  • Shit mivie

  • @ramlalgandoo you wouldnt know real cinema if it slapped you in the face with its big greasy dick

  • I always get a kick out of the stick that points to the historical pictures, when trying to illustrate a point.

  • Am urât, doar timp pierdut crap

  • @algs229635 Buna roman interesat de magie :D !

  • is that a munchkin?

  • I´ve always been interested in this subject and how they used all kinds of props to accomplish the eerie feeling without any spoken words. Loved it and i wanna be a bitch from eastwick ;) (without any ass kissing thou...)

  • When one of the witches in Chapter 2 pulled out a thief's disembodied hand, I was reminded of the scene in the Blair Witch Project when Heather found Josh's tongue, hair and fingernails in a small bundle found outside their tent. The bundle looked an awful lot like the bundles in Chapter 2. I wonder if the creators of the Blair Witch Project saw this film?

  • @VDeath10 They sure did. They named their production company "Haxan"

  • This is the first time, I have ever seen this movie !

  • haha..this is one hell of a movie ever.

  • DUMBSHIT lol

  • Lol hahaha he called em lol

  • @peha2

it was made in 1922. dumbshit.

  • Shit graphics.

  • @peha2 What a nerd. This film was made 90 years ago, you putz.

  • this is very informative

  • cool movie...way to awesome for the twilight crowd....

  • Never heard of this documentary! Must watch.

  • 45:31 - heh, medieval good-cop bad-cop routine!

  • 5 commercials... 1 at the beginning that seems to last forever... 3 throughout it and 1 at the end?? Really? I am done with this BS

  • @JeremyRemixes

    Adblock.

  • WHY IS THERE A FUCKING AD IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MOVIE ? MAY SATAN DESTROY WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ParadoxapocalypSatan in the name of JESUS!!!!!

  • OMG How can anything look this good ? And the music ! Magical.

  • LOL I love the magic potion bit its great ... but sadly yes much of the world is still this simple minded and believes some of the most ridiculous things...

  • @Coyotefreak667 a boiling broth of chemicals that just came from nowhere oh i see

  • @Coyotefreak667 all right what was before or what started evolution what was before anything existing

  • @shannonandsheila1 A fair guess would be nothing for a simple mind...when will people think for themselves....The Gods did not create us WE created them. And yes I said them... I'm not one for the one true God bs.... Occupy your local public library you may learn something in those odd things called books ...

  • @CrystalsMusings started not to even reply but your out of your gourd from the sound of it it suprises me you know what a book is

  • @shannonandsheila1 For having a sense of humor? Things people believed at that time are ridiculously amusing to me. Get a sense of humor it may do you some good.

  • @CrystalsMusings yea it may thanks

  • @Coyotefreak667 that is the biggest load of mularkey from an obvious quack ive ever read this didnt just happen something started all of this

  • It is man who hates, not God.

  • True there is some theological relevance to this film, however to any fundamentalist, this is just another inappropriate venue to finger point and impose their views upon whom they judge to be wrong for even showing an interest in this subject matter. I agree wholey with LindaBkrWms. Dated as it may be, the collection and display are quite obviously, fundamentally biased in nature, yet created from a premature understanding of the subculture. Interesting content, thanks.

  • jesus christ brought me here

  • @phillyshell94 on a space ship?

  • @otterboi26 on a bike

  • The musical score that plays with the movie is so familiar. Does anyone know the composer? It's on the tip of my tongue, I just can't remember!

  • @circusteeth It's Shubert's Unfinished Symphony. It took me a while to find the name of it myself.

  • truely like the movie for its charm although the documentary aspect is dated to its time. My major pet peeve is that openflix allows all these comments that have nothing to do with the movie which truely hampered my enjoyment of true connociers of old movies. Hey openflix clear out all the useless threads so that i can follow the conversation of the viewers that really see the movie for just that...a movie

  • @lol97d if there is no god or whatever we dont understand where did all you observe mountains trees birds fish everything living come from something that moves is being moved by something any thing made has to be made by something

  • Many innocent people were persecuted because of rampant fear put out by the clergy. Most of the clergy were non believers as well. In the US, in the very early years was of no exception. They gave Satan way to much credibility. Fear drove them as well. Many innocent people were killed as well. A true believer in Christ would know the difference. Only God truly knows the hearts of men and women and all will be judged on that final glorious day!

