  • @stereoflavasmusic

    Oh well. Shit happens.

  • Shit does happen!

  • @spyrotek2000 I've always thought it was artful dodger as well to be honest? Ah well, who cares, as we say in Barnsley "reight tune!"

  • @spyrotek2000 Yeah i think this was about 1996/1997

  • @spyrotek2000 Comback of the century right there.

  • Wasn't this on this mix on Artful Dodger's Rewind mix CD 2?@stereoflavasmusic

  • @Jaantastic

Wow, this is the stupidest comment ever. Read what we were discussing...not the vocalist (or artist in the case) but who's remix this is.

  • @Jaantastic and you my friend are official a fuking spaztic! Tina Moore is the singer, no one said that. Kelly G and Artful Dodger are not singers they make beats and people are deciding whether it was Kelly G's or Artful Dodger mix. In the US, they dont make this kind of beats, this is UK Garage, they dont even know what that is!

  • @afglhr allright calm down mate

  • @stereoflavasmusic Thanks for setting the remix name straight. I was slaving over Discogs and elsewhere trying to figure this out. :)

  • @stereoflavasmusic little bit of advice never start a sentence with Erm u sound like a WANK!!

  • This song gave me music orgasims when it first came out, this when my love affair with garage music, I was making big shapes around any dance floor that didn't ask for ID! Loving them years! x

  • yeah when we were younger we thought she was singing 'football, alleluia goal'....wicked tune and time for garage

  • groovy

  • any one no where i can get the acapella ???

  • this tune is so old but it Timeless!

propa Summer tune :) brings bac memories ! :) <3 Love it

  • This was the first UK Garage Number 1. Capital FM in London refused to play it, but when it rose in the charts they were forced to start playing Garage!

  • @DJsAreCool Wrong, this actually peaked at number 7 in the UK singles charts (according to MTV Base who just played it) but it was a very influential track for taking Garage music mainstream. It also marks the beginning of the downward spiral for Garage music because when it went mainstream everyone was on it and it was being pumped out like formulaic pop music. By the time of tunes like "Do you really like it, is it is it wikkid" and "chocolate boy" garage music was well and truly buried

  • @vocalskills I definately remember it getting to number one.. maybe I was listening to an unofficial chart? I was only a kid at the time lol. Garage did become too commercialised, with every talentless wannabe MC trying to get on the radio! I really liked this song, but I gotta admit I prefer D&B, House & Trance!

  • @DJsAreCool Well you could actually be right, MTV aren't exactly 100% reliable with the info they put on screen. old skool garge was brilliant but it got too commercialised and later on changed and became too dark and grimey. I prefer house, trance and DnB too :)

  • yeh

  • Aaaaahh..the 90's. All different generations came together and we were caning it,mashing it up.Wicked!

  • @TrueLondongal absolutely :)

  • tuuuunneee <3

  • shit this stuff was always on when i was like 3 its a tuuune

  • quick question is der a dj luck n mc neat version of this

  • Thank You. I'm agree with other people who had post on here, I diffinately miss the 90s because of the music and the wonderful memories when I listen to the songs.

  • If u didn't grow up in the 90's, U missed out quite frankly..... nokia 3210's, no feds plodding up n down the street everyday, not much beef on road so the girls could come out & jam, even the weather seemed hotter....

  • yeah init if i dint have kids u wud do it all again . the partys 'girls 'drugs music and crossers . loved every minute of it (apart from prison time )

  • classic track. very under-rated

  • @goonernunez

    Totally man !

  • @goonernunez old skool gays bruv

  • this tune never gets old

  • tHIS WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST gARAGE TUNES BACK IN THE DAY, heavy tune.

  • this isnt the artful dodger mix

  • JEEEEEEEEEEEESUS WHATS WITH THE ESSAYS PPL? big big big tune, takes me back

  • Tune

  • Good posts Dodgy, really imformative

  • This has got absolutely sweet FA to do with that twat sell out cunt Artful Dodger.

    It's the Kelly G Bump-N-Go Vocal Mix.

Tuff Jam had a hand in this, but the Artful Dodger?? Please, he never produced a single decent in his thankfully short shitty career.

He made pop crap that tried to pass itself off as garage.

  • @Dodgy30 geezer, im intrigued, can u give me a few names of the goodens please? im young and missed this era by a few years maynn..much love

  • Hello mate, all depends what era you're looking for really, Grant Nelson and all the boys releasing stuff on Nice N Ripe in the early 90's were some of the better UK garage tunes, then Tuff Jam etc really took off from about 95/96 onwards - this is what got known as Speed Garage in around '97.

For tunes from that period (same sort of time as this tune), have a look at Somore - I Refuse, or Nu-Birth - Anytime, Jazz House on Smoking Beats, Baffled - Going On, or some of the early MJ Cole stuff

  • New Horizons - Find The Path, Joey Musaphia - I Miss You, Banana Republic feat Judy Obeya - Catch The Feeling, TJR featuring Xavier - Just Gets Better, Kim English - Nite Life (Armand Van Helden Mix), MJ Cole - Too Late, Flava Fever, Guilty, Sincere, Too Blind - all the early MJ Cole stuff was excellent.

  • Or, if you want to go back a bit earlier, to the Nice n Ripe stuff, and the US stuff that was played pitched up on Girls FM and the other decent pirates back in the day, 93/94 period, check out Nu Yorican Soul - The Nervous Track, Barbara Tucker - I Get Lifted (The Bar Dub), Liberty City - If You Really Love Someone, Logic - Blues For You (Hard Dub), Dave Camacho & Intergration - All Around, Hi Times - Journey Into Jazz (Feel It)

  • Mood II Swing - Closer (Swing II Mood Dub), Mood II Swing - Do It Your Way, Todd Edwards - Winter Behaviour, Boris Dlugosch - Keep Pushin (Original Mix)....

Most on Strictly Rhythm, King Street & Nervous Records

Should be enough there to keep you going for a while! lol

  • Mate most 2step UKG was pop and meant the scene was full of ladies at clubs... sadly this never happens anymore since everyone wanted to be in a cru and mc over everything in 2000+. that's when it all kicked off and you got clubs of angry men/boys. The pop stuff you talk of never killed the scene, but the dark shite that started coming through did.

Artful Dodger was 2 people, just like Sunship and Bump+Flex, who without wouldn't have helped the scene grow only for EZ to mess it up!

  • Would like to point out that Mark left Artful Dodger to produce Craig David's 1st album and since he left there has not been one good track under the artful dodger name... Dodgy30, are you fan of 2step at all or you 4/4 all the way? Nice list of tunes btw mate : )

  • @SmoothKriminal81 Pleasure to see someone who understands the history of the scene and knows his music :)

  • pure garage vol 1 the memories

  • does anyone else hear 'football and a million goals'?
