I've yet to taste coffee from all automatic machine that I liked better than from Semi-outomatic machine made by someone skilled. Even stove top moka pots like Bialetti Brikka with freshly ground coffee gives me a better cup in my opinion but then again I only like my coffee black and I very seldom use sugar cube and only if I go to a café I might take one brown and only dip it in and suck it(never blend it into the coffee yuck)

Price or affordability is relative Thomas, aim higher in life, and you may be able to buy one, one day.
Moreover, as something people invest in for the next 5 years or more, think about how much you'll have given Starbucks/Costa/etc in that time period?
And that's just one person, what if you and your partner enjoy a coffee, or have dinner parties fairly regularly.
$60 per month for 5 years of convenience is very reasonable - you'll spend that much easily on a night out with the guys/wife!
