Put 4 of these lights together and you have quite the punch for outdoor daytime interviews. Great thing is you can take the base off two of them and just tape all 4 together in a square. You'll have to flip a couple of them upside down so when taped you can access the dimmers on the outside of the square.
Ozzie, this is a great idea, but I couldn't get the same deal on the mounts from jbkcine. They wanted about double, in fact they sarcastically suggested that you pay the difference if I wanted it for what you paid. I found a great place in LA called Findlay's Machine Shop, same design for about $30 in fact, they even anodized it black for me.. Also they came up with a square design for about $20... great guys, fast, very professional. They have my design on file and can easily replicate it.
Hi there, I had 10 of them made at once that's probably why it ended up being 30 each. I get stuff anodized in batches here now. I still haven't anodized these yet, they're aluminum and will be fine for what I use them for. Thanks for the comment.
Look on ebay for the CN-160 LED's should be about $54 shipped to your door. I'd buy 3 or 4 at a time!. Meet with friends who want some and order a bunch and at the same time order the Sony InfoLithium 160's and chargers, that way you'll save money in the long run by not having to buy a ton of AA's. PS....the Energizer Lithium AA's will run it at full power for 3 hours.!