  • This is the worst movie ever.

  • @HowardTheFrog Nope if you want a bad movie go look at transformers lol

  • @RocknRollman1995 k now that you put it that way this is the BEST movie ever! seriously, i'd rather watch this 100 times in a row than watch one more of those pieces of **** propganda movies for the military industrial complex

  • Christian's are the Death of all!

  • Love this, Glad to see it here.

  • Benjamin Christensen gives us a mindblowing view about witchhunting and the power of religion (in this case christianity).Religious or not "Haxan" (1922) is a masterpiece from the early years of cinema. This version is restored properly and the soundtrack is ok.

  • Damn straight, we do not in church!

  • @lol97d Facepalm, I mean really. The illuminati does NOT exist, and no, "The DaVinci code" was not a documentary.

  • Was this the original score? (I mean, obviously not the original recording, but the original score as written).

  • Oh wow, this one's on here. I like this film but I prefer the re-edit with William S. Burroughs providing the narration.

  • it put me to sleep

  • Very informative, but this is also my favourite comedy, simply because the narrator breaks the cardinal rule of documentaries by using judgemental language rather than act to impartially educate or present.

  • It sucks like shit

  • @dengvampira You suck like shit Arab scum.

  • OMG, how BORED was I?!?!?

  • If you think saying fuck christianity or jesus makes you anyless ignorant or hateful, think again. (and im not even religous, just tolerant and open-minded)

  • @bekah1216 Boring ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Fuck Jesus! This is beautiful...

    Fuck Inquisition!

  • @TheToxicAntichrist Seeing that you said that at least you acknowledge that their is a Jesus and your blatant disregard for him has damned your own soul when your on your deathbed i hope you remember your comment and have a change of heart may god bless you Amen

  • @MrJeffFort zzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz

  • @MrJeffFort Lol, believe what you where told from birth. I don't believe in god, never have, never will. The bible.... ....is comfort. Believe in some magic flying jew in the sky, I won't stop you.

  • Why do they put commercials in here?!

  • I love how movies like this always seem to bring about either conspiracy theorists, anti-religion advocates and just downright batshit insane people.

  • @AnKyloZilla ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzZZZzz

  • @AnKyloZilla What does insane mean? Who gets to choose what insanity is and what is not? I bet your Jewish. I love how movie's like this always seem to bother religious folks. Even tho you believe in a religion that worships death. Your just a sad being that is to cowardly to face reality. A reality that is driven by dialectic materialism. Your a fool but I wont call you insane.

  • @baraqijal15 1. I love the movie. It's one of my all time favorites of the silent era. 2. You're an anti-semite. 3. You only proved my point.

  • @AnKyloZilla Your right. I am an anti-semitic. Does that make me insane? No, im just as anti-religion as Jesus was. I don't have a phobia of Jew's. Nor am I prejudice against them. I am against the idea of the religion in general. You cant call me batshit insane for having my own religious opinion.. I am agnostic aswell as I am an "anti-religion advocate".. How can you call that insanity.. Especially in this world we live in.. THATS insane too you? give me a break... of that kit cat bar.

  • @baraqijal15 And I'm agnostic.

  • Sweden ftw :D

  • Well thanks for clearing that up. Goodbye

  • "Religion and Psyence are the two faces of the same coin used by the control freaks who run this planetary mind control mess. Reject both of them."

    77GSlinger

  • häftig musik :D men varför läste jag engelska texten :/

  • i think its the best thing to happen to witchcraft besides judy garland

  • I find this to be absolutely hilarious :D

  • This movie, even being 90 years old, will look over 4 times better on DVD viewed on an HD screen, and over 5 times better projected from a good 35mm print. Not everyone has the resources. But DVD's are pretty easy to come by nowadays.

