bono definitely sounds better singing this song than Reeve, at least based on the GMA performance of Boys Falls From The Sky. Reeve has an amazing voice, but his GMA performance wasn't as clear and powerful as Bono's version.

  • DE MAIS!!!!

  • For those wondering... HMTMKMKM is = Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me

  • @angryKratos lol thanks got it eventualy! did you know that "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" was a song from the fifties

  • @tegid699 OMG Really? Never knew about that.

  • @angryKratos yep (not the same son you understand) but look up "Hold me thrill me kiss me"

  • <3 I love this song and I can't wait for buy it... about the show i thinks it was wonderfull... i was there to :))

  • This is the best heavy song i heard from the 4 guys in years.

Every is beautiful, glastonburry hard, northstar delicious and mercy brilliant, but this is why i love u2,a heavy sound, larry´s pomping beat and a marvellous edge......boys play rock and roll!

    Ron

    Holland

  • justin bieber wrote this song

  • With this song....and all the others that have been airred since the tour re-commenced, i would say, u2 are starting to sound like a very average band!

  • i reely lyk u2 but this songs shit.

  • Awesome song. Great stuff.

  • I'm really starting to love this song! Can't wait to see this Spidey musical in December :D

  • I am beyond psyched to see this show!

  • I hear traces of Dirty Day and HmTMKM in this song

  • I was also there! Cidade da Coimbra Stadium... Great Moment... They played the song first time live woooow!

  • the guitar ,,, edge rocks!

  • Wow Bono sings this way better than the kid in the play. I'm not just saying that, the kid just mumbled everything. I can understand the words better on this audience bootleg than by a GMA broadcast of the other kid!

    Really cool song

  • @killer8rabbit

    Why so serious? 8>

  • @killer8rabbit well fuck off and go and listen to youre lady gaga nursery ryhmes then if you think u2 are crap then youv,e got a pretty poor taste in music ! let me guess what your,e record collection contains ! steps, take that maybe , pink , or what about westlife bet youre into them ?

  • @killer8rabbit You may want to get that check out. I do not think that if is normal for a person to vomit when they hear real music...

  • @killer8rabbit

you must be listening to justin beiber

  • so cool. Hope they play this in Chicago or East Lansing or Minneapolis. Or any of the other new ones...

  • reminds me of 'dirty day' and 'HMTMKMKM'...

    definitely a U2 song...and a great one !!!

  • People. If you actually knew about music, you would know that Dirty Day and Hmtmkmkm and this song are completely different. Different melody and chorus in all of them.

  • im from ireland think they have lost the plot

  • @hguh2 I'm from Ireland and I think they're brilliant; I think this song is great, too. I don't see where nationality comes into stating an opinion, though.

It's good to hear this song in full after only hearing it as a beach clip for years! It certainly doesn't disappoint. I'm reminded a bit of HMTMKMKM and Dirty Day as well, but not overly so; in fact, I think those nods are a good thing.

  • must be something to do with spiderman reminds me to much of hold me thrill me

  • This song may have a small part of the main riff that may be somewhat "similar" to Dirty Day because they are power cords but they are not the same...nor are they just like HMTMKMKM. Go and listen to them in comparison...they are NOT the same. This song is distinctly different from either of the previous ones. Not sure why people continue to try to make that point because its just not true.

  • @powersurge333 you mistake someone making a connection with someone insulting. There is no insult in the very REAL similarity between this and Dirty Day. Few have said the cords are 'the same' - as we all have ears - but the 'similarity' is certainly more than 'somewhat'. I like the idea of giving a reverential nod to a Zooropa song - and the band know very well that fans nearly as old as themselves WILL make the connection.

  • U2 hasn't made a good album since 1987

  • @Bulldog22031 foolio

  • @Bulldog22031

    Riiiiight.

And the moon landings were staged. Got it.

    *rolls eyes*

  • what about achtung baby. greatest album of all time. Every U2 album is amazing.

  • @BonoWeCanBeOne

    1) Achtung baby isn't even their besst (See: Joshua Tree)

    2) It is DEFINITELY not the greatest album of all time (none of U2s stuff is)

    3) It's is statistically and entirely improbable that EVERY U2 album is amazing.

Once he started wearing the sunglasses and cut his hair, their music went WAY down hill. It might sound nice, but the lyrics are not nearly as relevant, vital, or moving.

  • @Bulldog22031 whatever you say,fucknut..who the fuck are you again?

Achtung Baby is considered one of the greatest albums of all time and is a million miles better than The Joshua Tree...NLOTH (2009) is their best album since AB ...you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about

  • @wolfennyc LOL @ you getting so mad about someone else's OPINION

  • I was there!

  • @TUGA778

    Também eu! ;)

  • @Ruijor

    I was there too. !!

    U2 forever

  • @TUGA778 eu tb =) me too =)

  • @TUGA778 eu tb =) me too =)

  • NO NO NO

  • Is it horrible that I'm a huge comic geek and I actually enjoy this song? Because I do. Can't help it.

  • this is soo good!

    love it so much.

    good work!

  • Comment removed

  • Does have a Dirty Day (my favorite U2 song) feel to it, this is a really well played rock song that could catch on much like Mercy and North Star have this leg of the tour.

  • Hold me. thrill me....

  • this is song written for a musical. sounds like it fits that genre in u2 fashion

  • Great song,similar Batman song!!!

  • Love It!!

  • cool

  • This sounds like cheesy pop, they need to write stronger material like Until The End Of The World. A Spider-Man musical? What's next? A U2 covers album?

  • Great, Epic Song from best band Ever!!!

  • I agree. It does seem to be the alter ego of the batman song, but its still good.

  • proper rock and roll song

  • @TheGavio93 it's for the spiderman musical x]

  • @ell0mynameis and they're coming out with rock (U2) versions of them on an album

  • This performance is a lot better than that band that played the song on Good Morning America.

  • love it!!! Great guitar part and lyrics! I'll be so mad if they don't release this as a U2 song, and just keep it for the musical.

    (Evie)

  • One of the best songs in years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • cogg 1, don't worry about Glastonbury, you'll be over at one of the other stages soaking up the greatness of Sideways Glance. Everyone to their own.

  • This wouldn't be a good song for me to listen to going to sleep at tnight. It would make me wanna spin a web to catch all the lonely hearts--;tis rather full of emotion. Makes me want to see Spidey Turn on the Lights!

  • U2 does it again...this song is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • gud tune!!!

  • Honestly I can´t see enough similarities between this song and HMTMKMKM but that´s just my opinion...

  • @Ruijor no se parecen

  • @Ruijor the guitar riffs are similar

  • @u2feeder Actually the riff in this reminds me a lot more of the riff in the chorus of "Dirty Day" than it does HMTMKMKM... I'm almost half-expecting Bono to bust out singing, "These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill..." as they're playing. :-)

  • @apoed Same here. Reminds me more Dirty Day and Crazy tonight album than HMTMKMKM.
