  • @stratocaster539 Thanks

  • I cannot believe all of you fighting.

  • @Gevalle808 Fighting is such a strong word, I prefer "heated discussion" LOL

  • Anyway - back too the real stuff. Will you be posting any more vids for us to enjoy?

  • I much prefer the look of the Daleks on IE 2150 AD to the new FATTIES despite being bright colours they do carry a sense of menace.

Its a great pity that they didn't make the 3rd Dalek movie nor the TV series based upon the Daleks alone.

Several people on U Tube have made short movies which are good, some really good.

Perhaps we can hope for the 3rd movie sometime in the future - it all depends on how much money the producers think they can make.

    Thank you for posting!

  • @mikeismad61 Amen to that

  • I tried to be nice, but if this is the kind of game you want to play, then I will gladly join you,

  • @WowbaggerGriffin Sorry, but when some people just won't listen for a minute and making such accusations as "you are not a TRUE FAN", they should only be mocked.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin This debate is getting very heated and personal now I don't want to use the block user button but I will if the two of you don't calm down. I have sent this message to both you and I don't want a separate debate over who started this or who insulted who I just need the tone calmed down. So I politely ask you both, If you want to insult each other please do it on your own pages.

  • OK

    Sorry that YOUR unhappy

I won't comment on this subject again

  • Just caught up with some of the new and nasty comments posted by YOU KNOW WHO - just pleased that I'm above such things, I won't be posting any more comments that might be seen as being negative.

  • Comment removed

  • My comments were intended to reflect MY distaste for the new FATTIES design and how they have mucked about with a CLASSIC design, everyone is welcome to their own thoughts - I just think the new FATTIES are a marketing exercise GONE WRONG I think the producers were only considering HOW MUCH MORE MONEY CAN WE MAKE and it has nothing to do with real Dr Who fans. What next Daleks in WW2 with Churchill perhaps with a green Dalek - sorry already done that ! ITS ALL ABOUT THE CASH - NOT THE FANS!

  • @mikeismad61 There's still tons of other, better places to express your opinion about it. Talking about it here is a little vain in the long run.

Also, they specifically said that the new design was never meant to be a marketin thing and Steven Moffat himself has expressed dislike of unnecesarry merchandising. That's all I have to say about the matter.

  • 'new design was never meant to be a marketin thing and Steven Moffat himself has expressed dislike of unnecessary merchandising'

    YOUR KIDDING ME!

Do you think that Fans kept calling them asking for an update, a new design that would outdate all that have gone before ?

That it don't take considerable resources in designing the new FATTIES ?

That they didn't even consider how many more new FATTIES they could sell?

This is like saying the new Star Wars movies were done just for fun.....

  • @mikeismad61 I'm not seeing your point at all. By your logic, every redesign for every single thing in Doctor Who is all driven by marketing reasons, which is completely and utterly untrue. Plus your arguement is based on pure assumption, whereas I actually did look up the facts and confirmed it.

Also, fans should never ever be allowed to have the authority to command what happens in the series.

Oh, and reusing the word "FATTIES" several times is not a good way to want people take you seriously.

  • Comment removed

  • @mikeismad61 Since you've already erased your own rant filled and overemotional comment yourself, I have nothing to add anymore.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin Well I do have something to add I totally disagree with you that the fans cant criticise the show if they don't agree with something. I personally hate the Moffat Daleks as well. They don't look threatening any more compared to the redesigned version in "Dalek" As for your arguement that it wasn't for cash reasons well why else would they do it cos the story certainly didn't justify it and why else would they be in different colours its cos you have to collect them all.

  • @cbatt91337 "Fans cant criticise the show if they don't agree with something"

I never said that. I said there's a time and place to complain about something and that fans should never be the ones who can command every peck and call.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin What is wrong with having an opinion on my channel? Doctor who is already run by the fans and has been since it came back as RTD and Moffat were both fans before they took on the show as were most of the writers and Phil Collinson. All I'm saying is there was no need to change the Daleks so drasticly and that a huge majority of fans LOATHE the New Daleks would prefer the old design.

