most people argue that grandmaster flash's the message is a better song than this because it brings rap and poetry to the gehtto but i disagree because planet rock brought that same feeling of poetry to the gehtto and has an all around better melody than the message. It was also released the same year as the message this is a better song then the message

there is kraftwerk sampling and many hip hop songs use sampling. the lyrics are completely original. kraftwerk did not even come close to creating hiphop.

Not really. Afrika Bambaataa used Trans-Europe Express for samples. Or whatever it was called, it was a Kraftwerk Album. On their turn, Kraftwerk covered Planet Rock.

And that's not hiphop, it's electro.

Yeah Trans Europe Express, it is electro music, except it has Soul Soinc Force rappin over it so it really is hip hop...Kraftwerk were big influences on both genres, they both grew from the same tree anyway
