  • I love the train station. How much did the platforms cost?

  • @atlfinests84 Thanks! Each platform kit comes with two platforms, and those kits cost around $35. So, in total I've spent around $70 on my platforms.

  • do cab cars( in real life) have traction motors?

  • @sawman3333 No, they are unpowered. They simply house a control stand like the one in the powered locomotive so the train can be used in push/pull operations.

  • @v12aston oh. thanks. be looking for my sd70ace review.

  • @v12aston yeah if you don't have any, you have to get yourself a couple MTH 70ACe. The sound realism on them is amazing.

  • well the layout is really nice and so are the models. The only thing I noticed was that both sound locos have the same sound chip in them and the horn is not a K5 that blows, it sounds more like an RS3 Leslie. I wish they made DCC sound decoders with the exact sound of the loco you are using... other then that, the video and everything in it was really nice. I have had Walthers Amfleet cars up until I saw this video. The Bachmans are much better. Thanks buddy...

  • @BLKdurangoTRAINhorns Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I have also noticed that the horn sounds aren't completely accurate. I wish they would customize the chips a little more, but I am still satisfied with them.

  • Nice layout

  • @BNSFfan9959 Thanks!

  • @v12aston your welcome

  • How did you make that road bed?

  • @sawman3333 I used Woodland Scenics foam roadbed covered with ballast adhered with scenic cement.

  • @v12aston were did u get ur amtrak california loco

  • @ipwnu981 I got it at discounttrainsonline com a while back.

  • Wow. Your town has VERY frequent Amtrak service :)

  • Yes, it's a very popular destination lol.

  • @v12aston Nothin' wrong with that. I take it BNSF must be the host railroad?

  • @Interestingenough4 Sort of. I have a lot different engines from different railroads, but BNSF is one of my favorites.

  • Nice looking trains

  • Thanks!

  • did i see amtrak#98 if so i have been looking for it for a long time. i got to test the real thing in my home town after it was built. i love that train

  • I'm not sure, is #98 an actual locomotive or is it a full train?

  • Very cool station and parking lot.

  • Thanks!!

  • tunnel entrance at the beginning looks like the German ICE tunnrels.

  • It's based on tunnel portals in Germany.

  • how did you get the station?I really need one for my layout.

  • I got mine from discounttrainsonline com a while back. I'm not sure where you could find one now. I think it's made by Vollmer.

  • Cool! I have a Road Champs Greyhound bus at another spot on my layout.

  • Thanks!! Yeah the Flxible Metro is made by Road Champs. It's a pretty old model, but I have been unable to find any modern HO scale bus models besides those.

  • Imma subscribe!

  • I WATCHED IT A 2ND TIME IN HD AGAIN AND IT WAS EVEN BETTER THE SECOND TIME!!!!! NICE WORK COOL-O!

  • Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for subscribing!

  • @v12aston Yeah........i liked it too. To me thats the best model train work ive ever seen. Are all those Bachmann trains? Because if they are....WHERE DO TEH SELL EM!!!! Im guessing there atlas. Anyway imma adding it to playlist, fav & watch later :-)

  • Thank you! The passenger cars at the end of the video were made by Bachmann.

  • Which engine are you referring to?

  • MUITO BOM ? PARECE DE VERDADE GOSTEI

  • Nice layout! I like the Amtrak Dash 8 and the F40PH.

  • Thanks!

  • Very awsome, especillay in HD.

  • Thanks!

  • @v12aston Your welcome. I will show you my N scale model train layout. It may look a little lame because its my first model train ive ever had and i dont have any tables to put it on or decorations(etc.)

  • steffens69 please look at my HO layout.

  • Looks good!

  • can I call sacrilege on your use of Superliner cars with a CalTran Loco?

  • Yes, but I simply can't find any accurate Amtrak California cars to run with it.

  • @v12aston understandable, just funny to see long distance cars doing commuter work.

  • awesome trains, reminds me of my polar express (only model train i ever had, but my little brother broke it YEARS ago) but i never see any scale mag-lev trains. it'd be pretty cool to have a train floating around the house lol

  • Thanks!! I agree it would be really cool to have a scale model Maglev train.

  • do u control dem wit a remote???

  • Sort of. I use Digital Command Control which sends signals through the track that tells the engines what to do.

