Shows the danger of fighting fires in the pinelands. Fire is a natural and neccesary part of the Pinelands ecosystem and should not be interfered with. It is not neccesary to put these men in harm's way.
love how you guys just sit there while the forest burns down...arent you fire fighters not fire watchers no wonder why we lost most of our pine barrons once beautiful and filled with life now is burnt black and and life less.....but hey i do admire all the houses you save and lives of ppl you save
@LostWithInOurDreams We will risk a lot, to save a lot. We will risk little to save little. We are human too, and we want to go home to our families just as you or anyone else would. It was too much fire for them to put water on. The job of a forest firefighter is to take away fuel from the fire, not shoot water on it.
@LostWithInOurDreams This statement makes no sense: "we lost most of our pine barrons once beautiful and filled with life now is burnt black and and life less". I'm in those woods every few weeks, and I can assure you that they are not burnt black and lifeless. Fires are a normal occurrence in the pinelands, and the firefighters you see in these videos, most or all of them, come from families that have lived in the woods for decades or longer. They know what they're doing.
it was almost a decade ago a brush fire had burned too close to my home and I had never seen fire getting so intense so quickly in a decade. the fire had burned intensly and quickly but fortunately it did not got too close.
Wow i just happened to stumble across this video and now over a year i still can't believe it happened. It was pretty intense, im from ocean acres by the wawa, and the smell in the air was one i dont think ill ever forget. We were evacuated and I remember taking pictures of the house just in case it burnt down...thank you for everything you guys did!
You guys deserve all the respect and dedication that can be given, I am a resident of ocean acres, those couple of days were some of the most un nerving of my life. but thanks to the awesome volenteers and the NJ forest fire service, we all made it out none the worse for the wwear, save a whole bunch of ash falling in manahawkin. thanks again guys!!!!!!!!!!
It is fire season right now here in cali. I cant wait, even though shit like that is scary, it is my life to fight fire. If you are smart and use good judgement, then all will be good even though you can never underestimate the behavior of a fire!!
I was there for 14 hours what a day and what a night..........When it all started it didnt seem like much and i belong to the third agency that was dispatched. When i got there it didnt look like much when i left 14 hours later it was a whole lot...........
My dad was in this video, and I was working in one of the fire towers south of the fire, and let me just say it was a monster. There was a truck that was caught up in the middle of that. That day was the perfect day for a fire.
WOW! ive seen how fast these fires spread in my own town, and i thank God for our firefighters, whether they saved my aunts house, or some complete stranger in some other county, they are heroes.
My name is Ric I'm 1220 Pinewood Estates. That was my third major. I'd like to say that'll be the last but it won't. Thanks to all of the surrounding companies that responded and a huge thanks to the businesses and public for their support!!!!!
crowning should be an automatic 4 more alarms
