Listen to this performance and then listen to a performance of don't drink the water from today. They sound so different!! It's amazing how much they changed over the years. Probably because Butch left. His keyboard playing was amazing. Wish he would come back. In my opinion, the earlier live performances of most of their older songs were better. Btw, best version of this song by far. DMB are still fucking amazing live but i wish they would sound more like this again (why we need Butch).

I think Dave Matthews' lyrics re colonizaton are better described as "documentary" rather than "accusatory". At the end of the day, any human culture that can dominate another will do so....to perpetuate it's own cultural, economic, religious etc interests. It's just the way humans are at this point in our development. D Matthews is a great artist but his lyrics should not be interpreted to the lowest of progressive thought
