  • I believe this is from the 1957 inaugural recording made by Mercury at Ford Auditorium. After being abandoned for over 20 years, Ford Auditorium was demolished this past week. However, the Aeolian-Skinner organ from the hall has been rescued, and plans are made to install it at St. Aloysius Church in downtown Detroit. You can Google it. :D

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THE DETROIT SYMPHONY HAD DEEP, MOTOR CITY POCKETS AND COULD THEN AFFORD THE BEST OF ALL PLAYERS AND CONDUCTORS...

  • So Detroit is not only the birthplace of Funk, and Soul in the 60s and 70's, and Techno in the 80's but also was up there in the 50's with Organ music. I didn't realise this, is there something in the water.

  • L'une des meilleurs versions de cette symphonie grandiose.
