  • one heartbeat didnt beat like mine did. it was too cold.

  • If i were Justen Beiber and found out about every body bashing me on youtube i woudlnt put up with it kus its herrassment i would have a private investagator ransack the screen names kus it is herrasment not really gossip and findem and arest them lol think of how much money he'd make doing that if he fined them LOL. just think about it though. justa though.lol

  • The studio version was great. Hate to admit it. LOL

  • this is still better than the new Justin Beiber Shit

  • I have loved this song for 30+ years. Its still good.

  • Great song but 1:29-1:33 is awful out of range singing

  • This song is awesome. Even the actors in the 80's made better music then today's shit pile of fuck.

  • Well its not that bad as the music we have in 2000s but this is pretty crappy.

  • A woman once sued Don Johnson for:

Squeezing her wrist to bruising point

    Lewdly propositioning her

    while singing "Heartbeat"

The jury's decision was unanimous: singing this song means the death penalty.

  • @strangelycutlemon For it's era, a catchy song. Were both Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas full of themselves? Yeah.

For myself, I like both tunes.

  • They said this was one of the worst videos ever made!

  • long live the 80s for 80s are for ever for 80s the only way to live no 80s no life 80s rock this tune is the shit the bomb its not old school its my school and school back jack

  • Look in Websters Dictionary under cool there is a picture Don Johnson!! Rock on Miami Vice

  • Don johnson... Pure Style, Awesome acting and singing , Miami Vice = Best Show Ever. :)

  • Our generation's Rebecca Black. :-\

why yes i did like and add to favorites

  • This sounds like one of those generic songs played over the credits on a typical 80s action movie. Sounds very throw-away... As if he went to a a major songwriter, bought one of their boilerplate standards and then hired a bunch f session musicians, trusting in his celebrity profile to make it a hit.

  • @ozoneocean in a nutshell

  • Classic cheap music from 80s. Must download it.

  • nice unibrow.

  • Oh wow the 80s. Miss it so much.

  • stevie ray vaughn played guitar on this turd.

  • DJ is da man!

  • Don Johnson for Expendables 3 please!

  • Great video and song by Don Johnson.

  • Heeeeeeeeeeeeartbeat, I'm looking for a heeeeeeeeeeartbeat. Too tight.

  • ohhhh i get it now. sonny was working a bunch of coke dealers using a recording studio as a front. he went in undercover as a singer to bust em. lol.

  • Wow, he can really hit those high notes with power. I'm surprised. He doesn't have a lot of feeling in his voice but had he been a full time singer he coulda been great. Dweezils guitar playing is technically okay but completely lacks tone. It sounds like he's playing thru a solid state amp. The electronic drums lack feeling and way too much verb. Catchy song that could have been great.

  • @maripocita37 ...i was just think that....Dweezils tone is like solid state meets, restroom acoustics meets tin meets reverb

    ....

  • @secondseed00 haha That's so accurate it's hilarious.

  • @maripocita37 : I totally agree with you dude, this song is half a good song, but what kills it is the Tinny and Low Budget Production, I've heard a lot of great 80s songs with synth drums that are actually good because of solid and crisp Production but this is a song with a lot of potential that was unfortunatley given Mediocre Production.

  • @CRITTERBUSTERS @asiaball I'm glad you said that. It sounds like something recorded in a home studio when it could have been great. Those drums kill it for me. Don Johnson sounds like he can actually sing and I like the melody. He needs an Sm7b and fiberglass reflectors to give his very good singing voice definition. I hate the guitar sound so much yet Dweezil evolved into an excellent guitarist. See Zappa does Zappa. Here it sounded like they verbed everything.

  • 12-15-2011. He's not blue. He's just 62. Happy Birthday, Don. Miami Vice will always be one of my all-time favorite shows. And this song kicks ass.

  • in the 80s, if you were on tv, you had to have a music vid. don johnson, philip michael thomas, eddie murphy, bruce willis, patrick swayze....etc. seems silly nw, but back then, the m in mtv stood for music, and it was all the rage still.

  • I loved this tape , he's still hot even old and chubby .

  • This sounds like a perfect montage song...if I were training for anything, I would listen to this song on repeat.

  • OMG where's my ear plugs:D..he might have had the sexy 5pm stubble look back in the day but he sure could'nt sing for toffee...well i guess you cant have it all i suppose :)

  • Heartbeat, I'm looking for a muthafuckin heartbeat nigga!!!!!!

  • exelente grandes recuerdos

  • this song is not that bad... how can this join the ranks of rebecca black and justin bieber?

  • 182 people got busted by Sonny Crockett in Miami.

  • where's Reed Rothchild?

  • awesome don is still my idol

  • i remember this song i was 15 i had the biggest crush on Don Johnson but then again i think a lot of teenage girls had a crush on Don Johnson

  • Zajebisty numer ,Don swietny aktor szczegolnie w Miami Vice, zawsze bede pamietal...