  • @cbatt91337 "What is wrong with having an opinion on my channel?"

What is wrong with having an opinion on your channel that actually has something to do with it? Oh but if you insist, I'll throw you some opinions alright. We are doing this man, we are making this happen.

  • @cbatt91337 "As for your arguement that it wasn't for cash reasons well why else would they do it cos the story certainly didn't justify it and why else would they be in different colours its cos you have to collect them all. "

This argument still doesn't work since they already explicitly stated their reasons not having to do with money, plus they said that the colours are meant to be a tribute to this very film series. You are letting your overtly cynical views blind you.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin No my friend you are letting yourself be blinded by the properganda. Have you not noticed the amount of new Dalek toys and memorabilia in all the shops? The whole thing is blatantly to do with money and the design is horrendous.

  • Comment removed

  • @cbatt91337 Of course, because BBC has obviously not made toys out of anything else in the show.

Hey, if we are now starting to complain about that, why not call every villain redesign as a blantant way to make money? Why not also call every actor switch in Doctor Who as an obvious ploy to make money?

Why not? Since now we've already hit the rock bottom.

  • Nice to see that another REAL DRW fan agrees with me - the new FATTIE design makes the Daleks look silly - its so clearly about SELLING MORE STUFF I simply can't believe that anyone thinks it was done for another reason that that. This began when I stated that I preferred the MOVIE Daleks to the new FATTIE design. Daleks are meant to be big time bad ass -IE no primary colour paint jobs and not being overweight!

If the producers continue to change things ONLY for money what future for DRW?

  • @mikeismad61 First, you do realize that "REAL DRW fan" sounds phenominaly retarded and makes you sound like a pathetic, sniveling fanboy who hates when somebody dares to disagree with their oh-so superior opinion?

"This began when I stated that I preferred the MOVIE Daleks to the new FATTIE design. "

Yes, you ranted about the new Dalek design completely out of the blue for no reason other than because you just have to voice your SUPERIOR AND CONCRETE TRUTH of an opinion. That is just idiotic.

  • @mikeismad61 "If the producers continue to change things ONLY for money what future for DRW?"

You know what I just read there? Yet another butthurt fan crying to the sky about how EVERYTHING IS RUINED FOREVER and how their favouritest favourite show is now a SELL-OUT. Just go join in that line over there, I'm sure you will find it plenty comfortable to meet your own kind there.

  • Fair enough, I suspect that having checked the 'facts' as you call them you now agree with me and the MANY other DW fans who detest the new Dalek design as crass and stupid.

  • @mikeismad61 ... Now that just sounded really idiotic and I don't even in the least bit understand what you are saying anymore at all.

  • OK.

I think I've made my point

Now go into a quiet room and relax

Why not leave DW too the true fans ?

And to think this all started because I said I didn't like the new Dalek design

  • @mikeismad61 "Why not leave DW too the true fans?"

If this is is what "ture fans" are like, I'd rather do so. It's another thing listening to one person's irrational ranting, but a whole bunch doing so would kill anyone with sanity.

  • Think you said you'd be leaving this topic alone now that I've made my point

    Anyway - see ya

  • Your back again!

Please leave this topic its making you feel bad

  • @mikeismad61 ... Actually wait, why should I leave now. You are only now starting to reveal how much of a sobbing fanboy you are. You know what, scratch that, I want to see how much you can cry about this.

  • @mikeismad61 Making me feel bad? Wow, nice diagnosis there doctor. How about I lie on that nice easy chair there and while I talk about my deepest and darkest secrets? Surely you can help me on my problems with your such masterful skills of psychology.

  • @mikeismad61 This debate is getting very heated and personal now I don't want to use the block user button but I will if the two of you don't calm down. I have sent this message to both you and I don't want a separate debate over who started this or who insulted who I just need the tone calmed down. So I politely ask you both, If you want to insult each other please do it on your own pages.

