  • Try a smaller pitch prop for better acceleration....

  • if you lift the motor a little more the hydrofoil should come out the water and no drag

  • Gaaah!! Nice ! =)

  • Those old e-rudes were great !!

  • それでなんなのよ~?

  • gotta love the sounds of an evinrude

  • ma e modificato

  • smart tabs. Best $100 you can spend, hands down. On plane faster than a foil and no lost power.

  • ciao quanto km fa?

  • thanks, that was useful. i was thinking about to buy one. u've changed my mind.. don't want to spend money just to to see if it works on my boat/motor combination or not. 11' inflatable with 8hp. a there any tutorials how to select hydrofoils?

  • dude dont even bther putting hydros on an inflateable they alredy plane fast. it would also flip cuz their so light.

  • The speeddecrease/increase is maybe in this case cause of the boat modell and/or maybe it´s a cheaper version of hydrofoil because it varies from boat to boat and sometimes cheaper things work and sometimes they don´t...gonna see if i can fix my DVcamera and proof it for you with a video so you can see that if you get good things they will work.

  • The problem with this foil is it that a single foil does not do much . It helps get on the plane faster. But since it is screwed into the cavitation plate, it becomes extra wetted surface and hence increases the drag. There are foil systems that work. This is not one of them.

  • cant beat a good ol jhonnyrude

  • Oh OK, thank you for this notice. I precisely wondered if the drag created really made lose speed, but the sellers tell people that this "new" drag is counterbalanced by the loss of floating surface under the boat.

But yes, it may be a good thing if you can't balance weight because you are often alone rear of a boat who has a powerful engine (such as your 50 hp), to get fast on plane.

  • I definitely lost speed. It IS useful to get on plane faster, but causes a lot of drag. I didn't believe it either. My boat came with one, and I took it off.

  • Do you really lose speed WITH the hydrofoil ?

I have read on the website of a company who sell hydrofoils that you have a better speed and use less fuel. I was thinking of buying one for my boat, but if it isn't actually that good...