  • Don Johnson! My favorite Kansas Jayhawk alum!

  • Ha! I love it!..."Miami Vice's-Crockett" @ his "Very Best!" :)

  • Be sure to watch Bruce Willis - Respect yourself. Also!

  • Eddie Murphy's Party All the Time is true Grammy material by comparison...

  • @wnyvideo *clap*clap*

  • He should have called Tubbs for back up... vocals....

  • When life gets me down and I feel like im at my lowest point I just play this song and am thankful I never created this

  • It's Dweezil Zappa!

  • I think Don did GREAT,great song, great actor, great singer

  • me encanta este tema saludos desde argentina

  • Peee-yeeeew!

  • the guy in the white jacket on guitar......

    Dweezil Zappa?

  • @1Ban2TheKnot Yes it's Dweezil..... Watch the Lets Talk About It video he has that same lime green Charvel

  • How can Sonny Crockett produce such a gem while tracking down scum like Calderon? And where the hell is Tubbs?

  • @brucefan1027 Don Johnson did'nt write this song,it was written by Wendy Waldman

And it appeared on her self titled debut album.Granted she made more money with this cover

  • @brucefan1027 ..lllooooolll :-) funny ... ode to miami vice..

  • @brucefan1027 tubbs was the one who mixed the tracks and was behind the soundboard. this is a bad ass song ! gonna make it my ringtone tone lol

  • @brucefan1027 It's called protective custody Son ,.. I'll explain it to you some time"- Fonky Honky.

  • @brucefan1027 Bruce sucks...but Good question on Tubbs

  • @brucefan1027 I don't think gem is the right word but this is very entertaining all the same!

  • Only reason Don gets the high notes is cause some one kicked him in his gonads!

  • @Norman7sev lol too funny,I am now wondering how many got this. Thanks for the laugh.

  • Thanks Jerry for sending this to me. 80's were awesome!...Good times

  • He was on East bound n down .

  • Great song. I love Don Johnson.

  • Comment removed

  • better than phillip michael thomas...

  • SONNY CROCKETT!!!!

  • Elpresador sent me here to find out who Don Johnson was.....cant believe I didnt recognise the song

  • Don Johnson! :-)

  • I love 80's but this awful

  • @1Heretic Back when it came out it was so bad you had to laugh. Yet another actor buried under tinny studio effects was trying to sing for some side cash, while Dweezil Zappa was trying to imitate Richie Sambora.

  • @Blues353 That was a chart topper son! And If your Dad is Frank Zappa,.. you're not trying to imitate anyone.

  • @1Heretic true but it's better than the shit they put out today.

  • 170 people don't have a heart beat :(

  • eso era musica , no el f... hip hop para retardados

  • Come on man wtf?? Don ruled this song lol

  • Not too good as a singer, stay actor !!

  • It's amazing how people are intolerant.

There are people who wishes to post comments only for verbally abusing the other did not even know.

  • @LiaJFMG OK

  • He may not be much of an actor, but he's certainly no singer...........

    Where's Tubbs?

  • @trappedinlafayette you're an idiot. Maybe that word might be too good for you. Have you ever seen Miami Vice or his TV movies? That man was one of the more talented actors in the business back in the 1980s (still is in my opinion). He owned that role he played on Miami Vice and this song. You are entitled to your own opinion like every other sucka on this planet.

  • @EddieMurphyish Talented actor? Please..............

  • @trappedinlafayette When he has a good role he is a very good actor. He was excellant in "Cease Fire" and also very good in "Guilty as Sin".

  • "my racist heart will heal"

  • I shall play this while I'm getting owned by heartbeat sensor noobs

  • @ZVR12 gayest kid ever

  • A FUCKING DON JOHNSON SENSOR WHAT THE FUCK!

  • @stevewhu gayest kid ever

  • @ThatHDGuy yeah you are wow.

  • elpresador sent me DON JOHNSON SENSOR

  • i can't not say this, so i am sorry in advance to insult someones mom, but, considering this album was NAMED heartbeat, and both the album and many songs from the album were at the top of the charts for a VERY long time in the eighties......your mom has to be a little fluffy upstairs or english is her second language.

  • @Bunnycatlikes It's amazing you can be be "sorry" to insult my mom yet feel it nessesary anyway.I made an innocent comment about what she thought she heard and you don't even KNOW her. P.S. This song and album were NOT at the top of the charts at all so you've just proved that not only are you a jerk but you remember things that didn't even happen. In other words, get bent..

  • @Bunnycatlikes THANK YOU!!! It means alot to me you can admit when you've messed up and I accept your apology completely!!! Thank you for the kind words and I take back that you're a jerk because a jerk would never apologize as eloquently as you have...Sincerely Anthony

  • this was and still is a great album, a rare " play every song" album !!!

  • It's the Night Rocker!!!!!

