Everywhere else in the world there are two or three size classes *below* the Jazz (Fit). This car is neither cheap nor small. Honda does not sell a truly small or cheap cars in the US because the profit margins are not there.
we're looking for a new car for my sister and i to share before she goes to university, then just for me really after she leaves. My dad wants a Civic, but i want a Fit. i think it's a much cooler car. I just think that the civic's are a dime a dozen. it's a great car, but you see them everywhere.
What is really strange is that the Fit has a smaller, weaker and less torquey engine than the heavier Civic and yet the Fit sill uses more fuel than the Civic. The Civic doesn't cost alot more than the Fit so I don't see how this car would appeal to anyone.
Agreed. The mileage difference is literally pennies and I dove the Civic today- liked the drivers side, but I don't know what honda was thinking for everyone else- I'm 5'6" and the thing just has no headroom! And not a lot of room to move around. I'll take the .2L/100Km loss over banging my head getting into the damn thing any day. Not to mention sedans are effing useless in terms of cargo. I moved out- 1200 km away in a Fit!!
We considered a Civic before buying the Fit (Jazz as it's called here), however for pretty much the same reasons dismissed it. I don't see myself bending down to put my kid in his seat with so little headroom!
Really no comparing these 2 cars, they serve an entirely different target audience altogether imho.
Understand what you are saying, Quality and looks are important factors But Price is another major player. I bet Honda will loose a good amount of would be customers to Lower prices Compact Mfrs. It is at least 4k above average. Quality and Looks should be supplementary bonus as an added incentive's to buy over competition not to be cashed out.
The Jazz was always more expensive than its competitors however it's not stopped people from buying it. And it makes sense, the remaining value is high and so in the end that offsets the higher buying price.
In the US, Fit (Jazz) are too rare to see on the roads compared with competition. I don't know about other countries. I test drove one recently and it wasn't that impressive to justify that price either. Had it been $10K i would take it happily. For $19k Americans are smart enough to pass that to a Yaris Sedan comfortably at $13K
I've never seen a Yaris Sedan, only the 5 door/hatchback version, so hard to compare. I do believe the Jazz' body is larger than the Yaris and it does offer an incredible amount of space which I feel justifies the price along with all the clever familyfriendly gimmicks it offers.
i want one

Does Sport model have 100HP VS 99HP for regular Fit-casket ?
bufbarbnaby 2 years ago
The Sport only carries the alloys and trim + privacy glass as an extra, no engine modifications.

its a bit overprices for base model compared with versa
LTF85199 3 years ago
Yeah, and I've seen the workmanship put into Nissan; pass thanks. That and the Versa only has that Scion that's uglier then it is