  • Are you using a sound decoder in the F40, and if so did it come with it? I've had mine for a while and it doen't have one.

  • Yes, it has a Digitrax sound decoder made especially for the Kato F40. However, it did not come with the model.

  • Hi, just thought i'd let you know, this video is worth 4:00 of my time! Your layout is amazing!!! Good work!

  • I'm glad to hear that! Thank you so much!!

  • I just subscribed to your channel or site? Not sure what they call it here, lol. I hope you aren't offended by my ballast remark, as I in no way am trying to be negative or come across as a wise-guy here. I mean, you have one Hell of a layout & I can only hope to be half as talented as you. I've been away from the hobby some 30+ years & with all that's available out there today... well, I just hope I do everyone proud in this hobby, lol. I truly do love your layout!

  • Fantastic! I absolutely love those tunnel portals. Did you create those yourself? I've looked over several of your videos & you have given me some great ideas for my layout. My tables are finished, the homesote is glued down & I almost ready to start laying track however, I wanted to look over some more videos on YouTube before I started & I am glad I came across your videos. Excellent! Only one thing I would change (not being negative), is I think the ballast color is too light? Sorry.

  • Thanks for the comment!! The tunnel portals are made by a company called Busch. Also, I appreciate the constructive criticism, it does not offend me at all. It helps me make my layout better. Thanks for subscribing, and I am glad my videos can of some help to you.

  • do those amtrack cars work on 18 inch radious? you have a REAL nice collection!! one more question, whats the size of both layout boards? once again, great layout and collection! i subscribe!

  • Thanks for the comment! On my layout I use 22" curves. However, I am pretty sure the Kato Amtrak cars and Bachmann Amfleets run on 18" curves. I had to modify my Walthers Superliners to run on 18" radius curves. The size of the entire layout is 109.5 square feet.

  • I like the lrt

  • Nice B40-8W. Wat's that train at 0:56? Notice the pulsing light 2:11-2:31? Anyways, your collection is great. Thx 4 sharing.

  • Thanks for the comment!! The train at 0:56 is my streetcar/ tram. It's a European model since I couldn't find any American ones for sale that I liked. I think the pulsing light effect was created by the auto-focus on the camera.

  • Where did you get the subway station? It is FANTASTIC!!!

  • Thank you!! I found the station on discounttrainsonline

  • you can probaly find it on ebay

  • Most likely, or do a Google search and see which websites have it.

  • Where can I find the train on 3:05? Thanks

  • I love ur layout!

  • Thanks!

  • Lookin good. I have the same set but with one extra coach. I noticed that with your cab car both lights are on and when i converted mine to DCC i had the same probelem, the TCS FL4 works with these cabcars. I hate to tell you what to do but the alternate horn on the F40 sounds more prototypical on these units.

  • Thanks! Yeah, I'll have to try installing that decoder in the cab car. Both those lights being on all the time is bothering me. As for the horn, what CV is the horn selection under?

  • unfortunately KATO gives absolutely no help with putting a decoder in the cab cars so i hardwired/soddered a FL4 in the car. For the horn CV 150 is the alternate horn, setting it at 2 is the alternate horn and if you don't like it set it at 1 for the defalut tone.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!!

  • Not a problem, let me know how it turns out!

  • What kind of decoder do you have in your f40?

  • It's the digitrax SDH104K1C+FN04K1 Combo decoder.

  • Thanks! Do you know where it is avaliable?

  • Sorry I'm not sure, it's been over a year since I purchased the decoder.

  • can u tell me how to makethe p42 dcc?

  • My P42 is an Athearn model that is equipped with a quickplug to put a decoder into. The decoder I used was a DH123PS from Digitrax. Since my model was made recently it has the quickplug. Models made a while back may not have one.

  • thanks btw i love ur layout

  • what train are you trying to model the 1 with the P42 and amfleets??

  • I'm not sure. I usually run the HHP with those cars. I guess if I had to choose I would pick the Crescent, assuming they use those cars on that train.

  • That's a really wonderful layout! Are you using Atlas signals?

  • Thank you. I think the signals I use are from Model Power.

  • Thanks!

  • I like your layout. Especially the station and tunnels. That's really cool.

  • Thank you.