  • I removed my own comment not U Tube, not anyone else as I was in danger of making this personal. I am a lifelong DW fan (BOTH old & new) but feel that the current producers have overstepped the mark with their new FATTIE Dalek design, this has clearly angered some who fail to see it was ONLY done so that BBC (etc) could SELL a whole lot more new FATTIE Dalek I fear for the long term future for DW like never before if ONLY MONEY is their purpose in producing DW...

  • @mikeismad61 ... And this has to be stated here why again? This ranting is starting to get ridiculous. In fact, this whole discussion is becoming more and more ridiculous.

I'll just leave you and your soapbox alone. There is absolutely no point of me doing this anymore.

  • Have nothing against redesigns - I liked the mild redesign of the Daleks that took place when DRW returned and it helped cement in place for another generation, but I can see no excuse for the remodelling of the Daleks into a new FATTIE wedge shape and by making them primary colours - I want MY Daleks to look bad ass - I am sure you'll disagree as you have 'FACTS'. You'll simply never see that you've been HAD and it is about making MORE money and has ZERO to do with anything else.

  • Nice trailer for an epic movie!

  • @StickMarsChannel Thankyou

  • Better than the 1st movie, not as good as the series. Your trailer is better than both movies!

  • I think the plan is that once we fans have purchased all the new FATTIES in all their new colours, they'll introduce a new range with different coloured spots - red on white, blue on yellow etc and can state that this shows that the Daleks are evolving and can now multi-task! Let’s hope someone can exterminate the new FATTIES before they can begin their new evil masterplan!

  • @mikeismad61 Jesus Christ, you would have expected people to have actually stopped complaining about the new Daleks by now, but nooooo. Whovians are never satisfied with anything, so now they have to express their hate everywhere, everytime, regardless of how it has nothing to do with the video whatsoever.

Seriously people, stop being so butthurt and fill the comment section with nothing but immature hatred. It's both stupid and ruins other people's enjoyment of the actual video.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin Lets get one thing absolutely clear here, this is my Video, my channel and my rules and if someone wants to express an opinion whether it be positive or negative about Doctor Who (as long as its not abusive or personally offensive about another user) then they ARE entitled to do so. I happen to hate these so called "Fan sites" that don't allow others to have an opinion unless it conforms to the "everything is great with who" shite. Sometimes they get it wrong, get over it.

  • @cbatt91337 I know and I respect what you are doing. It's just that when every video you watch have to have some complaints that don't even have much to do with the video itself, it gets really obnoxious.

Put it in perspective, it would be like if every video of the new Daleks had comments flowing with how much the people hate the old designs, regardless of how it has nothing to do with the actual videos aside from them having Daleks in it.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin Basically, if someone wants to complain, they should do it in somewhere where it actually isn't off-topic.

  • @WowbaggerGriffin If Mikeismad61 was complaining about the new Cybermen design then you might have a point but this is a Dalek vid and he is simply appreciating the old movie Dalek design and saying how he prefers it to the new. This is not off topic in anyway shape or form and whether I or you agree or disagree with it, its his opinion and on this channel he is allowed to express it. I would never tell or censor someone for expressing an opinion about the show.

  • @cbatt91337 To me it stll comes off as offtopic, since this video really has nothing to do with which design is better and expressing it here just seems forced and excessive.

  • I could not agree more with your comments: 'the new Daleks design is just appalling and undefendable', sadly I feel its all about simply selling more products and a feeling that having made Dr Who successful again the 'new kids on the block' can do no wrong. WRONG! I am a Dr Who fan and enjoy BOTH classic and new - I just feel that the new Dalek design is a MASSIVE step in the wrong direction. I wonder if anyone at the BBC ever reads fan comments posted on U Tube etc.

    Guess not......

  • @mikeismad61 Well there does seem to be a massive fan backlash against the new big arsed Dalek designs. so hopefully now that two of the producers are gone things can be changed back. I don't know make it a bad dream or something maybe put one of the old Daleks in the Doctors shower like in Dallas!