  • Oh, no. . . is it the 1980s again?! Actually, not all of it was crap. But some of it was.

  • Omg!! This is hilarious!! Why did he do this??My mom used to think he was singing "I'm looking for a hobby"!! Actually that would have made more sense...

  • @Anthony420542 Thanks so much, man... I'm crying here, I'm laughing so hard. I'll never hear it as anything but "I'm lookin' for a hobby" for the rest of my life. LOL. That's awesome.

  • @melboney You're very welcome...But the real thanks goes to mom,she certainly knew a lousy song when she heard one..lol

  • @Anthony420542 I always thought it sounded like "I'm looking for Harvey"

  • @Nineteen80s29 That's actually pretty funny!!Yet it makes me wonder who Harvey could be...his workout trainer perhaps??

  • dweezil lol

  • 2:23 i love this moment ;) the best part of the song for me

  • QUE GRAN CANCION ME HACE RECORDAR MI AÑOS MOZOS

  • This song is too awesome. Whenever it's on my ipod touch I pretend i'm in the 80s and sway a little cool walk.

  • My wife hates this song, I myself do not, I have a guitar the same colour as Dwezi

ll Zappa's... Time for a comeback in a big way, Don and Dwezill, both of ya...

  • Send me back to the 80's and let me live them over and over till I die.

  • @djeec1976 Are you sure you would like to live without internet?

  • HHEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRTBEEEEEEEEEEATT, FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is where he goes to Mexico and throws kids around

  • thats Dweezil Zappa on lead guitar .

  • this guy sings better than most pop artists today

  • Don John has always been my heartbeat - love this song

  • got to love the chord changes......

  • oh Dweezil... what the ___ were you doing?? lol

  • @Fluffyfluffyhead It's a great song in many ways, but Dweezil is one of the best things about it.

  • @palermo131 Many ways? please enlighten me...

  • @Fluffyfluffyhead The beat is tight. This band is new with each other, but they sound like they are gelling quite well. No single talent is over-featured here. Don's voice is pretty good. The bass player is playing a good bass line. Overall, the track accomplishes what a good pop song is supposed to: bring elements that are easily accessed and make one want to hear the track repeatedly. Good pop songs have simple, catchy melodies and beats. I like the large drum sound of the mid-eighties.

  • The track is overproduced, and a little cold, but that was the sound of the era. I'd love to hear the track remixed to bring more warmth and sonic realism. I love progressive metal, so this song is no comparison to the performances you hear on those type of records (except for Dweezil), so I don't compare songs like that. This is a tasty piece of candy churned out by corporatists to make a buck. Simple market economics tell us that if u fail to give the consumer a agreeable experience, u fail.

  • The songs punchy, hard rhythm with a strong emphasis on the beat, coupled with hard rock textures is what most appeal to me. Don's voice is great, but I'm left feeling it doesn't fit into the soundscape created by the musicians/engineers/producers perfectly. The only problem is that Don is crooning too much. He needs more grunt, scream, howl and vocal "attitude" to unhinge things a little bit. In the vid he kinda almost has the necessary swag, but he can't seem to quite get it.

  • If you want to hear how rock is supposed to be sung, find Halestorm's "I get off" right here on YouTube.

  • I don't understand why people say they don't like this song. I think Don Johnson has a good voice.

  • chunk that kid 2:35 ..... awesome

  • ...hi all Youtubers..! this will make a great morning anthem , don't u think?...lol

  • love this track, Don Johnson should've kept his music up, really ace I Still listen to this in my car :-)

  • @paulanthonyofficial Please tell me it's a Fiero or some other '80s icon :P

  • @Doombot85

Born this way is a song we´ve heard many times before, nothing new in it.

  • @johan861 Yeah it's called "Express Yourself.

  • @gale31

Also listen to all madonna songs and there you go.

  • @johan861 speaking of actors doing music videos, you should check out another music video with the actress who played Dana Scully in The X-Files ( Gillian Anderson) shes actually not bad

  • He can act but not sing. I didn't even realize he had a song.

  • A-Team meets Friday Night Videos..LOL How i MISS the 80's/..The only thing funnier is Eddie Murphy's"Party all the time"

  • 80s were a time of a freedom of expressions. So many different styles of rock & other genres came out. It was about experimenting & having fun

  • Back In those days, men were men & each to his own style. Each had his own style. oh and the women were women too. It was about fun, style, experiment, freedom of expression. 80s were a great time of freedom & power of voice!!!

  • As far as I'm concerned, Don Johnson was the 80s!

  • If this song was any crappier, you'd need a HAZMAT suit to listen to it!!!

  • Don Johnson, what a man. I didn't even know he sang. I only knew him from Miami Vice but now I think he's gonna be one of the people I'll follow up on now ^^

  • I wish I could live in 80s :D

  • Don hit #5 in Billboard, 10-18-86. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
