When I meet the requirements should I just post it on YouTube or would you like me to send the videos to you via download link? Also for the handstand pushups does it need to be nose to floor or just forehead to floor? I still haven't given up but it will be a little longer before I have it down.
@Omega52 if I was interested in defending myself, the last place id go is an american kenpo school.Have a look at the 1000s of kenpo vids on here and tell me that reflects an understanding of what happens in combat or how to train for it.
@Omega52 If you think that having strength, speed, flexibility, endurance, balance, coordination will not help save you from being beat up, you are strongly mistaken. The efficientcy of our bodies is what makes us capable.
@FreddiesModernKungFu Working out alone certainly won't. You could spend 5 hours a day at the gym every day and some fat asshole could pull a gun or knife on you and end everything just like that, what's important is the skill it takes to defend yourself. Fitness is a bonus, not a necessity. If you are some huge muscular in shape guy and someone is going to attack you, I promise they are going to be intimidated and use a weapon anyways, people aren't stupid.
@Omega52 I'm not saying working out alone will protect you from all harm, but neither will training in techniques alone will prevent you from all harm. As you stated, guns and knives make all of the capabilities of our bodies almost worthless. Ultimately, the most important is awareness and this has nothing to do with fitness or MA technique. Fitness alone is nothing compared to MA technique and fitness. MA technique alone is nothing compared to FItness and MA technique.
1: Fitness and MA technique is nothing compared to Fitness, MA technique, and Spiritual Awareness. Being fit and healthy has nothing to do with being huge.
... I'd think I'd rather just go out and buy a gun. Or mace. Or any weapon that can potentially hurt and/or kill someone. Also, the whole "Promise not to compete?" Jesus, since when has there been an up roar in underground street fighting? Christ, fuck this, I'm buying a gun.
If we all buy guns then we will all be capable of killing, then we will be equal in that respect. Now from there what provides us with a greater chance of survival when you and everybody else is armed? Peace, love, compassion, respect, without that your chances of survival decrease dramatically. Promise to compete is similar to someone having you make a promise that you will only use the gun when your life is truly in danger not just to shoot and kill just b/c you want to compete or b/c u r angry
Why do most great martial artists like Michael Jai White, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, and yourself never enter organized competitions like UFC if youre so good?
@BigBlackSphere because they arent competetive fighters, they know they have no chance against a competetive fighter, they are stuntmen and showmen, not fighters
A competitive fighter has no chance against a violent outlaw. Competitive fighters are entertainers just like actors, stuntmen, & showmen. Competitive fighters are no different than pro wrestlers accept that they make take real damage to the brain in order to entertain the crowd. This is stupid in their part as they are jepordizing their health and well being in order to entertain others. Not all competitive fighters are competent. Just b/c someone does not compete does not make him incompetent
@FreddiesModernKungFu SO YOU HAVE a chance against a Violent out law?? Anderson silva would destroy you and a violent outlaw at the same same, You think you so strong, if Anderson silva arms were as short as yours he could do everything that your doing ( Mr. Silva is actually stronger than you are, your short arms give you balance and more benching ability that taller people do not have, doesn't mean your stronger! BENCH Proves nothing (muay thai Clinch means everything!
@Omega52 ufc isnt a sport, its an organisation ,mma is the sport and the most realistic legal way to test your skills. The methods used in 99% of martial arts pale by comparison.Of course it ignores the psychology of self defense and weapons but the training method of fullcontact wearing protection is the best by far.MMA is match fighting though and has different goals and strategies to outside the dojo,so you need to adapt to that.
@billysue2 Sparring is the most realistic legal way to trest your skills, not MMA. MMA is commercialized cage competition fighting based around rules of engagement. Real fighting cannot be completely duplicated, real fighting happens spontaneously always with the possiblity of real death. The methods of the Martial Arts is why MMA is in existence so how can you say that 99j% of it is ineffective, if 99% of it is ineffective then MMA is also 99% ineffective, they go hand in hand.
1 MMA is Martial Arts commercialized. How is it called full contact when you are wearing protection, the simple use of protection already makes it not full contact b/c the protection is preventing you from recieving the maximum contact that is delivered, this can hardly be realistic. As in real life we are not wearing cups, mouthguards, head gear. It is the best way according to you b/c you don't know of any better but there is truth beyond what you are capable of seeing.
2: "MMA is match fighting and it has different goals and strategies then to outside the dojo, so you need to adapt to that." That simple adaptation already makes the fighting style less effective when placed in real life situations of combat when your life is really in danger. Real martial arts prepares you for the real violence that can occur in everyday life not through controlled competitions of combat. You do not need to adapt to the rules of competition if you do not enter competitions.
@FreddiesModernKungFu im saying that you need to fight with rules comparable to mma in practice if you want to be prepared for the street and he doesnt go down with a preemptive shot. You dont necessarily need to compete. You can create senarios but should always be full contact and allow wrestling and striking upright and ground.Within that framework you can try your martial arts but most dont work very well under pressure, its combat sports that work time and time again .
