Got to love the racist stereotypes used before 15mins is even up. No wonder they followed bush like he was some masterful leader to invade iraq lol. I can definitely understand the emotions at the time and some time after that but to support invading iraq 2 yrs later on flimsy evidence is nuts.Bet they flipped a coin to decide who to blame it on, iraq or iran.
10 years later... this is broadcast is still as strong as it was if you wound the clock back down to the minute.
I still applaud Howard for deciding to dig in and stay on the air, despite members of his staff leaving the building. To me, this was the strongest, most honest take on everything that unfolded on that day.
RIP Christopher Mozzillo, Eng. 55, along with all the other public servants that finished their duty trying to save the people of a city that they loved.
Haha Gary at 1:19:33 - "Shoot it the fuck down." I've never heard him swear and everyone else totally missed it on the show when they were on terrestrial radio. I thought I heard it, and had to rewind and listen, but it's definitely there. :)
listen to the show and they discuss how many affiliates were with them, some did drop but most stayed for over 2 hours . I remember hearing it in full in St Louis 10 years ago so...
Who the heck was listening to Stern when this all went down? I am sure every station left the show and went to the network feeds. So who was really left listening to Stern?
@wewiii I was, out in California - LA broadcast. On my way to work. Only one other car on the freeway. I didn't know what was going on. Turned on Howard for my morning commute and that's how I found out the WTC was hit and by that time, gone. Howard was freaking out at the time I tuned in. I quickly switched to reg. news but i heard it first from Howard.
I love how they act like America hasn’t done anything wrong. What a complete and utter joke, I mean these people must be living in a bubble! Just take a quick look at America’s foreign policy and learn a few things or two about diplomacy and politics…
you love howard stern. me too actually but I really love it when you break liberal's balls. Youre my hero! everything for everyone and nothing for myself.
Love it Howard's just worried about Pam! Ha! Classic Stern. I remember waking up to this after playing a show the night before; : ) Thought it was a joke at first as well.
Interesting. I ran tape (VCR) for three days straight during and after. I'll review them all again on the 10th anniversary, since I won't be able to go to NY and film.
What strikes me about THIS rendition, is that it is like the conversations I would hear if I was watching this in a neighborhood bar.
It always amazes me the differences...from first reports, to "official story", due both to speculation as fact, and retraction.... which was exactly WHY I taped it all ten years ago.
Studdering John pisses me off here.
