@keithbu I couldn't play the 2nd Star theme without the motor. If I tried to pause the game, the sound would cut off.

I love this theme so much especially the alternative one. The three ways the alternative theme plays when CPU uses it or when it 3-4 human players playing as always mention. Another way to hear alternative theme is in 2-players GP mode. Where 1 human player finish the race, the other human player that didn't finish the race now have the alternative theme.

I always like racing with 1p and finish the race then switch to 2p and race just to hear the theme plays as a human player in GP mode.

omigosh, in all my mario kart years i've never noticed that!! i don't play with others normally cuz nobody wants to play against me so that's prolly why. i guess since the main theme is the same the changed beat went unnoticed. thanks for pointing this out!

As well as the percussion being different, it seems the alternate version's tempo is a bit slower.

its the exact same thing. the "alternate" version just has higher drum sound and more bass than the normal one. thats probably why no one probably bothered to post this

I didn't say it was different as far as the song. Yes the song is the same. It just has a different variation to it. Well I guess I'm the first, because I like the alternate theme more than the original.

yea. its just one of the other slighty "unoticed" differences in the game. like how only Bowsers kart is the only one with different exuast pipes as they are bigger while all the others are the same, and Toads kart is the only one that doesn't make the "crackling" noise when you slow down and stop.
