@Choncy21 I'm paid 15/hour to do this job and I'm a student so it's really good for me.
and my boss always says "our lives are worth more than the items on the shelves" he doesn't want us to get in a fight, if it's too risky, let the guy go and take as much info as you can :p
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY well, its the only job that u can catch criminals, get huge adrenaline rush before every stop, u never know what u will see that day, EVERYDAY is different, its fun, u get to better understand peoples thinking, u will see kids get their ass whooped by their parents when they come to pick them up, or if u get to bust one with the parents the walk back to the office is hularious!!! best job ever
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY u dont catch people everyday, depending on ur risk level of the store, and all u have to do is go to jcpennys, belk, etc, and say i would like to speak to your loss prevention manager and ask them if they are hiring, i had no lp experience, and i was with my company already and saw the lp manager at subway in the food court and got interviewed on my lunch, now after almost 2 yrs, im a legend at my local mall where im at, just apply, that easy
@midnitesi since i dont have experience, could I say I have skill in catchin and kno the ways of shop lifting, cuz I kno how they think and act (I used to be one, so i would kno, plus i have seen people and i actually kno when theyre stealin) could i say that?
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY just say, that u would like to learn the skill of being loss prevention, and that u have been studying psycholigical triats of shoplifters in ur area, never say u use to do it, u wont get the job, but u have that much more knowledge than the average person
if u go into a big store and you dont have shoppin cart or one of those carryin carts. and u look bummy and wearin baggy clothes. your probably shopliftin, dats just my opinion
blah blah, all i hear is bullshit, the reason is you dont steal inside of stores, because they are designed to be theft proof
you rob people's homes for easiest money, or steal from their warehouse, because its got all the shit there, and nobody paid to watch it then, if it is someone there, you stab them in the gut and nobody would be around to see it,
to people who want to steal, dont go inside stores, they are designed for protection from the inside out, they have double doors for a reason
@Jackalofdeath A) youre a moron who is going to end up in prison and B) dont front like your tough like "ima stab someone in their house"- youre a pussy, end of story.
@Jackalofdeath Incorrect. The second he decided to steal by pocketing the merchandise, the LPO's were more than likely waiting for him to leave the store. The loss prevention were only allowed to act upon him leaving the store. Chances were, they were just waiting. Doesn't really matter if you hang around or not. You steal, you might get away with it a few times, but eventually you'll get caught.
@XXXXXpimptaddyone, no there is no racial profiling when we monitor people, their behavior and actions among their first appearance in the store to when they leave is what determines who to monitor. Baggy clothing is a misunderstood stereotype that people view as a shoplifter which is used to conceal items without any bulge in their clothing, avoiding detection that they have something on them.
Best part about being an LPO is that you get to see people do slick things, especially when you were a cashier like I used to be. When you see it they look so obvious because that's your job, watch people. But my absolute favorite part my opinion, is the confrontation when you make the stop. Their reactions are priceless. Either scared shitless or rebellious, rebellious being my favorite apprehension.
I work for LP at JCPenney's... its a fun job! Some ppl are idiots and make it so obvious that they are up to know good.. and there is some that are good at stealing... loose clothing is a big red flag... they can stuff more things in there pockets or wear them under their clothing... but anyways LP is a fun job but also risky!! Stay safe out there all LP's
Actually they followed him because they already saw him put something in his pants. He brought it upon himself. You just have a problem with authority.
He's by himself mostly, but I'd review to see if he came in (or within close proximity of time) with the black couple and the man at the service desk. Notice the interactions, they pretend they're not together but there's something there worth questioning. I always review them comming in, you'll open up a whole new door of suspects that are associated!
we had a case like this. this group was into us for about $15,000. they would come in alone but, meet in the back together in electronics. we finally app'd them last satuday.
The guy was just a novice shoplifter. He tries to keep the heat off by walking around fast like the cameras can't keep up, but the nervous walking just puts the spotlight on him. Carrying the items he want to boost in front of him in a unnatural carry position is another giveaway. The exit stall by getting gum out of the machine was a dumb move. He should have booked after hitting the sidewalk, LP usually won't go past the curb to pursue. His conceal was ok, but he messed up in other areas.
At 2:40 is a good example why the cuffs should not be brought out until the supspect is in a "cuffable" position. You lose your hands because you are holding your cuffs, instead of being able to defend and bring the suspect down.
