Some Hindus did support the Muslims because it was pragmatic to do so. But when Hindu kingdoms gained power, valiant kings fought against your precious Mughal empire, and destroyed it. Had it not been for the British, India would have overthrown the Muslims entirely and established Hindu rule over the Hindu homeland again. The Muslim homeland is Mecca, and the Hindu homeland is Bharat. Why do Muslims covet land that belongs to other people? Why can't you just live and let live?

Even if Bharat did not exist, that does not mean that India belongs to the Hindus. India is the Hindu homeland. The Muslims invaded India by force, raped women, killed people, and looted. No Hindu is advocating invading Hejaz and taking Mecca away from the Muslims. If the Hindus did this, wouldn't their rule over it be invalid? Similarly, the rule of the Nizams in particular was illegitimate. The Indian annexation of Hyderabad was the removal of an illegitimate king.

India has not developed because of its socialist economic policy and spineless appeasement policies toward Chinese Communism and Jihadi terror. That a regime is powerful and successful in some aspects does not make its founding ideology legitimate, nor does economic failure make a government ideologically illegitimate.

That change the fact that these same kings butchered Hindu rulers to take power, looted them, and razed temples to the ground at places like Somanath, which was destroyed 6 times. The British destroyed a perfectly good Hindu education system and replaced it with their own Eurocentric one.

@martyr732 The caste system is not Vedic. It is a corruption of an initially flexible system that hardened over time. The Vedic sages said that all living beings are divine and therefore equal. The British utilized the caste system to divide and conquer. They did not give a systematic system of government; they destroyed the Hindu monarchies which were very systematic. That India is a republic due to their influence does not make their draining the country of resources okay.