  • I much prefer the look of the Daleks on IE 2150 AD to the new FATTIES due to appear on either the end story of the current series or perhaps as part of the Christmas Special 2011 (?)

Talk about things being CANNON - the BBC has SCREWED up an all time CLASSIC design - and all in the bid to sell more toys/models. Have you got all the colours yet?

I can just hear the tills ringing ......

  • @mikeismad61 Have I just thumbs up that again? I don't mind the new series, (I know a lot of classic fans hate it but i'm a fan of both) but the new Daleks design is just appalling and undefendable.

  • I love this film - CANNON or not - its simply great fun

So remember its fun (and its only a film)

  • @mikeismad61 I'd like you to know I've just given that a thumbs up (something I've never been bothered to do before) I'm so fed up with the cannon or not cannon debate for gods sake people I don't care like the man said its only a film just enjoy it. Thanks for your comment mate.

  • These films had NOTHING to do with the continuity of the actual series. They are not even considered canon in the TV series continuity.

Sort of like "Star Trek XI" was in the "Star Trek" continuity.

    Total BULLSHIT!

  • @Actionguy1 So what? Just because they are not "canon" doesn't mean you cant enjoy them for the fun 60's run around that they are.

  • @cbatt91337 Didn't say you couldn't enjoy them, just said they were bullshit as far as the series continuity is cocerned.

  • Peter Cushing was in several Doctor Who movies and were good but I like the series better.

  • @korg13 Cushing only played Doctor Who (his actual name in the films) in two movies

  • good job editing~!

  • @revillusi0nz Thank-you very much.

  • This looks hideously cheesy and yet...I'm strangely drawn to put it in my NetFlix queue.

  • @pac12345678 You'll love it as long as you turn your brain off. Thinking just a little bit can stop your enjoyment of the film.

  • This film and Battle LA could be link together maybe.

Maybe the daleks were behind it but they were using another alien force as a decoy.

  • @badwolf66 That would be impossible. This is set over 1,000 years after Battle LA. Plus, Battle LA and Dr Who are two completly different universes. I'm sure the Doctor would have heard about aliens killing off half of the earth's population.

  • @catus95 I thought Battle LA was set in modern day? if so it's only 139 years.

  • @cbatt91337 I meant the invasion of the Daleks is set over 1,000 years from now, thats why it says 2150 AD, because thats the year of the invasion. And another point, Daleks don't form alliances with other species, especially humanoids. They hate everything that isn't Dalek, even if the aliens in Battle LA had the same objective, the Daleks would destroy them out of threat of competition. And the point still stands that nearly half of our population was killed, so the Doctor would know by know.

  • @catus95 I meant that 2150 AD IS only 139 Years in the future (Not thousands) we are living in 2011. The year that the Doctor lands in is 2150 AD he says it to Ian in the Tardis, its in the official trailer as well as the title.

  • @cbatt91337 Meh, it's still impossible.

  • @catus95 LOL

  • @cbatt91337 Yes, yes indeed

  • were can u get this movie because i love the daleks

    XD

  • Wilfred Mott!

  • Whooo Hoooo over 20,000 views (That's big for me)

  • "Attention all Robomen, attack the Daleks! This order cannot be countermanded! Attack the Daleks!"

If that line isn't funny to you, watch the movie to see why it's hilarious.

  • Great stuff! I was already a fan of the show when I first saw this film... but it still became one of my favorites! I think the Daleks were cooler when they were easier to kill. (With trucks, or even just body-waves!) The lastest incarnations are all but invincible! Like the capitol ships in War of the Worlds. So it takes out some of the 'pitched' nature of the confict!

  • This is the movie that go me into Doctor Who! I was a kid... Saturday matinee 1pm... and this movie came on TV! My Favorite!. Then WTTW Chicago put on...John Pertree...and some of the Doctor Who episodes. I KNOW THIS! Instant Fan! Who could not love the idea of destroying the "Magnetic Core" Of the Earth? I was hooked!!

