Maravilla de tema. Un clásico en Valencia en los 80. Sobretodo en Barraca, y después en Spook Factory, donde Fran Lenaers lo solía mezclar con el maxi de "Uncertain Smile" de los The The.
@Quixilvertheband No its not..... That is exactly the same speed as my 12" vinyl copy... I also have a copy of "Nowhere Girl" on a compilation LP from the same period and that is actually very slightly slower in tempo... Maybe that's the version you have in mind? Remembering of course that the record companies were churning out dozens of versions.... I have 4 or 5 different 12" versions of Visage's "Visa-age"!!
This came out before I was born. I first heard it on Richard Blades Flashback Favorites compilation album, loved it. Share it with friends all the time along with other great music of the 80's. @2:37 amazing
Man oh man!...years gone by, memories made, music that's kept deep within the heart cuz of various circumstances. All I got to say is this jam here was and for whatever reason stayed underground. Back when this song came out certain clubs be playing this tune, obviously I'm refering to new wave oriented clubs. En esos tiempos todos eramos tan felices, tan simples, fiestas nocturnas con borracheras pero eramos mas sanos, mas elocuentes, mas ochentas!!! Como extraño esos tiempos!!!
@metalkrush77 ....OMG! KROQ ruled my listening world from '78 to '89 when I left Cali and went to the east coast for Army basic training and then out fo the country for 3 years. Nowhere played alt music liked they did. I was in such a deprived state for years.... And when I came back it wasn't the same. I think Rodney was the driving force and then he died and it wasn't the same after that.
I Agree Music is crap now and theres really almost nothing we can do about it ...Except keepour bloved albumz close 2 heart and hope that they never find a way 2 to take that from us I mean look iam a youngster iwas born in the late 80's i grow up in the 90's I love punk and hip hip even though it's shit now but remember theres always the underground people...Oh Yeah Support your localz no matter what preference of music u like stay real music iz Univesal Peace

this has to be my all time favorite song. In the 80's when music started to take an upward turn...this was a song you could just lose yourself in! Beautiful.....it fits the feelings of girls turning into young women so perfectly
I don't know how many record stores I went into trying to find a vinyl, cassete or cd of this song. They just looked dumbfounded and sent me to this large, yellow directory book to see if it or the band was listed. No luck. Thank god for u tube and electronica as now

Hey, vinyl gonna be really hard, but CD version? You can find it in the Sire record series Just SAY No, -on Just Say Yesterday. But even though I have both the vinyl and the CD, I listen right here! Good stuff!

CLASSIC! And what an extended version! It builds and build upon itself! None of that techno 90's crap with dumps a vocal line over the exact same techno beat.
I never went to the Florentine Garden but on some nights it became Seven Seas that was in early 80's. What a memory. I also went to Oddessy at the corner of La Cienega and Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles at that time Billy Idol was going to have his first concert.
@EriqueBonito It was 1986...won free tickets to the B-Movie show in some small club in SF...Watched the 49er preseason game first...many beers...the show was disappointing at the time, they seemed unrefined. My first inkling of how a good producer can create a diamond from shit...but I still bought the earlier B-Movie CD's...they definitely have a certain charm.
@EriqueBonito I wouldn't really call this post punk. I grew up in 80's and the punk, british new wave, goth music, even heavy metal was all happenning at the same time. No youtube back then, so you had to be hardcore to know what what going on. It just depended on mtv, big labels making it mainstream. Real punk happenned in late 70's, but it was all underground. Keep on listening.
I love this song. Such an awesome sound. The synthesizer, voice and rhythm are awesome. Kinda creepy, but sooo cool. Makes you think it'd be used as background music in a early to mid-eighties horror movie. Great for a Halloween/80s party.
What I love about these old songs - Brit. new wave/synthpop/alternative from the 80s- whatever you want to call it, is not only were they groundbreaking and brilliant in their music, but in the depth and composition of their lyrics. The lyrics to this song are so poignant, and beautiful.
@RainPoetry Yep, Freddy Snakeskin, Dusty Street, even Rodney on the ROQ sneaking in the afternoon to chat a bit with the daytime DJs. Then KROQ went corporate in '89.
for everyone who's as disappointed in KROQ, or more appropriately modern rock, as I am, just check out KROQ 2. go to AOL HD Radio and look it up, its the Roq of the 80s format. iPhone/iTouch also has an AOL radio app, not sure if the other phone have that app too, but you can hear it there too. They play some awesome shit you wouldn't hear anywhere else
kroq got bought by clear channel in 94 or 95. CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO RUINS EVERYTHING. they have lame ass nu-metal(i.e. eMpTy-V shit-hop fuckcrap) formats in every town usa. they also take over any kick ass station they can.
basically they are a monopoly and the FuCC won;t do anything about it.
anyway the same shit happened to mtv. it got sold to CBS and some dumb zionist cultural marxist started playing a fuckload of shit-hop bullshit.
@real80smusic Yeah Bro I know what u mean...I'm 26 and its hard for me to like today's music but nothin compares to tha 80's live and die NEW WAVE!!!!
there's not much coming out in the way of new music that is very good but some socal punk bands and electro-wave bands are putting out decent things every once in a while. what we need is people with good taste(like you and I to start making music and forming bands). it's the only way anything will change. because I still see way to many god aweful new bands that were raised on shitty mid to late 90s music.
@real80smusic Testify Friend-O. I remember when M-TV first came out and I also remember Ramondo and The Blade( Richard Blade ) we're airing in the mornings on KROQ back in, hang on to your seat's, 79'. Yeah I'm old and a Cowboy now, but I still listen to my 80's ( the best ) music from time to time.

Yeah, this song reminds me of Richard Blade at Floriteen Gardens. This was a cool song!

Favorited. A classic among classics. Thank you. I also miss the old KROQ. What a world class, unique radio station it was.

Rodney Binginheim, Poorman??
zhivago10506 2 years ago
Yes them but I don't think Rodney would of played it, not punk enough. The dj I was thinking of was Freddy Snakeskin.
Look at where I go when I have a few beers! Didn't know I was here until you replied!

kroq got bought by clear channel in 94 or 95. CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO RUINS EVERYTHING. they have lame ass nu-metal(i.e. eMpTy-V shit-hop fuckcrap) formats in every town usa. they also take over any kick ass station they can.
basically they are a monopoly and the FuCC won;t do anything about it.
anyway the same shit happened to mtv. it got sold to CBS and some dumb zionist cultural marxist started playing a fuckload of shit-hop bullshit.
what needs to happen is more fm pirate radio

@real80smusic Yeah Bro I know what u mean...I'm 26 and its hard for me to like today's music but nothin compares to tha 80's live and die NEW WAVE!!!!
JClovestha80s 1 year ago 3
there's not much coming out in the way of new music that is very good but some socal punk bands and electro-wave bands are putting out decent things every once in a while. what we need is people with good taste(like you and I to start making music and forming bands). it's the only way anything will change. because I still see way to many god aweful new bands that were raised on shitty mid to late 90s music.
this guy has some decent stuff

@real80smusic Testify Friend-O. I remember when M-TV first came out and I also remember Ramondo and The Blade( Richard Blade ) we're airing in the mornings on KROQ back in, hang on to your seat's, 79'. Yeah I'm old and a Cowboy now, but I still listen to my 80's ( the best ) music from time to time.

they were good all the way up til 92 or so and they didn't roll with the times, so they suffered and were sold to CBS.

@real80smusic - I agree with this 100% - great music is still around though - it just isn't used to sell ads and pay huge paychecks....

@real80smusic That's why I stopped listening to KROQ.