  • @FungusMossGnosis And a opinion on old movies from me, I know that they will never be in the best quality they probably were back in their day, but do I really have to say I know that? At least I can accept they will never be in their best quailty, but I still watch them in the best quailty I can find. Don't try and make me sound like I don't appriciate old movies and make me sound like a douche. Was commenting back your way of trying to make the world make me look bad or something? I hope not

  • @LyleBennet

Okay, sarcasm aside: I appreciate where you're coming from. Many people choose to view online for reasons of economy, or laziness - I wasn't trying to insinuate that this was why you were. Personally, I rent historically important and acclaimed films on DVD first, if I can't view them theatrically, because it's best, easiest way for me. Not everyone feels this way. So be it. When it comes to many shorts or cheap exploitation movies, I will view them this way. I'm not absolutist!

  • Clips from this movie were used in a promo video for the late 60's occult rock group Coven.

  • Kill your advertisements!

  • I just heard about this movie today while browsing the Criterion Collection website. I'm pleased to be able to watch it for free.

  • @ghostwriter11 Thanks!

  • What is the name of the mysterious (yet ubiquitous) piece of music that plays through the beginning minutes? I've been lazily wondering for years!

  • @Inediblehulk

It's an arrangement for salon orchestra of Scubert's "Unfinished" Symphony. The original full orchestra version is at this YT vid: 3ySpn8E-dAE.

  • @Inediblehulk

To answer your question about the soundtrack. That is Franz Schubert 1st symphony. Have a good day :)

  • instead of just christianity this also should be taught

  • BOORRRRRRINNNNNNGGGGGG

  • @AnddWon dude the movie was made in 1923

  • Thanks for sharing this obscure masterpiece in cinematography. Classics like these should be accessible for everybody as an ode to the artists who produced it.

  • this is what movie art looks like

  • One of my favorite films. Thank you for uploading this film.

  • This is a very obscure ass film...thank you!!

  • Very interesting and thought-provoking. The soundtrack is superb, also. Thank you for sharing this look into our very dark past. It makes me despise "christianity" and its pious "pushers" all the greater.

Not much has changed, though. Religion continues to fill the world with pain and suffering -regardless of which one you follow. You can find "heaven" or "hell" in humanity - every day.

    Thanks again!

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 Yup, we are all sinners, so heaven And hell are both found in us, but the "hell side" seems to shine through stronger, sadly. Down with Religion!

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 @givemeafuknbreak111 Why is "christianity" in quotes? Is it a misnomer? Should it be "Jesusology"? And if you're disparaging missionary-types, shouldn't it be the quotes be around "pious"? I don't even necessarily disagree, I'm just confused.

  • @blckclbrtn My apologies if you did not understand my message. English is not my primary language, although it is no excuse for my poor grammar. Are you an English teacher and christian missionary, by the way? No offense intended (or taken), but you DID start a sentence with "And"... Lighten up; take it easy! ;-)

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 Ha! No, I'm neither of those things, nor am I generally a grammar nazi; I actually wasn't sure if you were actually referring to Christianity, or if you were saying that you despised what the film was presenting as being "Christianity". I do admit the "Jesusology" bit was snarky, though :)

And technically there's nothing wrong with starting a sentence with a conjunction! Many people do consider it bad form, but it's not incorrect. :P

  • @blckclbrtn Heh, heh, no worries, mate! I was brought up in a Roman Catholic environment with some African-influenced saint worshipping (santería) thrown in for good measure. My parents ended up adopting the Jewish faith (go figure) and I have become a vehement atheist (big surprise there, I know, LOL). Due to these things and the history of christianity's rise -having been forced onto the general populace- resulting in death to the unbelievers/pagans/witches, is what I really despise.

  • PS: You are right about starting sentences with conjunctions! It has never truly been incorrect; only discouraged -usually by english teachers- Touché! I stand corrected!