  • @Sparrowhawk1161 Thanks for the comment glad it brought back memories If you like Who (old and new) there is plenty more to see on the channel, trailers reconstructions and alternate title sequences.

  • The Daleks in this actually look better and more menacing than the new 'Duplo Daleks', as I call them.

  • @randomdave30 I call them shite. (sorry for the crassness of that answer but they make my blood boil and I tend to go on a rant about them.)

  • @randomdave30 The Dalek design introduced in 2005 was brilliant - a lethal piece of hi-tech sci-fi hardware. I hope the unpopular new design has its day very quickly indeed.

  • @randomdave30 I agree whole heartedly. According to rumour so does Moffat and he will be getting rid of them next series.....allegedly!

  • Here, what is the essential, defining difference between The Daleks Invasion of Earth and Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 AD?

    Posters.

IT IS FORBIDDEN TO DUMP BODIES INTO THE RIVER

    vs

    Sugar Puffs.

  • @randomdave30 LOL I spent the entire film waiting for the sugerpuffs monster to turn up and say "Gimmie the honey, mummy!"

  • @randomdave30 dude we all know that dumping bodies into rivers just means the corperate exseutives can fish them out and feed them to us in the form of sugar puffs so inturn they just mean the same thing LOLOLOL

  • i dont think it had a trailer at all

  • @360bloodshreder99 All the captions are from the original trailer if you look on the suggestions on this page you will find it

  • Brilliant - even though i've seen the film many times, this made me want to watch it again, so I guess it works both as a trailer and a labour of love! btw, the new tv daleks are rubbish - what were they thinking?

  • @pcarr1960 Thanks very much glad it made you dust down the old DVD. As for the new Daleks I absolutely hate them with a passion they look like an artist attempting to draw Daleks from memory and getting it horrendously wrong.

I mean what are they thinking with giving them big arses?

  • Why is it that when someone gets hit in the stomach with something sharp and pointy, they always fall like that?

  • @tf2whackyengineer i no they jump forwards in to a flip

  • @rockindude30 There was another movie. I can't remember if it was Diabolik or Agent Double 007. It was some movie MST3k covered, and a few of the badguy's henchmen were hit in the stomach with harpoons and did the same forward flip.

  • Patrick Troughton said in an interview once that he would not mind doing a cinematic overhaul of Evil of the Daleks - although, of course, it's a bit late now - as indeed is he. There have been screenplays and proposals for scores of Dr Who movies over the years - and it's only a matter of time before the time lord hits the big screen again.

  • @randomdave30 With all those huge viewing figures there getting for the New series and the fact that theve got Wii games coming out for christmas, I would say its inevitable.

I would have loved to have seen a big screen version of Evil with Pat in it but alas it will never happen.

  • @cbatt91337 It's a shame that of the 'classic' Doctors, the only ones that are generally remembered are Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. Patrick Troughton of course is very much handicapped by the fact that so many of his episodes are lost, leaving only a handful of complete serials and a few odd individual episodes.

  • Yay! Terminator 2 Music.

  • @PinstripeShirt I love the music and it goes perfectly with Daleks

  • @cbatt91337 Totally.

  • mint film!

  • That was an awesome trailer!! Proof that trailers can be misleading ;)

  • @sagaofbluewing if you think that was good at misleading you, You should see my Clash of the Titans trail how to advertise a badly written film 101

  • @ingravegreen Adds to the charm. remember no cgi in the 60's

  • GR8 STUFF. 10/10

  • WOW! You make this look a thousand times better than it actually is! Look at Bernard Cribbins at this time, then look at him in series 4 of the New Dr who.

  • @Flynn4Red Thanks again glad your enjoying the channel

  • Cribbins?

Now to wait for the fanwank implying that Ian Chesterton and Wilf Mott are related.

  • fab, watching this on my pc now

  • I used to love watching this when I was a kid!

  • @nunatak123

Me too,. glad I bought back some good childhood memories for you

  • @smithyblue123 Thankyou I enjoyed making it.

