In the Some Kind of Monster DVD you get to see and hear him play, and he does paly bass in the DVD that comes witht he St. Anger album. So yes we have heard him play and he is alot better than Jason, attitude wise and skillwise. He was also in Ozzy Osbournes band, go download some of their music and you'll hear him play.

Rob Trujillo did not appear on "St Anger". Bob Rock played bass on that album. Rob has not yet appeared on a studio album with Metallica. They are currently in the studio recording their first album with Rob. Rob is an incredible bassist. Jason quitting was the best thing that could've happened to 'Tallica.