Makes me feel kinda old, though! LOL

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 Don't let the mistakes of extremeists and inquisitors from centuries ago harden your view on Christianity. I'm a christian and I have a very tolerant viewpoint. I have no hatred against wiccans, pagans and neo-pagans. Aside from what iquisitorial people say, Christianity is a very loving religion. The true belief is what matters, not what a phalable human might say. :)

  • @Jakegothicsnake Well put, sir. I do not hate anyone, regardless of religion, race, age, background etc.. What I do dislike is people who would say I lead a sinful life and will be tortured for eternity unless I repent now (in order to become a slave for eternity, go figure!)! I still live my life by the rules; "Do unto others..." is still my credo. I teach my children good morals and manners, and hurt no one. Yet I believe in... me.

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 you makin my brain hurt its too small to read all that

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 for this you despise christianity ? what a simpleton flimsy reason ask first yourself what have you done in your life and to others do not blame the religion it is the person deeds or act not the religion watch your words carefully , and i am sure you are moslem

  • @ceboym God hates people who refuse to use spell check!

  • @spfxartist

Pastor Fred Phelps says "God hates fags."

I suppose he can hate both.

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 "Religion continues to fill the world with pain".

So does corporate owned slave psyence which has produced this hell hole world of: war, slavery, toxicity, rampant pollution, inequality, caste systems, backwards technologies and ubiquitous environmental destruction. Science has ruined our world every bit as much as religions have.

Religion and Psyence are the two faces of the same coin used by the control freaks who run this planetary mind control mess. Reject both of them

  • @77GSlinger "Science has ruined our world every bit as much as religions have." How do you figure?

  • @aaronrocs See my website for a 1200 page description of the myriad of reasons.

  • @77GSlinger Okay.......I'll check it out....but I gotta say, I get the feeling I may be talking with a loony. Whats the site?

  • @aaronrocs If you think I am a a looney then it reveals the level of personal mind control you are operating under. There is nothing looney about exposing the truth about the corruption and mind control which is slaving our fellow humans into an orwellian hell. See my many playlists debunking quackademic theories and their dumbed down slave psyence and you will know very quickly who runs this planetary hell hole racket. I wish you much enlightenment and love. Many Blessings Robert

  • @77GSlinger Yeah, cool....whats the website?

  • @aaronrocs Free Thinking and Free Energy, just google it and it will be the first one on the list. Blessings Brother!

  • @77GSlinger O.K. I'll check it out for due diligence, but some things you must think about, for instance. If we didn't have a good scientific grasp on the atom or particle physics, do you really think we would be able to make nuclear reactors or Atomic/Hydrogen bombs? Your website says it's all quackery, but really, is it?

  • @aaronrocs Well the theory of the nuclear atom has been debunked since its inception. My profs told me in 1976 that it was false yet it is still taught, why? Yes, we can create fission and that's what we do in reactors and bombs, but fusion is a theory and quacks have taught us the Sun is a nuclear furnace which is false, it is an electro-magnetic plasma sphere. Nuke fusion is a false theory which they use to build tokamak reactors which have all failed and become highly radioactive and toxic!

  • @77GSlinger So what say you about the H-Bomb? I've seen the footage of their explosions. Did they just get lucky making it and it's working was coincidence?

  • @aaronrocs Just more fission, not fusion as some may claim. There is no nuclaer atom, it was all just a huge qrong guess which has been forced on mankind to slave us into a false system of psyence which insures the energy barons, war mongers and central bankers may rule our lives for as long as is possible.

They did not get lucky making it, fission is provable fusion is not. That's why the tokamak reactors will never work. 48 billion dollars in taxpayer money wasted again!

  • @77GSlinger I have to ask you a serious question: Do you believe the human heart does not act as a pump, pumping blood through the body?

  • @aaronrocs Yes, it is a vortex regulator and has never pumped any blood. Blood implodes, juts lke water, ar, electricty, light, sap, etc. See my playist "Vortex Heart" for many vids by Frank Chester who proved our Heart's space geometry and showed how the heart actually works to regulate implosion and not to pump blood. If the heart pumped blood the thin bottom tissue of its apex would explode! It does not! There is 10 g's of suction in the heart!

