  • Same thing happened to me so i put a toggle at the lower left for ignition and a push starter button in the dash and its alot better i jus use my truck key to unlock it

  • Funny thing this happened to me years back and that's exactly the way I had to do it. Good to see somebody else discover it. Kudos

  • as you turn you key spin the steering wheel between the locks

  • Keys are made of brass or aluminium this is so they are SOFTER than the tumblers and wear INSTEAD of the tumblers. If your key is getting hard to turn got to a DEALER OR A LOCKSMITH, have them cut a key by code, do not duplicate your worn key unless you want two keys that are hard to use. Most of the time your new key cut by code will fix the problem. If your car is a newer model with pass or vats be prepared for you key to cost $30.00 to $150 dollars plus programming

  • It's not the tumblers. It's the key. FYI. Go to a locksmith, have them sight read your current key, and your new key will work perfectly. It's bit the ignition. Again, it's the key. Watch my video if you'd like. 06 silverado... Shows you. Still you have a good video. Thanks for posting.

  • @Lockman37 i bet he went to wallart

  • Just like a 88 body style jeep Cherokee, if the tumblers or the key wear out you can push downward on the key while twisting the ignition wings (the 2 extensions that help you tuen the key)

  • its cuz the key gets worn down and its not quite in there right. i bet if you got a new key made, you'd have no problems with it. but i broke my key off in my truck ignition one time :( it was horrible. didnt have the key in all the way and turned it and sure enough, just turned right off. so i could drive without my keys. that part was awesome. never was a problem if i left my keys somewhere cuz i could always start it up without em

  • @tombeals69 Actually My husband did that. We have been having issues with his truck. It's a 97' Nissan PickUp Truck... Standard Shifting-- He went to Walmart last night & his truck key wouldn't turn over. So he went back inside to buy a new key, but it didn't work... Tried tapping it with a screwdriver-- that didn't work... We're going to try this video. Maybe this will work out... I just don't want to spend a crap load of $ replacing the ignition switch. Ugh, Lord Help Us!!

  • my friend was telling me that he can leve the key in hes van and no body can steal it cause its so hard to turn on, he drives a oldsmobile

  • Find that jerking it? GM SUCK!!!!! Mercedes is the way!! :)

  • G.M. Garbage Motors.

  • The best solution is to never buy a GM. It's a pitty that even Korean cars are better than GM.

  • @zilog357 No not really. There car's are shit. I have my camaro with over 220000 miles and running like it is new. All Stock. Daily maintence and etc.

  • @josh666675 LMAOOO gm cars require daily maintence

  • I have a 2000 CHEVY and my ignition is stuck in the on position. I had to pull the battery wire and turn on the ac to shut it off. I was wandering if anybody knows what to do? Thanks

  • Try tapping your brake pedal

  • What you show here will work for some time, but you will definitely reach a point when the mechanic parts in the cylinder are too damaged!

Spray some (technical) petrolatum in and around the cylinder before you destroy it and it will work fine again for many years.

I had the exact same problem with my 92 Firebird and now you can turn the key smooth and easy again.

  • @mbbarng I have the same prob with my 86 firebird. What did you do to get it out?

  • I know the guy bellow me got an A in spelling ... Lol

  • ya right you dumb fuck megadipshit1973 gm are the best cars and trucks you can bye not ford or jap crap

  • i used to have a 97 grand am that used to do that i wish i would have known that when i had it. i totaled in july not that it had anything to do with the ignition though

  • I drive a 2006 mustang gt, and a 94 wrangler

  • I had that same problem for about 1.5 years and thought I need a new switch. It turns out that if I used my other original key I got with the vehicle it worked fine. I then made copies of my better key and never had a problem with it again. The key was worn enough, but wiggling it did work.

  • her e is a betyter ideal do not buy a stupid ford you mother fucker

  • @lemkelegion learn to type you stupid mother fucker.

  • wiggle the steeringwheel

  • im a locksimth.... if u keep on wiggling the key up n down ur jus messin up the tumblers inside the ignition lock

  • Also if this happens with some GM's, Ford's, and Toyota's you can try wiggling the steering wheel.

Some other makes are probably the same but I've only really had this problem with ones I mentioned above.

  • *breaking

    *your

  • so this is how my uncle starts the truck it 2 secs, and it takes me 2 minutes, cant wait till tommorow to try it out, youtube is awesome

  • wow you really made a video about that you have got to be in the 1st grade or something

  • what do i do if my key is stuck foward? i cant turn my car off w/o disconnecting the battary. my car is a 90 Firebird Formula. need help some1 please help me with this

  • @mbbarng Find out if you're shifted out of gear. If you have an automatic, you need to be in PARK, if you have a stick, you may need to engage your Ebrake. I've heard of security systems that do that crap. Also check your steering wheel. Maybe if you turn it to whichever side, you would unlock your key w/o the hassle of the battery. Give it a shot.

  • just pop the plastic ear off and push the side bar in and replace the lock

  • @wizzydsm im a locksimth.... if u keep on wiggling the key up n down ur jus messin up the tumblers inside the ignition lock it better to jus get it fixs i charge from 75 to 90 bucks n promise u that it wont mess up again

  • @gokartbuyer a cobalt over a mustang hahahaha. your just a fanboy that's about it

  • @gokartbuyer a cobalt over a mustang hahahaha. your just a fanboy that's about it, I bet you own a cobalt too yah?

  • @vaginacoastguard91 i have rented one. for one and a half weeks. sorry a ford nearly killed my mother. and even when i drove one just didn`t like it too much ford explorer grey. the belts came loose ,the hub bearings went ,the radio screen was fucked up (only bits of the screen showed most of the time ,on rare occasions did it work),the radio knob melted and fell off had to crazy glue it numerous times.had a 1996 chevy corsica ,really dependable.ran it out of oil and ran great after i got oil.

  • @MegaMichael1973 Ive got 4 GM's all V6's 98 and 99 model years and have combined miles of 600k and all run great. Just little issues like this... not a big deal. Besides, with my 3.1L and 3.8L V6 engines I average 30mpg on highway trips with a full car of luggage and 2 passengers. Not bad.

  • @MegaMichael1973 What do you drive?

  • @MegaMichael1973 fuck you

  • @MegaMichael1973 A GM car will kick the shit out of whatever the hell you drive

  • @MegaMichael1973 and a ford or dodge work so better

  • @MegaMichael1973 shut the fuck up

  • @MegaMichael1973 and thats coming from a ford driver? o.O

  • @MegaMichael1973 dont buy your face

  • @MegaMichael1973

    Maybe you should quit bitching.

Here, I'll give you the steps.

Step 1.) Remove dick from ass.

Step 2.) Repeat step 1 until dick is completely removed from ass.

Step 3.) Repeat steps 1 and 2 if you continue to bitch.

  • @deadmangoov3 he fliped it he didnt change key

  • Who doesn't have the natural tendency to jiggle the key anyway? And why even hint this as a repair? There is a problem: fix it!

  • am i the only one who seen him switch keys....LOL between .23 and .25 watch.....LOL how funny.....

  • He didn't switch keys, he flipped the key upside down--you can do that with double sided keys.