@FreddiesModernKungFu full contact doesnt have anything to do with whether protection is worn,if they wore pillows it would still be full contact.MMA gloves and wraps make the punches harder and protects the hands, have a look at pre glove nhb and youll see far less punching and with less effect. It isnt possible to train realistically without gloves etc so they are necessary to get better, training withot them is either useless or far too dangerous.
@FreddiesModernKungFu mma is sparring ,just competitive format. The point you are missing is that reality can never be trained for fully but mma sparring with adaptations for uncontrolled situations is the best method by far.The arts that work in MMA are combat sports ,proven methods that feature full contact ,full resistance sparring, the ones that dont are bollox,in a ring, cage or parking lot.
@BigBlackSphere Well for one Bruce Lee is dead but the man would have whooped anybody they could put in his weight division. The philosophy behind many martial arts is that the training you do is to better yourself and stop unnecessary violence. UFC isn't real fighting either. UFC still has holds, moves and areas you aren't allow to execute or hit.
@BigBlackSphere you cant be a great martial artist without being a great figter, thats a contradiction in terms, the people you mention are good athletes and good at their styles ,doesnt mean they can apply ot.
@BigBlackSphere B/c that goes agains the spirit of the Martial Arts. True Martial Art is training towards survival in uncontrolled spontaneous settings. Like a life of a Police Officer, it is not a game of winning or losing a match where you can try again if you do not succeed, a truly dangerous situation many times either means life or death. Real martial arts is supposed to be utilized only in these siutations not be be exploited in competion fighting in which to make profit.
1: You do not have to hurt other people in order to demonstrate that you have power, skill, talent, etc. Only bullies do this. A true Martial Artist is not a bully.
@FreddiesModernKungFu MMA fighters are not bullies They are the best, Bravest martial artist in the WORLD, They have the spirits of True Warriors, And MMA is still evolving!
Hi Freddie. this doesnt relate to the video but i just want to ask you a question because i know you were a former police officer. is it true that police are living in a racist, sexist, and classist system of oppression?
please answer this because i respect your views and thoughts. i got into a heated discussion about police officers all being oppressive and trained as an institution to be racist and oppressive.
@dkblade27 That is how they are trained and it is difficult to be within that system and uphold the true way, many times if you do not conform to the majority you will be forced out and that is what happended to me.
ive been tryin to find some things to do so i can get fit. i know i wont be able to do it as good as u and a lot of other ppl but do u still suggest me to do this? and how often a week should i do this?
So, I'm not sure I understand. I love Jujitsu and want to compete in Jujitsu, it's very fun... So I want to know if you look down on people like me that like to go and play Jujitsu or whatever their style is. I feel like if I never actually throw people, or do submissions on people fighting back I can't do it in real life...
Nice, I am 17 years old and I can do all requirements even for 20-29 category. But I live in Europe so maybe when I will be older I move to the USA and I will be able to train FMK with you. That would be awesome experience to meet you personaly and train with you. Cya
@FlaknuuTe You are in great shape. I have different levels of acheivement. There is advanced (Blue) and then Elite (black). If you reach the Elite status then you will be at the instructor level in physical fitness. If you submit your video I can allow you access to private lessons. You can train in the techniques, once you achieve a high level you can come visit for a week or longer and we can spar everyday so that you can understand the techniques.
There is Ego both ways, all forms of competition is Ego and those that think they are better than others b/c they don't compete is another expression of the Ego. Though what is most important is identifying this Ego and not being a slave to it. If one is to lean towards one than the other, people would be better off having a noncompetitive Ego. We all have Ego's some large some small, what makes the difference is how you direct this Ego in which to do good for society. Understand
I have created many videos stating my reasons as 2 why. I can type pgs & pgs but I can give a short summary. Competition is of the Ego, the highest state in any Art is the realization of no Ego, no mind, this realization is deep inner peace. This is the highest ideal, many R unable 2 reach this ideal, those who can't I suggust healthy competition. Unhealthy competition breeds violence, hatred, anger. I do not promote violence, I promote peace. People should work together not against each other
I really respect the philosophy behind this martial arts. I must also say thank you because I used to be extremely dedicated to martial arts and physical conditioning but in the past few monthes I've been drifting away from it slowly and this gives me an opportunity to rededicate myself and train more. I've been in between schools for a while but none of them had any real standards and I really enjoy this kind of challenge to improve myself. I will make a video.
@kickerwithkick2 I'm looking forward to your video and I'm looking forward to seeing you maintain your level of fitness throughout your entire life. I would be honored to have someone who works hard to represent this Art.
@superionfist Yes only the combat technique lesson videos are private everything else that is peaceful in nature that I have to teach is open to the public. I'm looking forward to seeing your video!
