It looks like if there were no strut type gear, the well built heli would have stayed up right. and would have not rolled over. They are very strong machines but an induced angle of stall will develop with no collective pre to the descent, just watch those Agustas ball up their landings on approach.

If youre a heli pilot, its pretty self-explanatory that, you can feel the rotor chop and should not allow the heli to descend so quickly.

If so, you are in no way going to pull out of a settling with power situation unless you have some altitude and forward air speed. Maybe has watched too many A-TEAM episodes and thinks to make a 180 at that air speed and land A BRICK?
