ohhh my god took me ages to find this movie!!! its a part of my childhood... i used to watch it with my sister and cousins every saturday afternoon as my daddy had a VHS copy. how can i have a copy on DVD... i ve read some of you saying they didnt put it on DVD...so how can i just get the movie??
And I thought I was the only one!! One of the stupidest movies ever made, and one of the funniest and MOST fun. They really don't make movies like this anymore (not cliche here-truth).
Can you imagine Angelina Jolie or Tom Cruise making a movie like this?? I'd like to hear Arnold's thoughts on this movie-lol.
It's a travesty that this isn't on DVD. All the crap they've put on DVD in the last 10 years and a sweet-albeit obscure-classic like this gets ignored. That is such bullshit. Thank God I have a VHS copy in the meantime :)

black this is hardly like its a mad mad mad world, they were looking for 1 item (the treasure) in this film they have to collect many items and there was no crooked police officer behind it it was all in the will lol no hard feelings please but I disagree
I remembered my favorite part of the movie "Scavenger Hunt" was when they took off the Jack in the Box clown when they were ordering food. I hope they make this movie and sell it on DVD.
not hard t find lady, amazon or ebay but 30 some bucks, however watched this everytime it was on cable as a young teen and why doesnt tv put this back out? sure hide the classic comedies lol
I like the part when they rob the store for the cash register. That makes me laugh so hard I can't breath. They look like the unkonwn comic. My family had a savenger hunt after seeing this movie and we had teams and bins on the property and everything. It was so much fun. And the prize was Buzzy the bear.
Haha. Now this brings back memories!!!! This was shot entirely in San Diego. And a good chunk of it in Pacific Beach where I grew up. There were tons of production trucks all over the place taking up parking.
My biggest memory of this movie was not getting to watch them film it. No, it was Rodey McDowell telling me ( 8 years old at the time) to get lost when I asked him for his autograph. What a fuckin dipshit he was. To this day I still hate the fucker. But love the movie. Go figure.
It's been too long since I've seen this movie! My mom and I would watch it over and over again! But sadly our tape finally gave out, and we can't find it on DVD anywhere! It's too bad Youtube doesn't have the full movie!
I love this movie,I would love to have it on DVD,where can I get my copy of this 1979 comedy classic,I loved Richard Mulligan and Scatman Cruthers, may they both Rest in Peace!!!I have'nt seen it a really long time.
is this the movie were they are on a bridge & there are eggs on the side of it that have letters.. one of the people knock the eggs off and it messes them up 'cause they are supposed to spell something with these eggs?????
I bought this on movie VHS 15 years ago. I liked this movie because it was filmed in my home town of San Diego. Wish it was on DVD.

This was a good predecessor to the movie "Rat Race". When I saw Rat Race, it immediately brought back memories of Scavenger Hunt.

Rat Race was a remake of the movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World" - which is also what "Scavenger Hunt" was based off of.
