Great video Bryan! I've been watching your videos and find them really informative. I may be leaving in Aug of this year, so I've been doing my research. I was initially very nervous because I've never really done anything on my own. Did you sign a 6 month or 1 year contract?
@Redvelvet502 Hey thanks for the comment and the subscription! I signed a year long contract with a Kindergarten in Seoul. As far as I'm aware, there aren't many 6 month contracts. Year long contracts are definitely more the norm. Anyway, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Not a personal attack on you in its self. If korea is your first country out of the states then i am sure it would dazzel even the the most small minded people. But there is a wealth of other countries to go and enjoy. It seems a crying shame that so many decent young teachers waste there time there, albeit for a little cash in their pocket at the end. Lets be honest, Koreans are the most unfriendly people i have ever met on my travels 29 countries and counting.
Yea nice one mate. There are art galleries and net shops and people banging on drums. Its hard to convince ones self that its a great place. Basic facts, Korea good for money sucks on culture. If youre not chasing the cash then try Japan heaps better. Or even south East Asia. Trust me from someone who was trying to convince himself Korea was good, it wasnt. Youre grasping at straws mate.
My undergrad was in journalism. I didn't contact a recruiter until June of last year, and I took off for Korea August 30th. So a little less than 3 months.
You did a really good job on this video - very candid and natural.
And it hits home, too. I definitely felt this way when I was in Japan, and the loneliness I felt halfway through fueled my quest for personal adventures.

How long were job seeking before you landed a job in Seoul? Also what was your undergrad degree in? Just curious, thanks, enjoyed the video!

Hey, thanks! I feel that going abroad causes people to become more independent.