  • the daleks have definitely improved

  • @Willow756 Thanks for the comment, but I cant stand the new multicoloured versions. I do like New who but what was Moffat thinking when he approved those monstrosities?

Check out Dalek Storm, on my favorites, to see how they should have looked in my opinion.

  • @cbatt91337 i know what you mean about the colours, i mean like they improved with the times like the quality of movement and everything, they look more convincing

  • @Willow756 To be fair to the old Dalek operators of the sixties and seventies the pressure on them was phenomenal compared the current operators. They created the movements you see today (no-one to copy from), They had to operate the head and eye movements as well as the body (the head is now operated by remote control) and it was shot "as live" if they made a mistake there was no retake unless someone swore.

  • @Willow756 Of course this was different for the films and the Daleks you see in these films were the most advanced for the time (1967). They were originally going to shoot fire (flame thrower style) not fire extinguishers but it was considered to frightening. (and of course people may have really got charred)

  • @cbatt91337 you cant blame them, at least they didnt keep it in the new series!

  • is there a way i can see it in full?

  • @Noimnotyouarenoob I know what your asking, but my answer has to be, yes buy the DVD

  • This is still the best Dalek adventure ever!

Its a shame the Doctor Who TV series did'nt follow this format.

In the TV series the Daleks turn up briefly every now and then, and are about as organised as the Doctor himself.

The TV series story lines are pretty shallow,as are the way the Daleks end up being defeated every time, only to reappear in a later series to go through the same motions.

  • @Metalraven11 I still think Genesis of the Daleks is the best Dalek story ever Closely followed by Power and Evil of the Daleks but I do take your point that most (not all) are very samey. Thanks for commenting.

  • Over 10,000 views whoo hoo! Yeah I know im sad but this is big for my little channel.

  • BNP party get in power in 21st centuary and bans all clothing and technology that has been made or designed with the help of none pure whites taking us all back to the 1960s.

  • @NielsShoe That explains the ruleing humans then or Robomen as they are known in the film. They are discribed as the living dead, sounds like the BNP to me.

  • Man if there is a fire on earth, these Dalek's are ALL OVER IT. Fire extinguishers everywhere!

  • @madchef LOL I like to think of it as intergalactic fly spray!

  • Why are the natives wearing 1960s clobber in 2150??

  • @NielsShoe When the Daleks invaded, the natives futuristic clothes were all contaminated and discarded due to the disease released by the Daleks. They raided museums and found 1940's - 60s clothes and thats why they where them..............or I could have made that all up and they didn't have the budget so went for the 1940's look to remind people how close they came to invasion by the Nazis, you decide!

  • The Daleks still look like salt and pepper shakers

And in the movie Peter Cushing played Dr. Who too mild; I wanted to see more of his Van Helsing like performance.

  • How come BC doesnt know the doctor in

    end of time

  • I dont mean to be rude but, what are you on about?

  • @TheSeanrules Because this isn't part of the series Doctor Who, it's based off a serial but bastardised.

Still looks good, but I don't know why they did it, why they changed the Doctor's background and everything etc.

  • Absolute class!!!!

  • Wow, you don't half make it look action packed!

    Excellent job sir!

  • Thank you.

  • This is awesome in every way

  • Thanks mate

  • World war three will be a lot like that...whoever created the Daleks Invasion Earth story had a lot of foresight, and was trying to tell us, back then, what was coming! New world army in black uniforms and pockets of resistance...the Daleks symbolise the Illuminati! Dalek spaceships maybe symbolise drones.

  • The story is a what if the Nazis invaded Britain scenario. (Daleks = Nazis Robomen = a collaboration vicshy france type army or Blackshirts). Your take on it is interesting, but I do think you need to stop looking at conspiricy web sites LOL

  • @achaanjim Also the daleks with one eye represents that of the all seeing eye.

  • @badwolf66 Yeah totally...I call it the eye of RA, but I may be wrong about that...the old dalek eyestalk was also the rune of the sun, which is interesting. I've been too negative though...not worried about New World Order...stay in the light!!!

