cold start at 47 it was -16 here this morning idk what it would be like here...... to get your check engine light try disconnecting the battery and hooking it up again
@ActiveWorldsLunitic Well it depends on what cars your used to driving. if you have a big luxery car it might feel like crap. but if you have the average car. the metro has ok comfort, good handling, ok power (3cyl= 55hp, 58torque, 5spd manual/ 4cyl= 75hp, automatic)
@otacon451 its ok. im 5'11" and when i have the seat all the way back i cant push the clutch all the down without having to reach. though with the seat all the way back say good bye to leg room for who ever is behind you. haha
yeah its comfortable on the highway, but you also feel very tiny next to pickups and specially next to trucks. I cant imagine what it must feel like in a Smart Car next to a truck. lol
there was like one week here in ny were it dropped to 37 its been nice out lately. i keep my car plugged in overnite if it gets really cold out. it keeps my tranny fluid and oil at a steady temp of 80 degrees. when i start my car at 10F the temp gauge is almost near normal temp. my sebring just hit 140K 3 days ago.
it has always done that.. iv replaced the belt many times, replaced the water pump & alternator (needed to be replaced) stopped for a while and started doing it again... so i guess its part of the car.. lol
right now I'm fixing lots of mechanical problems at the moment. just last night i got done replacing the oil pan gasket. it was leaking oil all over the place the oil was even making its way to the passenger side wheel (DANGER!!).
and to my surprise the transmission was running only on a bit less than a quart of oil, I got the transmission oil topped off with 75W90 (recommended by Royal Purple.. i asked them.. hehe)
Sweet!... own one myself only need a good 10 bucks to hit me too 100 miles away drive lol sweet.... :)

@jmoyet Well, I have a Camry, so that's far from being a luxury car! I just might check out a Metro if I see one!

i started my car at about 4 degrees and it started as if it was 80 outside. 51 is really not a cold start but this is still a nice start vid.

Yeah it wasn't that cold it was only September.
I'll make another one during the winter.

block heaters?
engines will last a long time past 200K with the right maintenance, just got to watch out for rust on the body.
heh i think the engine will outlast the body.. lol check out my "1997 Geo Metro Rust" video