  • @77GSlinger Was reading some of your comments...Science in itself has not ruined this world..nor has religion..People have ruined this world..a.k.a. the creators of such thought processes. It is man's quest for power and control that have screwed this planet up..But that's a select few that have been given such control..Sounds like you too are a slave by believing what your so called Professors have filled your head with. Without Science, we wouldn't have this way of communicating.

  • @DruinFeyfolk You have mssed the point altogether I am talking about zionist owned slave psyence of einstein and his ilk of mythematicians. Our communication has nothing to do with those lame theories. Now that CERN has broken einstein's limit to the speed of light, all of his bullshit theories will fall and all who worshiped him will fall also. I am no slave dude! I have debunked this stuff for a decade now and I have been vindicated of all attacks by folks like yourself. Your psyense is dead!

  • @givemeafuknbreak111 Religion has absolutely nothing to do with God. God hates religion and the acts of the religious. God has forbidden the "pushing" of Christianity, to "push" it totally misses the entire point that God makes. Religion continues to fill the world with pain & suffering, of this I agree fully. Rites & rituals are extremely religious acts.

  • Oh wow, this movie is on YouTube? That's easier than getting it off Amazon.

  • @LyleBennet and it's free.

  • @LyleBennet

But it's much lower quality image online. The quality of the image becomes even more important with pre-dialog movies. People should make a little effort to watch classics in as good quality as possible. I realize everyone can't afford Criterion Collection (I can't!)...ever hear of Netflix?

  • @FungusMossGnosis Old films should be watched with the best version with the best picture, but without insulting the film or any other films of it's time, the picture quality will be bad anyway because of how old it is. Back then it wouldn't have exactly been crystal clear, so I don't really mind, but I see what you mean.

And no, not everyone can afford Criterion Collection, but if I could and you could I'm sure we would get them.

I've heard of Netflix, never used it though

  • @LyleBennet

Okay, that's simply not true. Some of the best photographed movies I've ever seen were made 85, 90 years ago. They probably looked magnificent back then; so many of the existing films are deteriorated, but that no reason to assume they had lower standards than today. 90 years from today, if Avatar or Black Swan weren't preserved in the best possible way, they'd look far worse than Metropolis or Pandora's Box do on high definition preservation.

You might like Netflix, it is cheap.

  • @FungusMossGnosis Oh, did I say something wrong? If they were some of the best photographed movies back then then the award winning media course I am on at college is useless. And you are even uncertain yourself, "they probably looked magnificent back then". 'Probably'? And yes I should assume they had lower standerds? Movie cameras had more or less just been invented, they didn't have digital back then. The video cameras in the 60s were better and different to ones decades earlier.

  • @LyleBennet

....Calm...Down.....I said "probably," judging by what I know today. I don't have a time machine, but we do have well-preserved stills. And " they didn't have digital back then" — Thank God! The art of cinema never would have advanced as it did had they digital technology from the beginning.

Your Award-Winning Media Course in College doesn't mean much, apparently, true. I watched my first silent film when I was 14, meaning I have only 13 years experience at it. We're still learning.

  • @FungusMossGnosis There is no such thing as time travel so how do you know they looked good? Remember you said "probably". They didn't have as good as film projectors in cinemas like they do now. And I do know that after time things can slowly get bad, I never said they weren't bad when they were released. My award winning course must be very bad indeed for teaching us all sort things on movie history.

  • @FungusMossGnosis And if you want to know the truth, I respect movies but I'm not going to buy a DVD of an old film like this before I see it or look into it very deeply or unless there is a good DVD version. With films nowadays I can freely get on DVD and all I have to do is read a good review or see a trailer or hear about it in casual conversation. But no one I know talks about old films like this, so I am watching it on YouTube because I can't find any good material that will convince me yet

  • @FungusMossGnosis And I hope your final comment about Netflix being cheap is more of a helpful statement then suggesting I'm a cheap skate or something. And I know movies look better on DVD than on YouTube or a movie website. I am just watching old movies online because I can't find any really good review that would convince me to get it onto DVD straight away. And thanks for the sarcastic comment "DVDs are pretty easy to come by nowadays", well duh! Like I said, if there is a good copy I will

  • What The HECK is this??

  • nice