  • That trailer you made is blimming amazing! We need a remake of 2150 AD, NOW!!!

  • Thanks mate

  • if you look to the right of this, in Related Videos, its called Invasion Earth 2150 AD

  • I saw this film when it first aired. It was my first exposure to Dr. Who as well as the Daleks. I've been hooked on Dr. Who ever since. Thanks for putting this together. It's fabulous!

  • @starmedic Thanks mate take a look at the channel for loads more Dr Who stuff including a playlist for the best of Dr who on Youtube

  • Before WNED Buffalo broadcast the early episodes of Doctor Who over in North America, the two Doctor Who movies were the first glimpse I saw of the classic stories, albeit they are alternative versions but still great in their own way!

I remember seeing the Doctor Who and The Daleks film on TVOntario as part of Elwy Yost's Magic Shadows.

  • I always thought this movie was so well made and way ahead of its time!! Remember watching this as a kid and became a Doctor Who and Daleks fan back in those years. This fan trailer is a great creation and gives a modern feel to it yet keeping the awesomeness of the original movie. Great job!!

  • Thank you my friend, glad you enjoyed it This film was my first taste of 60s who and I also remember watching it over and over again as a kid.

  • no about

    your trailer!

  • well in that case thanks very much.

If you like old Doctor Who then this is a good alternative to the original serial. It takes all the waeknesses of the original and makes them so much better (budget, fx, colour, costumes etc) but unfortunately forgets to take all the strengths. Im talking about the watered down script and charators. That doesn't mean its not worth watching just go in with an open mind.

  • Wow, I'm downloading this!

  • Oh my god I actully just noticed Bernard Cribbins stars in this...

  • It took you how long?

  • Im not saying a word but im sure others might.

  • you make this movie actullly worth seeing!ever since i heard about it i thought it sounded sort of silly.

  • Are you talking about the one i trailered or the discussion below?

  • I would have been very interested to see a movie version of The Chase. There have been scripts and proposals for a Doctor Who movie for donkey's years.

It is unfortunate that now that he's leaving the show David Tennant will never play the part on the big screen, his popular incarnation being far, far too big for the small screen!

  • I agree but it would have to be written by Steven Moffat. RTD, although brilliant at charactorisation and scripts, just cant do plots there are a few exceptions eg Tooth and Claw, Midnight, Turn Left and Torchwoods Children of Earth but on the whole he's crap at them. Would have loved to have seen The Chase on the big screen couldnt have been any worse than the small screen version it definately had ideas that were more suited for the big screen/budget

  • The Chase would have made a good no-brainer for the cinema. On television it was a plotless, rambling bore.

It is interesting to specualte which Dr Who stories would make good cinema. With their multiple settings The Dalek's Masterplan and Evil of the Daleks would make great use of the format, and City of Death.

  • Defintely agee with those first two not too sure about City of Death though. Although it is one of my fave stories I dont think it has that big screen feel to it. while, Tomb of the Cybermen, Web of Fear or Invasion does. Incedently the rumour is that the third film wasnt going to have the Daleks in it at all it was apparently going to be a simular plot line to "At the Earths Core" which also stars Peter Cushing in a very "Doctor Who" like role.

  • Funnily enough, as a kid I remember seeing 'At the Earth's Core' not long after I had seen the Dalek movies. Recognising Peter Cushing I managed to semi-convince myself it was another Dr Who film...

  • Of course the Daleks in this movie went on to appear in Loony tunes back in action. I've favorited the clip if you havent had that dubious pleasure.

  • Funnily enough I happened to be working in a nursing home and the move was on the television. Suddenly I heard the Daleks and thought... Oh dear.

Apparently the producers of the movie got into trouble with the estate of Terry Nation.

  • Yeah, they only paid and credited the Beeb at first and Nation stipulated HIS Daleks were not to be seen a comedy light. Im sure thats why they got difficult during negotiations for the Daleks with the new series producers.
