  • I bring everclear and instant lemonade for the majority and a couple shots of fine tequila for special locations

  • lol camping for drunks !

  • I have that same tent. I make my dog carry it when I go interior camping.

  • what is your favourite park to canoe in?

  • I use cheese cloth and make sure to place the cheese in the centre of the food barrel and in the shade. Mold may form but I cut the outside off and feed it to the dog. And buy the cheese with preservatives in it.

  • Gross :( that would clog up an elephant!

  • @tpm1602 Oh boy the token health nut....

  • @cameraguy1968 lol Well your health is important no?

  • @KCHappyCamper You are kidding right? No one and I mean no one today advises people to buy food with preservatives in it. Thats the worst advice I have heard in a while. Do you not know how bad preservatives are for the human body?

  • Hey Kevin! Love the videos and gear demos, saves allot of people allot of time and potential problems. I see in this video you have 2 blocks of cheese! How do you ensure it keeps on a 12 day canoe trip or any length of trip for that matter?

PS I bought a vital stove and love it!

  • I go paddling in the Adirondacks and I bring EVERYTHING I want - weight no issue - I bring a cooler! Granted, no long portages. Coffee? REAL coffee WITH hal and half AND hot chocolate for flavoring! Breakfast? GOOD granola cereal WITH FRESH blueberries and raspberries! YES, I'm a knucklehead, but I have yet to do a wilderness canoe trip in which I really had to go easy on weight and space.

  • I meant I should have brought more...I mean less.

  • I've always wondered what Kevin packs for food, thanks for the inside peek! Our food barrel looks pretty similar for breakfast, lunch and snacks.....but its the dehydrated veg we skip. So the barrel fills up pretty quickly with fresh veg (onions, carrots, garlic, potatoes, corn, cukes, celery etc) The one must have on our trip is hot chocolate mix. Great blended with instant coffee for breakfast moccachinos.

  • great! i love it. lots of variety there. i'll be doing a 5 night here pretty soon...sometimes i bring a cooler bag with beer just for the first night ...it seems to set things off right :-)

  • nice. you always need mix drinks in the back country..
