  • lol, vanity music publishing? it's incredible how long these scams have existed :D

people are gullible. we find what appears to be an opportunity, we get a little stroke of the ego, some notice is taken of our individual value, we get some "official" evidence of a talent we all secretly believe we possess...and best of all, there's a chance to make some money.

who wouldn't get taken in? who doesn't want to find that pot of gold, finally, after so many previous rainbows turned out to be duds?

  • useful dramatic conflict for tv aside...you can't help but wonder why Mike refused to find work. working + full time college is totally normal, at least for those of us without trust funds.

walk down the street and get a job as a drugstore clerk, grocery store cashier, or bank teller, even part time...we all had to do it, lol =P

i dunno how anyone could leech off his wife like that--not even his girlfriend, she's his WIFE--and feel comfortable from day to day. it would drive me nuts.

  • One of the funniest recurring things in this show is that Mike hates Edith's singing. LOL!

  • Is this the one where Archie gets drunk and blows Edith's head off for refusing to give him oral sex?

  • @76slippery That's right. That night the Dingbat wanted anal, which led to a big argument, and he shot her dead.

  • @76slippery no that was your life

  • @76slippery i think that particular episode is in Season 5 -_-

  • 6:31 they ate awfully fast, didn't they? They just sat down, as usual and took 1-2 bites and dinner's over....They table is cleared. lol

  • sometimes they should just let meat head shut up they could have written better lines at one point he is smart the next he is screaming about a god damn luger

  • Burglar's running the town and Mike get's upset with Archie buying a gun, typical liberal wimp

  • One thing I have wondered all of these 40 years: How in the world could Mike have ever lived with a dude like Archie? With all the low income housing, friends, etc., there must have been some avenue other than living with such a knucklehead as Archie. Of course, that was what made the whole show, but I know I could not stay with him for even one day!

  • @SeattleLA I think that really showed the commitment that Mike had for Gloria. He was willing to put up with her parents until she was ready to leave the nest. He got along great with Edith though :)

  • @berryblitz07 Yes, you are right. It was very kind of him.

  • Comment removed

  • @berryblitz07 I don't think it was about his commitment to Gloria or about her not wanting to leave. As a full-time student, Mike had no income except what he earned from tutoring once in awhile and Gloria didn't earn enough to manage rent on her own.

  • Well..being a retired burglar, I can tell you..I was more afraid of coming across an armed man than I ever was of the police. Guns are a big deterrent. And its so easy for a criminal to get a gun, they would get one even if there was a gun ban. All gun bans do is take the protection away from good law abiding people, thats all it does.

  • A save your home alarm system ? how original they must have sold well.

  • Edith started tripping out because Arch came home and dinner wasn't ready. I would not want a marriage like that. Living under tension. HILARIOUS though! LOL

  • Isn't a Luger like one of the worst guns you could ever hope to use? Hope Archie's a good shot.

  • @familyfunny a luger was an excellent gun. far from the worst you can use.

  • LOL

"You see what I'm trying to say?"

"You want me to tell Edith not to serve leg of lamb."

    hilarious<3

  • Wouldn't the company pay Edith for the song, or at least for the rights to it?

  • "Get well quickly,

    Oh please do,

    'Cause im crying,

    Boo Hoo Hoo"

    HAHAHAH thats GREAT

  • agree with archie that company sounds like a rip off.

  • I miss how wives were back then..

  • my fave all in the family episode!!! thanx for uploading this gem!!!

  • Anyone who would sell a Luger for $20 is a desperate, desperate man.

  • ...with a "hot gun"..

If a gun was used on a crimescene it leaves unique marks on the bullets.

    "ballistic fingerprinting"

    That's why they're cheap.....

  • Prices were different then I guess.

  • @jsunflyguy You have got that right. Those pistols are highly sought after collector items and, from what I've heard, they are considered nearly the best made pistol in history. Some useless trivia but, they made only TWO of them in .45 caliber from what I was told. Guy who told me this said one is missing, the other is in some collector's hands and he said those weapons would each be worth well over 1 million dollars each.

  • @jsunflyguy

Yes, but remember, back in 1971 20 dollars was like 500 hundred dollars today!

  • best show ever

  • Archie "That's why you see me standing here like the Bluebird of Heaven".

I think he meant the "bluebird of happiness".

  • He said "happiness".

  • He really mumbled and I heard the word 'heaven'. You might be right he may have said happiness.

  • @whatisgoingonnow He did say happiness.

  • You sound like a regular "Billy Saul Graham". This is a very cryptic Bunkerism.

It seems Archie confused Billy Graham with ultraconservative preacher Billy James Hargis, who was parodied by Don Imus in NYC radio as "Billy Saul Hargis".

  • That Luger's an antique, they should just keep it watch it appreciate.

  • Mike's reaction, "A gun!" LMAO.

  • Did he say William Ayres is gonna sell him that German Lugar Pistol? Damn we cant get William Ayres out of our minds.

  • Who is William Ayres? They talked about him a few times on the View during the fall.

  • He was a guy that was a member of the Weather Underground in the 60s that bombed the Pentagon and other buildings. He didnt kill anyone, and he sinced changed his life and redeemed himself by becoming an educator and Professor for the University Of Chicago Illinois. There was a big hoopla about him and Obama during the election, because Obama was a member or the Annenberg Project as well as Prof. Ayers. Other than that. There was no connection to Pres. Obama and Prof. Ayers

  • He said "Willie Mears."

  • gloria is sexy

  • She was then!

  • Edith's reaction to the alarm is priceless - "Sounds like a sweet ol' dog to me!"

  • One of my all time favorites! Thanks for posting :)

  • i love this episode.
